    Lewis is a poor fielder; putting Lewis at Short Stop would make the infield defense not much , about non-existant.

    Gallo and Jeffers - The we should have kept Joey Gallo also, especially as he has very good glove at First Base.

    Add to Minor League yearly pay - lump sums for signing plus once they get called up they get Big League minimum for a certain amount of time. For one who did it, beats busting your butt 10-14 hours a day landscaping some times seven days a week to catch up to bad weather delays. One year of 700,000 plus would have covered several decades landscaping work.

    I checked the Saints team roster at this point and was amazed how small it was but hopefull Eels, McClusker, Holland ans Severino are given a good look at Spring Training if the FO does not import some better than average veterans in over the Winter. Severino backing up Santana at First Base would plug any chance of a hole there; Eeles could take second and be a good back-up at Short Stop. Holland could back-up Buxton and McClusker could fill the hole in Left, or Right, field. Of course this presumes that they do not get to the majors and the big league pitchers eat them for lunch.

    If Santana leaves, unless the Twins bring in above average veteran fielder , next year the Twins will be lousy from April to September. Lee has good numbers at Third Base and after that, it is a Chinese Fire Drill every where.

    If I were younger and had he time (money burning hole in pocket) I did 40 years ago, I would go to games to see them play 3D. I do not , but from what I see, 2D, of other players, some here Love dudes who look like they are in the wrong occupation so the I feel the eye test is very much controlled by likes and dislikes that have little to with shown skill. SO, all I have to judge current players is numbers some one esle computed. This site functions by such numbers and opinions, que sera, sera.👍

    The fielding percentage at the end of the stats, is all that matters there.

    Losing Farmer will help with defense? Keeping Julien and Lee far, far away from the infield will help. Farmer was not as good at 2nd as his usual last year, but between Lee, Julien and him, he was easily far better than they.

" They finished similar to the way they started the season; there is no big surprise there really. For the Twins over the decades a September collapse is not unusul, but often it is followed by the realse of the team manager. Who is new on , or gone from, this team come Spring Training though will say more about the Front Office than the Manager. I just read the book Twins at the Met and in an interview quoted in the book, Tom Kelly said he learned how to, and not to, approach Mr. Pohlad but did go into his office directly and tell him who he needed, which he often got. I ponder whether or not Baldelli ever does that.

    Surprised. Either he is hurting more than we know or he does not have much love for the game. Even AAA player make very good money.

    Rodriguez has not shown even average skill at Center Field. Hopefully Kiersey will shine in Spring Training.
