We need all three players and then some to get a jump start ahead of the 40 man roster ... A few minor leaguers not on 40 man roster could be on the opening day line up mlb roster if they perform with fast start ... I'd be okay with Palacios at Shortstop ,, reports are he is a very good defender ..... Will we be competitive and compete ... Are we rebuilding or structuring , it does seems like a total rebuild in the pitching department ..... But who knows exactly what the teams plan are .... We've been speculating this since July 31st after we traded berrios ....

I hope we finally have found our ace , stud and bulldog .... We need #1 starters , not back of the rotation starters ... Good luck Petty

2019 the players did mask his flaws and they came out in the playoffs and have been very visible since ,,, I'm sorry hawk but he isn't a top manager ,,, look what hinch did with Detroit ,, Look what the old has been larussa did with white Sox ,, you might have said when larussa was hired that that would be the death of Chicago .. Hawk , play the game within the game and you be the manager , you make the pitching changes and in game decisions,, even last year Rocco could have won a few more games if he made better choices with what he had on the roster ,,, Rocco took leave to have a baby delivered and his replacement won 4 in arow and went 4-1 ... With this owner and management it will be hard to win a championship ,,, So the blame does also go elsewhere too ...

I stated earlier that Rocco doesn't tap into the talent he has and makes them better ,,, some posts have also added their comments on Rocco's abilities but elaborated more than i wanted to ... Rocco won the manager of the year in 2019 ,,,, Did he deserve it over boone or cash ... No . , what do you base it on , he never managed prior to 2019 , THE PLAYERS HAD CAREER YEARS , he was the manager but how many times did he have to really have to make critical in-game common sense decisions , not much until it all came out in playoffs ... Boone or cash deserved it more , Boone's yankees had so many injuries and very capable back up players to win what 108 games ,,, outstanding and I hate the yankees.... Cash led a Tampa team to the playoffs with 90 plus wins , low payroll , crappy stadium to play in and he is capable if implementing strategy and new ideas outside the box ... I'm happy that the twins won the honor of manager of the year but if I would have been given a vote I would have given the honor to cash of boone ,,,, they earned it by managing ... Rocco did not manage his first year , the PLAYERS HAD CAREER YEARS ... even his post game reports in 2019 were written by someone else ,, a intern would ask the media what questions they were going to ask , and someone write the answers for Rocco,,, didn't anyone notice this but me , I did some poking around and found out when I noticed something was off on his responses .. Rocco was a robot his first season and second and third year was given more of a free hand in post game discussion ..

Lawton led team for a few years , I love his career stats that he walked more than he struck out ... now that is plate discipline .... what happened to hitters and batting coaches ... Be a good blog for someone that has the time to research hitters that have walked more than struck since the millennium

I heard they are scheduled for meetings every day of this week , will there be any significant movement ,,, That is a wait and see .... Yes I'm sure there will be a delayed start to the season opener as spring training has already been postponed or delayed ..... When will season begin is anyone's guess ..... Today nobody takes responsibility for anything ,,, Manfred is a lawyer and before baseball he worked in a law firm as a labor and employment law lawyer ,,,, Like most failed lawyers that can't make money in their profession because they are incompetent they move into politics to make their money and screw things up ... Manfred moved into baseball and is now showing his true colors ,,, he lies just like a politician in his letters to the fans ... Baldelli is out manged practically by every opposing manager ,,, Baldelli has talent on the mlb roster but does not tap into that talent to make them better players , complacent manager

Opening day is scheduled March 31st 2022 ... With the lockout and delay on negotiating a new cba there will be no scheduled opening day .. it will be postponed for another day ,, sorry about the sarcasm

I also truly believe if minor leagues start before major league starts that some of the early arms will jump players already on 40 man roster .... There are some possible cuts on 40 man roster that were injured or produced just enough to stay on 40 through the winter

Great story ,,, I'd rather have stories than all this speculation during the lockout .... BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY , I would like our front office to tell us what the real plan is .. Someone please pin them down and get them to reach out to the fans and tell us ... Baseball is losing its best fans in attendance , they don't know how to market Baseball to draw more fans ...

Everytime I see a signing like this I think back when falvy and levine were hired on and cleaned house with all personal in minor leagues , scouting departments and trainers etc. Falvy quote not mine is .. We have replaced all personal in the organization with top quality professionals in all categories of positions ... Doesn't falvy or levine listen to there scouting personal or are they just inadequate at their position .... Again this does nothing to move the needle for the competitive stance they speak of ... Yes I see this as a depth piece for minors and not on the parent club .... I'd rather see Palacios ,,, everyone raves about his defense and his hitting made progress last year in the minors .. Palacios is eligible for the rule 5 draft and we could lose him if there is a rule 5 draft this year ... If he is still in the twins system I say play him at shortstop if defense is that good and hope the bat is better than Simmons .... Also if I was owner I wouldn't want to spend 400 thousand for a player just to play in the minors ,,,, but FO could be crossing their fingers and also their toes and hope Beckman can have a career year

Miranda hits close 270 in mlb , gets on base and scores runs ,,, miranda should help excite the twins lineup ,, Twins change third base coach and hopefully that will help twins score more runs also , he was awful sending players to score , slow runners he sent and out by a mile , fast runners he stopped and we didn't score with no outs .. Varland I hope pans out but have heard he only right now has 2 pitches

1 . Pitching is in shambles not knowing who's going to fill the complete rotation ,,, Ryan and ober are inexperienced and bundy is bundy ... dobnik is at least starting on rotation if he shows something in spring training , whenever that will be , pitching has been in shambles for along time , but now we will see the prospects we have heard so much about , which ones I will not speculate , see # .... 2. Add a free agent in left hander rodon ,, take a chance , he's a much needed left hander 3. Rodon as free agent and minor leaguers that show their stuff in spring training , whenever that will be ... 4 . What will happen will happen ..... Disaster in 2021 , they never had a true proven replacement for leftfielder Rosario leaving .... They let go of 2 utility player and had people all season playing out of positions and had one of the worst defensive season in the league or probably in twins history .. They did not acquire any top quality ( ace , studs or bulldogs ) pitching ,,, happ being a left hander was the only one I could approve but for some reason after starting out good and then things went horribly wrong for him , ( might be the shoemaker syndrome ) , happ did leave and had better starts for st Louis... Just my observation on the eye test

If there secretive in their plans , approach and budget to the coming season how does a normal fan have suggestions on roster . It's all speculation at that point ... Pohlad in my opinion is lessening the payroll this year because he lost money the past 2 season ( that is speculation ) because nobody has said a dang thing on strategy, plan and budget .. I don't like not being in the loop and I was a business owner and I lived by ... you can't make money all the time , BUT YOU BETTER MAKE MONEY MOST IF THE TIME .. So you lose money 2 years in arow , write it off and pray you don't lose money 3 years in arow ,,, Keep the payroll no less than last year going forward

Thank for this well written post ... I really don't know how to respond to it though.. Without favey / levine and pohlads giving the fans a plan or a budget for 2022 its most likely that the team will be competitive with our prospects to fill the positions ... that's all I have heard from them that we the twins will be competitive in 2022 but haven't shown the fans any strategy , plan , solution or hope for a the season ,, 81 -81 is competitive , isn't going to happen if your a realist ,,,, our front office doesn't move the needle .... for this to happen .... We probably need a new owner that wants to spend for championships and hopefully loves the game , ridiculous to love money if you can't take it with you ,, Have fun and enjoy it

I'd go along with this ,,, Last exhibit in the hall should be the hall of shame ,,, I don't believe Charlie hustle ( Pete rose ) should be in the hall of shame because he bet on baseball after he retired ..... He is a hall of fame player and played the game with intensity ... game changer

You made a good point in discussions of who should and shouldn't be in the hall of fame .... anyone that tested positive after rules of steroids were established or anyone mentioned in steroid or congress committee reports should not be in the HOF , most of them lied that they did not use steroids and cheated .. later they recanted and said they did ...... BASEBALL is losing its integrity of the game ,,, I don't like the cheating , but it seems because they play without strategy in today's games the players have to cheat ... PLAY the game the way I should be played It's the greats of the game that should be in the hall .. Yes it was fun to watch the McGuire and Sosa homerun chase because it was a competition between the two that generated fans interest .. but it was not fun watching bonds setting the single season record and all time homerun record ... Hammering hank is still the top homerun hitter in my book

I'd like to see the cba finalized and baseball starts with no delays .... Minor leagues will get started on time and some of our prospects not on the 40 man roster will play baseball and may leap frog some of the prospects because of their early start in the minors leagues ... For example Martin over Lewis , maybe even Wallner over rooker ... Hope no games are lost ,,, Wake up mlb baseball you're losing the best fans of the game

Good write up jax numbers through the line up first time through ,,, I'd say an opener could be his calling and let's go for it ... Front office has never given the fans a real plan except to say we will be competitive .... Rocco needs to be better at evaluating in game situations and stop being out managed by the opposing manager ,,, Set a regular batting lineup ( lefthand and righthanded pitchers ) and stick with it , and play player's in their comfortable positions .. Let the players know there roles ,, this has nothing to do with 2020 and all the injuries ,,, this has to do with Rocco's 3 years as a manager
