  1. Opinion of deal tracks almost perfectly with opinion of Obama. Shocking. #notshocked http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/opinions-about-the-iran-deal-are-more-about-obama-than-iran/
  2. In Syria I have a hard time choosing between Assad, Al Qaeda and ISIS. But of course it's the countless civilians caught in the middle who bear the brunt.
  3. Highly doubt on Meyer and Arcia is much more likely to be traded in the offseason if at all.
  4. I'm with Brock, this post makes no sense in the context of this discussion. And Ryan wasn't GM when these players were at their apex, unless you wanted to trade Liriano in the middle of 2006.
  5. I'm a huge optimist and completely agree, but man is there an easy counter argument to this specific point. I'll expand on the point too. Long term our interests lie much more with Iran than any other country in the region outside of possibly Turkey and maybe Egypt (with Israel not counting). The current leaders are the crazy but Iran clearly has the best infrastructure and an imminent demographic opportunity for a somewhat tolerable political outcome.
  6. Clearly we need a sarcasm button...
  7. And the current lefty specialist in the majors has (arguably) even better stats against lefties. Twins certianly don't need a LOOGY.
  8. I think "might" is selling this fantasy short.
  9. I support the original idea.
  10. I like this comp, but I think Gordon moves quicker than Span ultimately did. Gordon will be interesting over the next two years, he has the necessary skills but really does need to put on some good size. He is still 19.
  11. I agree with this list but highly doubt they get to #2.
  12. I also like "moves I would make" posts that include 7 different transactions.
  13. And trade proposals. Those are the best.
  14. I know it's a message board but I generally smile at the massive overreactions and paranoia that can shift on a daily basis. I also like the outrage that the most trivial moves/decisions can bring. It truly isn't official until someone's mind is boggled. Are these memes or just personality traits?
  15. I would still track Gordon closely. Seems to be trending up, and I really think it's the second full year for hs draftees that really tells the story.
  16. I only want Arcia up if they have a plan laid out that we can all understand. He'll be up soon enough, but I'm sure they want him to get daily reps as long as they can. Won't happen in the bigs.
  17. I also noticed that Fangraphs now has the Twins as second most likely team in the division to make the playoffs for the first time this season. So something is obviously moving, or the wins banked are starting to become that much more important.
  18. Correct. 40 man roster not 25. This might impact Jay or Berrios if they want to bring them up but not Arcia.
  19. Anyone else think of this:
  20. I think it had some validity earlier in the season but the Twins are a better team right now, maybe significantly better. And the wins are banked. In my mind they are a bullpen arm or two away from really solid up and down the roster. (And yes, I was being sarcastic about base runs).
  21. i agree, same ballpark of value and very little chance the Brewers move him.
  22. But what are the base runs?
  23. I personally think there is a quibble and then there is threatening to lose your s or having your mind boggled by something this minor, especially since they have been playing such great ball since the decision was made.
  24. I'm quite confident that we haven't heard the last of adjustments for catcher defensive metrics.
