  1. By this measure, the Rock is obese and out of shape too.
  2. I have a feeling I'm going to watch Legion all over again after this season. It's got me hooked, but it's layered and the reveals are a slow burn.
  3. Now that I live here as well I refer to it as "Arid Mississippi"
  4. I would agree that Cabrera's 280 is not the same as Sano's 280. I would bet body fat percentage would back me up. Sano is always going to have a high weight number because the dude is just thick with muscle.
  5. Just the title of this thread makes me happy. Good-bye stupidity of Sano in the outfield. That alone has that feel of a fresh season springing new optimism. I hope he develops as a fielder, I'll be rooting for him, but for now thank god sanity has retaken the team's decision making.
  6. So the Pacers don't know what to do with Paul George. Do you offer them Dunn, Lavine, and next year's high pick for George? And do they take that? Him playing SF with Wiggins at SG intrigues me greatly.
  7. I agree, but you kind of make my point - ultimately all of these things are on Ryan. We might not like that Molitor feels confused or mystified, but at the end of the day he can't make Ryan tell him what's going on or do Ryan's job for him. This, to me, speaks to the idea that Ryan was dictating last year and Molitor was trying to make due. I'd prefer Molly have a little more say in things as well, if he had maybe we avoid a number of roster blunders last year.
  8. But that's not what is at issue here. I'm sure we all think those conversations happened (or should have), the question is - why is he responsible that no action was taken? Why is it his responsibility to be tracking AAA box scores to see where guys are being played? Is he in charge of the AAA manager? His quote implies that he (and others) were mystified about what happened. It's not his job to ensure what should happen. He might have had that exact conversation and maybe even said "Terry....Polanco needs to be at SS in AAA" But after that....it is 100% not his job to do anything else. That's on Ryan. This thread feels like a witch-hunt on Molitor. Isn't Danny Santana enough? Why do we have to bash hiim for things that aren't his job?
  9. Molitor's job is to manage the major league team to wins. It isn't his job to monitor the minors. Do you want him weighing in on contract negotiations? The draft? Promotional work? Where does that line end?
  10. Your analogy doesn't really fit. Recruiting underlings is part of the job of the manager of a location. What you're arguing Molitor should've done was know what the DQ manager 8 towns over was doing with his accounting ledger. That's not his job to oversee. And if he tries to, he's probably diverting time from what he's really supposed to be doing. Yes, he can weigh in on things from an organizational standpoint but once the season starts, his job isn't to worry about anything but the major league team.
  11. Yeah, I'm also concerned Dunn is just Rubio II. With the amount of PG talent in this draft, maybe they are just hoping to free money. Or maybe they're hoping Rose meshes well with Wiggins and KAT and he wants to stay? It'd certainly be nice to have a PG that's a threat offensively.
  12. It'd make sense....if they didn't have Norris. I thought that was a smart buy-low move on their part. So, yeah, I don't get this.
  13. Joe Blow running the DQ in your neighborhood shouldn't be responsible for what the Dairy Queen CEO is supposed to do. Molitor should be focused on getting the major league team ready to play every day. To win every day. He shouldn't be remotely concerned about where AAA managers are playing guys. He should pass off his thoughts to Ryan on players that are coming or going, but what is happening in the minors is Ryan's job to oversee. Not his.
  14. But it's not his job to dictate where those managers are playing those players. You are blaming the middle manager for not doing the CEO's job.
  15. I don't think we should expect Molitor to be pouring over minor league box scores to make sure people are playing where they are supposed to in AAA or AA or wherever. That's not his job.
  16. I could buy this argument if TR and Antony had shown a history of emphasizing the importance of playing players only where they were best suited. But that's far from the case, in fact, we have mounds of evidence to the contrary.
  17. This is also something to try. And with his contract price, length, and a down year in production it may be ideal.
  18. Thibs really doesn't like Rubio for some reason? Is that a safe conclusion?
  19. Yeah, this. Polanco is so much more advanced as a hitter, there is no way Buxton should lead off while he hits 9th.
  20. I'm betting Molitor had some close door conversations last year with Ryan that started with "What the hell are we doing?" Because I can think of a handful right of the top of my head that he had nothing to do with and had to bear the brunt of the results.
  21. Yeah, how that show managed to get multiple seasons is one of mankind's great mysteries. It started pretty well, but my god by midseason the first year it was a **** fest of red herrings, stupid writing, stupid characters, and nothing to like. My wife and I bailed on that show and never looked back. And we were all in the first few hours.
  22. Big win last night!
  23. Right, plus you attach a pick to that and they might take him. I don't know how the "waiving" process even would work for an NHL contract.
  24. I don't mind looking at Boyle. For some reason I thought Dan Boyle when you said that, but yeah, Brian Boyle makes some sense. If they do anything, it should be a forward.
