  1. I'm really not sure what to do, but it might be time for a retool. I'd keep Granny, Zucker, Coyle, Nino, Spurgeon, Scandella, Brodin and put everyone else on the block. We supposedly have another great wave of talent coming, let's open some spots and see what we can get for some of these guys. I love the way they played this season, but we're aging fast. At the very least I'm trying hard to move Suter and/or Parise.
  2. For me, the only reason I'm interested in the radio is because buying the TV subscription is stupid expensive. $20 for something inconvenient and limited is still a pain.
  3. The NBA doesn't offer theirs free as far as I can tell, only the NHL. The NHL does it, I think, because it's smart not to block people from your product. Baseball should wise up on that themselves.
  4. Well it depends on what his objective is right? Is it to play the outfield? Is it to get regular at-bats? What is he content with beyond pitching?
  5. Misery loves company.....
  6. I'm not convinced that Mauer is going to start hitting. We may be seeing the end of Mauer as a functional offensive player. Buxton? I'm worried. There are so many things wrong with his approach at the plate and that's so hard to fix at this level. But yeah, it's nice to see this team doing so many things well day to day.
  7. Being out of market, I just want an option that allows me to stay tuned in with my favorite team without gasping at the bill every month. Or jumping through hoops to access what they do allow. If I want to listen to a Wild game? An app I already have, that works well (iheart), allows me to do that with no inconvenience or cost. Baseball seems to make it actively inconvenient for me to watch my favorite team. They are literally getting zero dollars out of me and all my clicks to follow the team go to websites other than MLB.com. A meager effort to give me options that don't cost an arm and a leg and a pain in the ass would be appreciated.
  8. Would it though? Hockey does it already and WCCO was basically accessible statewide for years and there was still local stations. Those stations are so highly localized I really don't think offering free radio moves the needle for then at all. The live stream folks aren't their listeners anyway
  9. All the more reason to just offer it for free as an olive branch to fans.
  10. "Victim" is definitely not the right word.
  11. Nothing stops him from pitching hitting, there are plenty of opportunities for that in the NL too. Does "2 Way" require him to play in the field on his non-pitching days? I don't think that definition is clear.
  12. Right, but if you sign with an NL team you can show them every day you pitch that you can hit well enough to warrant consideration for more at-bats. It just likely won't happen, but it's as close as he'll get.
  13. It looked to me like he whiffed grabbing it.
  14. Yeah and if you're going to do it, aren't you pretty much hell bent on stealing a base too? That never seems to happen either.
  15. At least with hockey, 2-0 is not so difficult to overcome as it is in other sports. But, it goes without saying we are in must-win territory.
  16. Right, just put a price tag on it that doesn't immediately make me say "good lord! You want that?" You're pricing yourself out of entire cross sections of fans by being complete **cks about it.
  17. I thought the first goal was soft as hell. We can't have nice things.
  18. If he signs with the NL he's basically a two-way player already. Not sure it's that big of a deal.
  19. Oh, believe me, I hate this too.
  20. I predict Empire Strikes Back with flashier visuals. Like the first one. *Ducks*
  21. Not making outs in RISP is a good thing. It's also fair to want more than that. Not making an out doesn't mean you are delivering runs. The context does matter.
  22. How the Martha climax idea ever made it to film is a marvel. I'm convinced someone, inside the production, is the most magnificent troll of all time. Plain stupidity alone can't account for it.
  23. Seeing them play like crap and lose makes me feel better.
  24. A hit and a walk are not equal. I think it's worth saying that because people seem to treat them the same because they have the same impact on OBP. But I also don't want Mauer to swing for the sake of it either. I think all of us who have watched the man play can say there is room for more aggression in his game, but that ship has long sailed.
  25. Your 100th post was nice and appreciative? What a waste........ (kidding!)
