  1. I think this is exactly what the Twins brass hoped for. Let's hope it translates to his game.
  2. It's also his age, position, and declining defense. Even if we captured magic in a bottle, it'd likely be short lived. But I'm willing to take a gamble on upside.
  3. I like signing Cruz....but that only makes the Cron acquisition more befuddling.
  4. I'm not disagreeing, it's just so unprecedented and unique I might've been shocked by just about any decisive thing they did. I think he deserves to lose his job. When opposing defenders are mocking your predictability....it's over.
  5. Odds are that Adrianza is the better baseball player in 2019. I'd give Tulo a ST invite and maybe even gamble a one year deal on him if I'm willing to cut bait. But we are long, long removed from his elite play. Colorado sold on him right before the utter collapse.
  6. Seems to me Perkins was the more evident case to juxtapose with Sano....
  7. It's the timing. Firing coordinators at this time of the season, with a team in the Vikings' position is unusual. I'm not questioning the justification or anything, but I'm surprised given the timing.
  8. Too often the phrase "it'll take magic pixie dust for us to sign them" and "there's a snowball's chance in hell" are married together as a preposterous, defeatist attitude. And usually it migrates into the "The Twins will never sign a FA because X, Y, Z" All of that nonsense ignores the bigger problem: The Twins won't spend. Not that they can't, they won't. So I'm adamant about calling out arguments like your pixie dust one precisely because it gives bogus cover to the ownership/organization.
  9. I'm not complaining, but I'm shocked he was fired.
  10. I don't care, he's probably not the guy I'd have targeted at the outset. I'm just stating your argument against Chief was a poor one.
  11. That's just a bad throw, not sure if he was open, but it didn't matter. That's a terrible throw. And it looks like Cousins messed up the 3rd down exchange too.
  12. Holton Hill looks like a find right now.
  13. At best that should've been an illegal contact call. PI? Good lord.
  14. Not necessarily, but there is no magic dust required. You want someone? Pay them more than anyone else. It really is that simple.
  15. This team needs to complete eradicate the part of their playbook used for 3rd and short.
  16. Kendricks has a few INTs for touchdowns. Implying he doesn't know what he's doing or can't be a playmaker is just silly. He was just gassed, nothing more than that.
  17. It's called cash. And yes, the Twins have plenty of it.
  18. I was sarcastically referring to this report,
  19. It'd been a pretty long drive and a long play. I think he was gassed.
  20. Shut the thread down. Winner right here, pretty much sums it up.
  21. I believe the bar for being in contact with these players was a passing "Hi!" to their agent. Otherwise, I found this Onion article amusing.
  22. I wouldn't disagree. But I would suggest such a sweet spot balance to assuage fans is as possible to find as a unicorn.
  23. It's funny, for hte last five years all I remember hearing is that we run too much.
  24. I need a win tonight. My best fantasy squad got upset and by a fraction of one point......so counting on the Vikings to reverse my spirits seems like a sound plan right?
  25. While you are technically correct on the first portion of your response, I feel that is too convenient/kind/(struggling for the right word). I don't think frustration over spending is solved by saying "yeah, but look at these non-zero allocations of payroll!". We have plenty of money to do a lot this offseason. I hope the second half of what you said is true, but if that happens it also might no longer qualify as "standing pat" either.
