    I don't understand why anyone would ever underestimate the demand for starting pitching. It isn't a new phenomenon to need starting pitchers.

    Big Sexy's first start as a Twin turned out (predictably) awful but the energy in the crowd that night for the first four innings or so was the best I've witnessed at Target Field. One of the sportswriters (Souhan, perhaps) described it as a "carnival-like atmosphere" and that seems fairly fitting.

    When you are only resigning your own guys it lacks the impact of making an addition. At best, we are merely treading water. If we didn't resign those two we would have ONE starting pitcher on this roster.

    I had Chicago ahead of the Twins prior to Encarnacion. Buy, hey, maybe Garver will hit 74 home runs and I'll be proven wrong.

    Yes, simply shocking he would kill pitching staffs that have consistently been horrendous since he arrived to the AL.
