  1. If they can lock him up for 96m it will be the bargain of the century. Alex Bregman is a good comp who got 5/100. It is very possible his arbitration years cost something close to 96m if they let it ride. There is significant risk for the Twins getting priced out of the market and risk to Lewis on injury history. I think something gets done but 96m doesn’t get a call back unless it’s for 5 years, not 8, no matter how many incentives.
  2. Wait, there’s another game today? We partied like they won the whole thing last night.
  3. It was obvious from section 103 that they were spitting on the splitters. We were talking about it just before the second Royce home run. The two he took before hitting it looked closer from our angle than on the replay but he was obviously seeing it well. The difference between tipping the pitch and throwing a not great pitch is very slight. I am curious about Varland in that situation. He hasn't played fireman yet and that could have been quite a fire.
  4. I wonder if it was part of the plan to get all the Minnesota natives into this first game. Varland was a bit of a stretch in that spot.
  5. Atmosphere was excellent but I’m really curious to see what it will be with an actual full house. Another 6-8000 folks for a real sell out will be pretty epic. Maybe we will see that tomorrow with a chance to clinch. The dual anthems and flyover were excellent. The singer killed it on both of them but the crowd harmonizing perfectly on both gave me chills. I’ve heard lots of crowds that sound like fighting cats but we were quite good today. Everything else went as planned. Even though the offense ran through Royce it was the whole lineup that ignored the splitter and ran the pitch count up. It’s a winning postseason formula even if the big hits don’t always come. Pablo locked up his status as our guy, both with the pregame fit and the pitching. None of the youngsters seemed overwhelmed by the moment and the defense was on point after a shaky start. Now that we are all past that stupid streak it’s time to grind. Finish it out tomorrow and get healthier for the next one.
  6. Sheesh, Chapman is a very dangerous 8 hole hitter. But then again, so is Wallner.
  7. Yes. This is a game thread people, get it together!
  8. Middle of the lineup looks like a lefty trap. You would probably let Kep hit but then he would have to stay in for Solano and Correa. Same for Wallner spot. Lineup is set to give maximum pinch hit value to make their lefties pitch to righties.
  9. Castro is much more valuable off the bench than any difference in center.
  10. 3:38pm everyday, should be great.
  11. 3:38pm everyday, should be great.
  12. Just texted my astros fan buddy. He thinks they will be going for the win tomorrow as the division win and a week's rest is worth it. Also it might be JP France pitching instead of Framber. Lots to still shake out.
  13. If we could get some extra innings tonight it would be a nice bonus.
  14. Really nice double play and the Astros go to the top of the 9th up 1-0.
  15. Yes, xBa doesn't take direction of field into the equation so that would be a can of corn in center. I haven't seen an explanation why when pull and oppo are recorded for every ball.
  16. Larnach home run the rare 0.120 xba 30 for 30 ballparks home run. And the nerds (of which I am one) wonder why people are suspicious of the fancy stats.
  17. Not sure I care how this turns out as long as it finishes in regulation. Polo, sore ankle.
  18. So far so good on trying to keep everyone healthy. Not sure they are trying to accomplish much else.
  19. Also good to see Stewart get this out of his system.
  20. Good god man, have you been outside today?
