  1. I am very curious about this as well. I haven’t seen or heard of any reporting of a day in life of Rocco or falvine. It’s just frustrating when there is no way to know who made what choice but the talk is so certain. I would bet really good money neither Falvey or Levine is in this meeting. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t meet with Rocco more than weekly.
  2. What exactly do people think Rocco’s job actually is? I’m not trying to poke at you, I see lots of comments like this and the thought makes no sense to me. No doubt they are on the same page but do we think he gets to work everyday with a task list like the new guy at a construction site? Does he get a call in between innings? I don’t mean to be short but I haven’t seen any evidence to support the Rocco as a puppet narrative. He most certainly has a big seat at the big table and this would be a core responsibility of he and his staff. Falvine have their own core responsibilities. They probably are all ok with it which is more concerning. Someone needs to ask the question, what does this gain us?
  3. Working on catching up on this thread but did someone wish for a complete game?
  4. Being pre-planned somehow doesn’t make it better. I said what I needed to say in the game thread except this. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. We will see if it catches on. Almost equally surprising was the complete game. I would have been just fine with a Pagan 9th but I love this. Maybe a little message to Sonny from Rocco in there too.
  5. Have to think that's it for Ryan. Bravo sir.
  6. True but the advantage gained here is roughly the same as the advantage gained by the reps. The time those reps come in handy will be later in the season with no PH options. I want them to have at least seen a lefty in the last few months.
  7. Don't disagree or mind that he is showing urgency. I mind that he's doing it poorly.
  8. But did it work today? AK and Julien made outs and the replacements have just been OK. The rest of the lineup is what is working today. Agree though we may see a pitcher in left field if they keep this up.
  9. That’s my main beef, if we are to use a batter for one at bat please make it a high leverage situation. Benches are short. Lead off and third hitter of the game are pretty darn low leverage. I really like the lineup where he stacks handedness lower in the order so he can take advantage of a reliever 3 batters in a row. That at least creates leverage. If that time around the order is in the 6th I’m fine with that.
  10. Analytics is not blindly following the numbers. It's knowing when to apply to numbers in the most effective ways. In that way, fail. Let the computer manage if this is what we are going to do. Let the righty bat against a righty in the first inning and save the moves for a more important time if we are so concerned about the opener. At least its not a completely verboten sbr matchup, the numbers support that for one at bat in question that would be a better option. Stack the lineup differently if you need to. I'm a defender of Rocco generally but this is dumb.
  11. Yeah but its a 26 yo making his debut. They should still do that with AK and Julien. I'd rather see them get looks against lefties here.
  12. Bruce Bochey is going to start an opener just to take them off the field. It'd be worth it in a big game.
  13. Against a guy making his debut. He happens to throw left handed but looks like the perfect chance to get some looks. If the games get serious we are going to both lose our minds and not be able to always platoon.
  14. That's what they get. Go to your room and think about what you've not done.
  15. Need one like this, now don't bone it up and use seven relievers.
  16. Agreed, but Julien also had an easier one the other night that was a hit as well. Official scoring and umpires man.
  17. Somehow Correa only .960 xBA on his. Reminds me of a great movie line. Oh, yeah? Name one park in America that ball wouldn't have gone out of.
  18. Dang rookies need to be getting on base, vets can't do it all themselves. 🤣
  19. I've been thinking for a while that Wallner could at least approximate his defense with the arm and some time with working the wall angles but I was expecting a drop off. Now not so sure.
  20. I wasn't aware Provus had this gear, he mad.
  21. Maybe that's why he got thrown out 😂
