  1. The platinum glove part of that play was the diving stop. After that's accomplished. Eat it there's no play
  2. Correa probably should gave ate that 1. If it gets through its probably 2 runs anyway but the pen is on fumes. We need 8 runs here and now
  3. A split as compared to a sweep which is exactly what it should have been and Thornburg is showing why they went Pagan yesterday
  4. It was an earned run 4 consecutive walks with 2 outs.
  5. No. Archer to me is one of the reasons the bullpen is overused. You need 5 bullpen innings everytime out.
  6. So Archers line. 4 is 90 pitches 6 walks 1 hit 0 er. Is that considered a quality start
  7. Archer upset at ball 4 call. This umpire has been more than generous with strike zone. 4 BB in 1 inning. SOP. And he's really been stretched out. I thought because Archer had no spring training he would be gradually extended. It's July. He'll get through 4 today. 53 pitches after 2 innings. Pagan efficient
  8. Statement game. You have thoroughly outplayed us and outscored us by 20 some runs and yet we're still .500 against you kind of statement. Or we'll win all the close games because your bullpen will implode kind of statement.
  9. Nope. It's still -43
  10. So you've stated that pitchers roles have changed. And Twins fans expect Rocco to throw Pagan under the bus. And pitching coach and bullpen coach are all involved in decision making. Then why do they keep putting him in the same high pressure situations when they can clearly see his struggles over the past 10 days and realistically all season long. Pagan escaped blown saves 3 or 4 times earlier in the season and everyone saw that the law of averages will come back to bite you. So this hasn't been just a last 10 days thing. This is who he was in San Diego and in Minnesota
  11. So am I reading this correctly. We are to rejoice the fact that the Twins have control of Pagan for 1 more year and a damaged Paddack vs Rogers who would have a nice payday due at the end of 2022 for a 40+ save season. Well hallelujah. That's why the Twinkies struggle. A reliever of that caliber plus Duran can take a team deep into October. But hell yeah, the twins get to groundhog day with Pagan for 2023
  12. I don't know if Francona wins all 6 games. You have to account for the occasional bad breaks or bounces. But yes, I'll bite. You're doing a great job of p ing some people off. Not me. I just want to know where you came up with -43. I see last year was -15 and so far this year a-9. My analysis is ‐15 for this 2022 season. It's-5 in the last week. I was defending Rocco a little, but to just keep throwing Pagan and Duffy back out in the same situations is the definition of insanity. Or as my dad would say, dumber than a fencepost.
  13. I love Buxton. I'm sure that's who you're referring to as a top 3 player in all of baseball. But if you have to add the caveat of "when healthy" then you can't call him that. Take this year. Hot in April cold in May hot in June. Even healthy that's debatable. Trout Tattis Judge Guerrero Jr Harper and a few others. Do the Twins have a good lineup? Yes, I'd even say it's top 6-10. But murderers row it's not
  14. It's medication time
  15. Why is it such an issue that Correas defensive measures are down. Not having bregman to his right or altuve to his left accounts for the range factor. Are Keplers numbers down when Buxtons not in CF? I'll bet they are.
  16. I agree with that. This year there have been a couple of in season firings. When the Phillies fired Girardi they went on a pretty good winning streak and have since leveled off. When the Angels fired Maddon due to a long losing streak. They have played .500 baseball at 9-9. So what I'm getting at is I agree that managers get far too much blame and not nearly enough credit. Let's pretend the Twins win it all in 2022. The majority of TD will still want him gone
  17. So this is a Stat that can be manipulated by the Stat geeks who will say something like. Hey look, our bullpen isn't that bad. We're 12th out of 30 teams when in fact it's 1 guy carrying the water.
  18. A guy who is a basket case and doesn't run out of the box on a would be double is not a fundamental issue. A guy missing a sign on the squeeze/safety squeeze, maybe. Everyone should know the signs. Multiple defensive lapses by so called stellar defenders. I guess you can blame Rocco for all these things.
