  1. Speaking of that. But I don't know the exact numbers, but Mickey Mantle hit like 50 or 60 points higher as a right handed hitter, but hit twice as many home runs lefthanded
  2. Vasquez with a nice piece of hitting. He's done that a few times this year. Just not consistently. Polanco moves him over. Solano brings him home. Shut down inning now sunny
  3. Miranda's status as a Twin changed on Lewis call up. With Gallo/Kirilloff at 1b and Buxton solely DH. Where would you put him
  4. And I misread that as well. Gallo COULD be headed for the IL
  5. It was on the MLB Twins report. Baldelli mentions he's been gutting it out for a while. So hearing that I'm wondering why this didn't happen a week ago
  6. Gallo to the IL. So probably Wallner to return.
  7. A ok. I'm in the red, but I still have MLB so I'll watch there. Thank you
  8. When the Twins signed Buxton to his 100 million dollar extention, how was it a steal? A career .230 hitter with some pop. Great speed. Best defensive CF in baseball. But! And that's the biggest part of it is that he's available a little more than 50% of the time. That's not a steal. That's market value. And now that he can only DH and it looks like his availability remains the same with highly diminished returns. It looks like Buxton got the steal. Not the Twins.
  9. I looked at Fox and the game I have is Dodgers vs Yankees?
  10. No and No. When he signed his contract last year there was no thought of him just being an every day DH. Or if there was, no one mentioned it. More along the line that he got half his value because he only played in half the games. And what is his trade value? I don't think there's any team that would give a top prospect for a guy who is game but more fragile than Humpty Dumpty. Let's look at it another way. You're a team that has a Royce Lewis type player. Tremendous upside but out for the last 2 years. Would you trade him straight up for BB? I wouldn't.
  11. Is it time to end the Buxton DH experiment? Yes. Will the Twins end the experiment. No. The only way the experiment ends is Buxton going down and they're forced to.
  12. No Buxton Correa or Gallo. Team strikeouts 7. Only 6 hits. But it shows they can still win without the big guns. Now go win the series. Till tomorrow.
  13. Why? With strikeouts down. More emphasis on speed and getting on base. I expect to see More .300 hitters. Team BA already higher than last year except for the Twins and a few other clubs
  14. Better than Ozzie? His range is nowhere near his. Correa has a big arm supposedly. I see a lot of his long throws skipped over to 1st. Not saying he isn't a good shortstop. But I don't think he's any better than Ripken another tall SS. I'm not buying what him and Boras sold the Twins. If Turner Seager Simien that 2022 group of FA coerced big money longer deals from their clubs why wasn't Correa able to? Something is not adding up. We'll have 6 years to find out and assess who zoomed who. And now he has Planters Fasciitis That's not going away by tomorrow. We'll see.
  15. 4 and 4A. Larnach and Miranda. Hmm. Larnach wasn't even supposed to be with the big club coming out of Spring training, but due to injuries. Polanco and Kirilloff came north. Had a real good 1st 10 days. Struggled and got sent down. Came back and hit 2 3R homers when he got back. As well as increasing his RBI total. Got sick with pneumonia and continued playing. Has missed 3 weeks and still leads team in RBI's. Miranda? Soph jinx maybe. But not top 5 disappointing.
  16. In the original post that I responded to. It was implied that umpires were costing the Twins to lose games. When the thread specifically says " fortunately it didn't cost us this time" it's pretty clear that it's saying that umpires calls on balls and strikes have cost them games before. This is not true. Their bad calls aren't 100% against the Twins. Even though sometimes it may seem that way.
  17. The only questionable strike last night was the called 3rd strike to Lewis. The rest were money. And the umpires aren't costing the Twins hitters. The Twins hitters are doing that on their own. There are missed calls all the time. Houston had a coach ejected over balls and strikes. So it goes both ways.
  18. And it's not concrete. Just last year the Twins turned a triple play that's never happened in MLB history. I don't remember the guy who hit it to Buxton. But how is or was that AB measured? It's like expected batting average. 99% of the time that 1 instance is a hit. But not that time. And Santa and the Easter Bunny have been around for over 100 years too.
  19. Win probability added. So in other words it's like crypto currency. NOT REAL. Hmmm. Let's see. If this happens then maybe that happens. But but but. I don't know. I'm just intentionally ignorant. No baseline to measure. Variables change like the weather. Go watch Brian Kenny.
  20. I disagree that retaliation should never be a thing. When a team loses the services of a player for weeks sometimes months due to hbp international or not. Someone's wearing one
  21. Yeah but he has a WPA of 1.0. That's really good
  22. I was surprised when they did nothing after Farmer got it in the face vs Chicago. Intentional or not
