  1. I really don't remember another young player looking this bad. Even hicks, who can't hit out of a paper bag in New York now, didn't look this incompetent. How can he hit minor league pitching do well and flounder this badly in the mlb? Obviously there is still time, i don't think anyone is giving up on him. They just have too do something different. Whatever they've been doing, it's not working. Get Hunter to Minnesota to spend some time with him, or carew, or even Nick punto. Just have him bunt every time up, at least he'll make them make a play!
  2. When he says "let's take back Missouri" while firing a machine gun.... kinda makes you wonder how many people are buried under his tomatoes.
  3. I wouldn't say Texas is the most reliably red state anymore. There are enough people pushing hard for change in Texas, it's only a matter of time it turns blue. States that i think will be red forever are Mississippi, Alabama and other low educated, segregated, highly religious states. Texas is losing its ability to pass laws which alienate a particular segment of the population. After spending a week in Austin this spring, i believe there is hope after all.
  4. Clinton opened up a ten point lead on him now, with Johnson at 12% according to fox news. I keep saying it, but once Johnson gets in the polls, it's a game changer. I hope even some of the trump base would defect when they come to terms with who trump is. I read a good article about the religious right and the Republican party recently. Basically, it talks about the southern strategy, abortion and how that base is vital to the republicans.
  5. I don't know where they are with Suzuki, but I guarantee they know where he stands compared to the rest of the league. They will try to upgrade, but it isn't going to be easy. I would guess Santana, Dozier and Rosario will all be available. If I was the twins, I'd talk to mauer. See how many games he'd be willing to catch.
  6. Ugh. Vielma is bound to be a no hit short stop defensive replacement. That type of player has value, but not when half your infield is this mold. Not a bad guy to have in the system since gardy isn't the manager, but I don't think he will ever be an acceptable mlb regular.
  7. I'm over Meyer, glad he is gone so i don't have to read about him meeting his potential anymore.
  8. All the jays gave away was some rookie ball pitcher, #18 on their list. Doubt that is the same offer they gave for Santana, but pass for sure.
  9. What! I mean, yes! The baseball gods love Mark Antony.
  10. Grossman, suzuki and Adam Brett walker. Sign it and send it before the ink dries
  11. Wait, you were going to vote for him before?
  12. Had Paul been given a real shot he might have been able to do more damage to trump. Unfortunately, the gop got behind Bush, Rubio, then Cruz. Bad choices. Paul probably did the smart thing and got out early and didn't waste too much time with it. Now, he's far far away from the mess that has been made, and Ted Cruz, i believe, will forever be associated with it.
  13. I wish i didn't have 50k in student loan debt to pay off still. I'd love to be involved in more trading like this. I would have bought Facebook as soon as they went public.
  14. I don't understand how duffey, nolasco, and milone have been allowed this many mlb starts. It's amazing. Especially with berrios in aaa. Wow.
  15. I agree that the rose colored glasses are not going to drive people to the polls. Unfortunately, people are more willing to act when they think something bad is going to happen. Clinton needs to emotionally connect people to a sense of urgency. They cannot believe people will vote just to stop trump. On top of that, they should want voters to vote down the ticket and take control of the Senate. While Clinton will get disenfranchised from trump independents, those same voters aren't necessarily going to vote for the Democrat senators. Until the gop can modify its party (ailes and O reilly out of fox news is a big step), i can't support them. When the head of the gop revolves around trump, Cruz, McConnell.... man there are problems. So for this election, i don't mind seeing the democrats win.
  16. Luckily for me, the company i work for is German and does 3 year assignments for employees into different countries. I'd be ok with my kids growing up in the German school system. Many of the German-english speakers i know speak better English than a lot of Americans. I go to Munich for the first time this fall, and if i like it.... and Donald wins the election.... might just make the move (and work on an advanced degree while I'm there lol). What about the dnc speeches don't you buy Brock? For the most part, they have been great. Sure, it's tough to accept the notion our country is so great right now, but it's sure better off than it was 8 years ago, despite what the gop is trying to sell. Notice they've backed off the economy since the stock markets have hit record highs.
  17. So what, exactly was orielly trying to prove with the first clip? If he was defending slavery, or trying to point out that not only slaves built the white house.... what the **** was he talking about? I get that the headlines inaccurately described what he said, but come on man. Was it a history lesson? Why doesn't he fact check trump like that? Sooner he is done the better.
  18. You guys are becoming redundant. Here is the reason Clinton and Powell didn't get in trouble: there isn't a policy in place for it. Plus, Clinton used a private server after Powell did, and used the same server Bill Clinton used. This issue is stupid.
  19. That's right. Maybe he grew up in Illinois or something. No way Kirk holds on with trump on the ticket imo. He has tried to distance himself as much as he can, but i don't think it's going to matter.
  20. Did anyone watch all the speeches lay night? Wow. That is all i can say, is wow. Compare them to the rnc and it is an unbelievable contrast. The senator from Illinois Cory Booker really killed it. It is very clear where these two parties sit.
  21. If a good offer is on the table, you trade him.
  22. Are you choosing plouffe over mauer? If plouffe was hitting his career norms the discussion would be much more contentious. Nobody is pushing Sano or mauer right now. If park starts hitting and plouffe comes back, then there are issues. While mauer is the problem, and any 1b in the league hitting like him would be on the bench, nobody is forcing their hand like morneau did when he was young.
  23. Trump got his convention bump. Now leading Clinton. Yikes. The dnc better get their **** together this week. Clinton is such a flawed candidate. I wish Warren would have run. I'm still throwing my support to Johnson hoping to see him in the debates. Clinton's best shot is to make that happen. I don't know how well he'll do in the debates, but it won't help trump to have competition running with conservatism.
  24. By all means, it would be a monumental mistake to pull him off the field this early. Let him pay and learn. Keep him on a real plan over the off-season with real consequences. Many young players have issues with routine plays, that isn't a big deal. He can learn. Issue then become, we'll be waiting for the inevitable. Which isn't a big deal if it's 5 plus years away. Is anyone actually going to attempt to make a case of pulling sano off 3b right now? I was all for plouffe starting out there since Ryan left no other choice. Now, the team is losing 90 games and it's time to cut bait on the dead weight....
