    I know it's way too early, but how soon could we see Gordon in CR? Is it plausible he gets there this year?

    I agree about the Pelfrey signing simply because of the two year nature of it. Kubel and Bartlett less so simply because they didn't really block anybody and we at least got something (even if not much) out of Kubel.

    I think the inclusion of Weiters is a pretty damning indictment too....

    Willingham isn't holding back anybody even right now in his last year, Carroll was a utility who they demostrated they could trade at any moment, Doumit was a one year signing and then essentially a one year extension and traded (good move IMO), Marquis was a one year flyer, Correia is filler and will be gone shortly, Suzuki was also a one year flyer, Burton was a waiver that panned out and only recently sucked (relievers can be easily traded if performing), Capps is gone and were are still not ready to contend. I realize Correia is holding back Mays right not, but it's not for long in the scheme of things. I would also like to note that no Twins pitcher worth their salt has been injured this year. That is surely lucky, perhaps Ryan was playing the odds more and assuming at least one of Correia/Nolasco/Hughes/Gibson/Deduno would be on the DL for a while, since the odds are that 33% hit the DL at some point. Where is there a single person who has held back anybody for a full years time?

    I would trade Hughes, but only for a Shields like return and nothing else. Since that isn't likely to happen, I would keep him.

    Realistically though, at least we appear to have won the Doumit trade (don't care if Gilmartin hasn't done anything, just not having Doumit for Gardy to use is a good thing!)

    He throws 100 and already has a wicked breaking ball. He can control both pitches, what more does the kid need to be a dominating reliever?

    I keep reading that Gordon is the safest pick of the draft.

    When a guy is sent down for sucking ala Herrmann, Parmelee, Florimon it seems to me they should really struggle for a while before getting better, not instantly raking. Even 1/3 seems excessive to me, and that is now 2/3 Twins doing well in AAA despite struggling in the majors.

    Is it just me, or does it seem like every demoted Twin instantly does awesome in AAA this year?

    I would stop, that's basically betrayal. I would also probably root for the Rangers (they used to be my favorite team when I was 12 and it was A-Rod, don't hate me.)

    The signings are STILL not bad ideas, it's the use of 40 man and 25 man roster space that is the issue.

    I don't know how, but I was completely unaware that Walker was so excellent at stealing bases. I assumed with so much power, he wasn't.

    Vance Worley pitched 58 innings in 9 starts at Rochester last year, averaging over 6 innings pitched a game? So how in the world have they not have a guy go at least 5 innings at Rochester since 2006?

    I must have missed this one when I was playing in HS. Seemed like we practiced and played in snow plenty often.

    This too would be taken advantage of. Imagine a gentleman's agreement to bump up the salary by 1MM or something if they delay signing until the draft compensation was released.
