  1. 1. That is true but the Astros have many holes 2. Buxton signed for 6 mil while Correa for 4.8 so that is incorrect they could not have signed those other players. 3. True but they wanted an under slot which means that they couldn't take Appel. 4. The choice is Buxton vs. Correa and Mcullers, Berrios was a comp pick. I would still take Buxton though.
  2. Frankly I don't think anybody is going to be able to match what the Twins want. I think that the Twins should only sell Perkins for a massive overpay like Bogaerts. However I massively doubt that will happen. The only option I would be disappointed with is trading Perkins for nothing less than a projectable future impact player.
  3. Pretty sure Correa was injured for a length of time and he was definitely never considered a 2nd rounder. He was a perfectly acceptable #1 pick. That the 'Stros didn't predict Buxton's massive success is not surprising and if they had picked Buxton, we probably would have taken Correa ourselves and been happy about it.
  4. Moose and Hosmer must have read this article and taken offense...3 HR's.
  5. Since the pitches are thrown by a guy who's trying to let you hit HR's Sano would probably do quite well. I really wouldn't be surprised.
  6. It's a writeup on Dozier for Fantasy Baseball, but I thought it was an interesting read on Dozier anyways. http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/dozier-vying-to-become-legit-fantasy-option/

  8. Wouldn't Hicks in RF with Arcia in LF be a real possibility with somebody (maybe Plouffe or a FA) being the DH?
  9. A pitcher has only a part of whether or not he will get the win or not. Jeremy Hellickson pitched 7.2 with 8 ER and still won this year. He clearly did not deserve it. On the other hand Jordan Zimmerman pitched a game where he went 8 innings with 1 ER and got the loss. I would say that he deserved the win for that outing but he didn't. W-L is a TERRIBLE measure of a pitcher's success. The best example is to go look at Slowey's game logs. Can you really say he deserves a 1-5 record with those numbers?
  10. Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I like the Nelvin Fuentes line. That was pretty good.
  12. 6 organizational wins outta 6 tries, a rather good day I say.
  13. I'm not even sure that the Twinkies should draft Bryant if he's even on the board. If he was solid defensively I'd feel better about it but I'd rather see the Twinkies pull the trigger on Stewart or Shipley. Or better yet, pray to the gods that the Stro's go underslot and the Rockies take Bryant.
  14. To be fair to Dan Haren, his last few starts have been much better than the start so I could see him rebounding a bit.
  15. I'm starting to think this is the type of signing the Twins should start to use on some of their younger players like POTENTIALLY Arcia, Hicks, and other up and comers given they actually produce for at least half a season. Imagine if the Twins had been able to lock up Mauer much earlier and for much cheaper given the risk of a bust. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/05/cubs-to-sign-anthony-rizzo-to-seven-year-extension.html#disqus_thread By the way the key word here is POTENTIALLY given production in a limited time, so Arcia would be an example for consideration while Hicks would not be RIGHT NOW.

  17. Rough outing by Berrios but at least he wasn't responsible for that many runs...Bad Outing, yes. Outing that makes you reconsider everything you ever thought about him, no (although I thought so at first seeing the score!)
  18. Ideally, Morneau gets something going and the Twins can get a deal like the Beltran deal a couple of years back, but right now nobody's going to want him for much. Not even sure who they would trade him to since most playoff contenders have a good 1B. The A's?
  19. Game is pretty fun, but I had to turn the injuries down to very low. I played as the Rangers and lost every starter except Darvish and Moreland to injury. Kinda weird that everybody would get injured for a long period of time, Mark DeRosa couldn't carry the slack...
  20. You won't like me when I'm angry - Miguel Sano
  21. Outta curiosity, where was the first change located? Did he also miss his spot on that one as well?
