  1. Luck! Schmuck! The Twins have magnified their bad luck with bad play. Some by Rookies and 2nd rank players but some by Donaldson and Simmons, who have previously been elite defenders. Yeah, yeah...I suppose that is bad luck too. but if the relievers would pitch faster and throw more strikes, we wouldn't be so unhappy.
  2. thanks spycake. It seems I get easily confused these days.
  3. Hicks ! You forgot Hicks! I disliked him and I was glad when he was traded and he's a Yankee, but Hicks is a lot better than Wade. (and what about Murphy as C, who now plays for the A's) So many benefits from one trade.
  4. It is easy to forsee a lineup with Sano at first and Kiriloff in LF but... It is hard to be confident and aggressive when you don't feel 100% healthy. It may take a while for Sano to be in the lineup 5-6 days a week. In the meantime Rocco has plenty of players to juggle. He needs to keep Arraez & Austudillo in the lineup for their ability to get on base. Once Sano is healthy enough to play regularly there will be lots of juggling. I predict Donaldson won't play more than 5 times most weeks. Kepler won't play against lefty's much, until he shows that he can hit them again. Cave will be on the team, but rarely in the lineup (Garlick is not a fielder). Astidillo will catch 2 times a weej, pinch hit and occaisionally play in the field. Arraez has proved he can play 2nd base, 3rd base and Left Field without sacrificing too much defense. Polanco will probably lose the most playing time until he gets his bat back on track. Oh the possibilities. One thing for sure. I will be looking forward to each days lineup.
  5. Excuses, Alibi's and phoney justifications. Thank you. I'll take any rational to help me feel better about the season.
  6. Arraez bobbled a ball. Maybe its a hit anyway, maybe not. Simmons dropped a ball. Colome overthru the bag. Kepler dropped a catchable ball. We deserved to lose this one.
  7. Pitchers have always tried to cheat. If they get caught, let them be punished. The threat of forensics investigating the balls should be enough to cut down on the cheating. But look at it this situation: 7th inning. 2 men on. Dangerous hitter at bat. Why not use a foreign substance to increase the spin rate and make the ball move more. You get the batter out and 3 days later they suspend you because they found trace evidence on the ball. Unless the suspension is dreadfully long. You laugh it off and treat it as a vacation and your club makes sure you are repaid for the expense.
  8. Do you think "The Turtle" will make the team?
  9. Interesting viewpoint. I look at Buxton & Sano. Both were highly valued and both have had injury issues and both have yet to have a season that shows their true talent. Maybe they will or maybe they won't. I can imagine Lewis will have a similar path. Lets hope all 3 have successful careers.
  10. I don't like the idea of a player having his service time manipulated by keeping him back. A new season is a new season, and it shouldn't shorten or lengthen a players service time regardless of when he is brought up. I blame the players union. This can build up resentment between your best players and their club. Sometimes those resentments last for a career.
  11. Kiriloff, Rooker & Larnach. Could the Twins hit the jackpot with all 3 ??
  12. I agree with face...Why can't the catchers join the hitters in their locker room and spend all day with the pitchers, except when they take batting practice?
  13. I enjoyed watching Dozier play. He gave us something to cheer for.
  14. I don't think that Sano was a poor defender in 2000. However, he will have to improve if he is going to remain there.
  15. This is an interesting way to look at our competition. I hope you continue and include the top prospects for each ot the teams, as well.
  16. Well done Twins. I'd still like us to give Odo a deal, if they have a chance.
  17. I am so looking forward to watching the new Twins infield in 2021.
  18. If I am reading this right, you are listing 6 "sure thing" hitters, mostly with power, and 2 pitchers that are expected to be relievers. Some lucky team that is willing to part with a decent young pitcher will be very fortunate to make a trade with us.
  19. Thanks Ted. This gives us something else to consider as the Twins head into Spring Training.
  20. The Twins Top 20 and only 6 are pitchers. All of them RHP. 16 - Cole Sands 15 - Edwar Colina 9 - Blayne Enlow 8 - Matt Canterino 6 - Jordan Balazovic 5 - Jhoan Duran Lets hope they use these other high ranked fielders to get a couple proven pitchers.
  21. in a short season Roberts was exposed as a flawed hitter and he is headed into his sophomore jinx season. Buxton is due for a healthy season where his natural talent takes over. Moncado is a long long way from producing like Donaldson. Almost anyone would choose Twins catching over WS catching. Eaton is a forgetable player wheras Kepler has carried the Twins for weeks at a time Your analysis is as flawed in the WS direction as mine is for the Twins. Last year Abreau was better than Sano, but 2021 is a new year. Madrigal cannot compete with Arraez at bat, although he does appear to be the superior in the field.
  22. "The time is right when the time is right' - Yogi (If he didn/t say it, he could have)
  23. Since I now live far from Minnesota, I am signed up for the MLB broadcasts and I don't miss a game.
