    Let Mauer lead off. bat Suzuki or Pinto second. Let Dozier bat 3rd and put the "speed" at the end if the lineup. That will make everyone go crazy, except the Sabre-masters

    and another Dozier homer. This looks like it is going to be a Dozier Day, unless Pelfrey pitches a Quality Start.

    Once again, Dozier makes an astounding play.

    Plouffe clearly rushed the throw to home, instead of relying on the strength of his arm. If he hadn't rushed it and made a good throw, it might have been a bang bang play anyway.

    I would have been satisfied to have a rotation of Correia, Pelfrey, Deduno, Diamond and Gibson or Worley or Anthony Swarzak. They all deserve a chance to realize their potential as major league starters. Once we let them go, I'll bet one or two of them will become an effective starting pitcher on a major league team.

    You didn't mention my favorite. The Day Killebrew saved Carew's life. Opening Day 1969. Rod Carew on 3rd. Gaylord Perry pitching for the Rangers.Harmon Killebrew at the plate. Carew fakes a steal of home and Perry ignores him. The next pitch Carew goes to steal home and Killebrew almost killed Carew with a 1/2 swing. He stopped his swing at the last second and Carew was safe. You had to be there.

    Players that have been away from the game as long as Bartlett usually have a hard time hitting Major League hitting. I'm not sure he would be a hitting improvement over Florimon and he would definitely NOT be a fielding upgrade. I'd be shocked if he made the Twins Roster out of Spring Training.

    Usually, when a pitcher is nearing 100 pitches and he only uses around 15 or less pitches to finish his last inning, the Twins leave him in the game for another inning. If he breezes through that inning, they will leave him in for another. I watch or listen to almost all Twins games and I rarely disagree with timing of when they bring in a reliever. That is one of the reasons I support Gardy/Andy is that the pitchers have earned the right to pitch another inning. I remember, about 20 years ago, or so, there was a study out that said exactly that pitchers tend to pitch the next game more poorly after pitching around 115+ innings in the previous game. Somewhere between 100 & 110 pitches was ideal. I have looked for this study online, but I haven't found it.

    Let Pressley continue in long relief. If, after another successful year, we still need a righthand starter, then the Twins can try him out. I see no reason to send him back to AAA for any reason at this time.

    Trading rule #1 Never trade a big league bat for an arm unless a. The bat is old b. The bat is flawed (see Delmon Young) c. Unless you get at least 2 arms (May & Worley for Revere) Span for Meyers will probably prove to be a very bad trade. Trading Rule #2 Never trade a top batting prospect unless a. You have a superstar playing that position already. b. That player has flaws, known only to your organization. c. Unless you are on the verge of winning a pennant.

    That is 9 rookies. 9. and we complain about the Twins record ? 9 rookies ! this is not counting Pinto & Tomkin. 9 rookies is sure a lot.

    Very few managers are allowed to stay long enough to turn around a bad team. They are fired before they have the chance. Eric Wedge would have gotten the same or better results from this Cleveland team.

    sorry... haters is the word nowadays, isn't it ? I know that people who want a change don't hate Gardy and Andy. And I was just tweaking the people with negative comments. in 2011 Pavano, Baker, Blackburn all went down. Slowey was proved inadequate and Lirianno became worse than inconsistent. That was when it all went wrong for us. I do think that a young, inexperienced team needs a cool, steady hand rather than change. A clubhouse does not need a new voice when the current voice is the right voice and is saying the right things at the right time.

    Duensing and Swarzak have improved greatly since they failed as starters. They seem far more likely to provide Quality Starts than the current crop. Even if the Twins decide to go with a 4 man rotation, Duensing and Swarzak should be given a chance to stretch out and compete for a starters job during spring training.

    We've had Mauer behind the plate for most of 10 outstanding years. He can play 1B and give us superior defense there. He has the ability to alter hist swing and give us more power. I say, "Thank you Joe. May you give us 10 more years at 1B."
