  1. Houston wins again. They keep putting the pressure on the Indians to win for home field.
  2. Pretty much how I feel. After 2015 and just missing, 2016 should have been improvement, like this year, and just getting in the Playoffs. 2017.... this year, Division champion and a real threat all season. 2016 is not forgotten for me. I feel they have underperformed twice, because this year should have been the 3rd in an upward progression, and much better if 2016 had not been such a total collapse. Granted... the pitching. Or lack of it, might be a better way to regard it. And mostly.... I just think he had his 3 years, and is not the guy to move forward with. As much as I think parting with Meintkevitz was not a good move, I think moving on from Molitor would be. It would have been interesting to see Meintkevitz managing during these last three years, but we will never know how that would have turned out.
  3. My personal hell. Colon and Duffey. Damn.
  4. Oh-oh! Tie game. Better pull Colon.
  5. If Buxton gets to first before the ball is caught.... shouldn't he be safe?
  6. Ha. No error for Mauer. Slipped through the crack.
  7. It was foolish to even give him the start.
  8. Two run lead..... time to pull Colon!
  9. There is no buying out. The contract is over after this year, unless it is extended before it expires. Expired. Completed. Finished. Anything else is a new deal.
  10. The Twins currently have the longest winning streak in MLB. At 4. Take that, Cleveland. Take it while you can. Colon is getting the start. And Cleveland is 1.5 games back of home field if they get to the World Series, and only 2 up on Houston for ALCS home field. Do you think they want to sweep this series?
  11. Exactly. An expired contract is not firing. But some seem to embrace it here as the same thing.
  12. Really? Is that why so many of the bunt attempts are putrid? And Still? This is something that should have been done, if it was going to be so over used, in the preseason. If the way this team bunts is correctly, then there is a real problem. I am not saying Molitor is horrible. He has surely been an assest in many ways. I am saying that he is not the right guy to move forward. Just as Theo went with Maddon, it is time. Paul got his three years. Thank you Paul, and Paul should thank the Twins.
  13. Colon is not even a real Minnesota Twin. He is a cast off. And you really need to look at his whole season, here. I do. The lucky month is the outlier. If you want him around to eat with the young guys, and talk to them, etc, ..... make him a coach. He can pitch batting practice.
  14. ..... and how did that work for the last 11 games of 2010 and the subsequent playoff appearance?
  15. Ha. It's just the last straw. The last thing that tips the mousetrap. Seriously. 4 games in a row and a 9.17 era. And he starts him again. Makes me vomit.
  16. I vote to not renew or extend him. His contract is up. The agreement has been kept. The players are young. It is time. MOY. Certainly premature supposition. Plus, he is starting Colon again instead of skipping him. That's on the manager. That is enough to end this chapter right there.
  17. There are others that could pitch the filler games. Besides, when Gardenhire decided to rest the troops after clinching in 2010, it started the culture of losing. Stay hot, stay focused, and try to win every game. It is good practice.
  18. Great points. But when you are playing a team that is as amazingly hot as Cleveland has been, it seems it doesn't matter who pitches against them. It might be best to not have any of them pitch against Cleveland in the upcoming 3 game series! Oh wait.... we still haven't clinched the Wild Card! Realistically, it is going to take a best of season pitching performance against the Yankees and Cleveland to have a chance. And you have to go with the best we have, even though, including Santana and Berrios, unless they are absolutely on their game, it will take the bats to win any games.
  19. Great point...... I think you are absolutely right!
  20. Get rid of Colon. It sets up fine to just skip him. Forever I hope. And Please, if the Yankees fall in the Wild Card Game, leave Colon off the playoff roster. He can pitch batting practice. @CLE 9/26: Mejia @CLE 9/27: Gibson @CLE 9/28: Santana DET 9/29: Berrios DET 9/30: Bullpen game - with Gibson taking an inning or two depending DET 10/1: Mejia AL WC 10/3: Santana ALDS G1 10/5: Berrios ALDS G2 10/6: Gibson ALDS G3 10/8: Santana
  21. Great to see Kepler heating up. We need him. Hell, we need ALL the bats to be alive with this pitching staff that has no real consistent shutdown starter or reliever. The offense has to be able to outscore the opposition. I hope they get a chance to come from behind a couple times in late innings and win, especially against Cleveland, and build confidence for the playoff game(s).
  22. It matters to me. Initiation always matters to me.
