  1. Humans are so easily fooled and swayed from the truth, eh?
  2. Gotta love the Pressly/Presley matchup. Pressley squared.
  3. Umps can be soooooo inadequate. How about that 5th pitch call, apologists!
  4. Gibson just can't get the ball down much tohight.
  5. That's right.... Gibson's pitching. Lots of runs probably coming.
  6. how does Gimenez not score on that double.......
  7. coming off not hitting at all....... i like an easier first at bat myself.
  8. Just an M and an E...... ME!
  9. My votes are considering a full season. If you are hurt, you are still out, and not at all valuable for that period. Plus, regardless of how baseball selects an all-star, I think it takes more that a hot first couple months of the season to actually be an all-star, and the only thing that saved a dubious MLB record for K's was injury. Dozier played a whole year. Rosario, regardless of some of his bonehead plays, did too, and came up clutch. Buxton was valuable even when he hit nothing because of his defense, but he was tragically bad at the plate, a virtual black hole, for half a season. Santana got us started, and was inconsistently consistent throughout the year. Mauer just kept getting better. Recency? I think that the posters here are pretty aware. I don't go to stats for my vote. I just go from my memory and feelings, and I paid pretty good attention, and cast my votes.
  10. 1. Dozier 2. Rosario 3. Buxton 4. Santana 5. Mauer honorable mention: Sano and Polanco
  11. Exactly. Maybe to build his confidence? Well, that didn't happen. It always amazes me how pitchers that perform well under stress, often don't do as well without it, and seem to not be quite as intense. I hope they play the last three to win. I hate not keeping an intensity that will be required to win and go past the Wild Card game. Gardenhire let the team "rest" and tune up for the playoffs for the last 11 games in 2010. They were never the same, as they limped home @ 2-8, and lost the best record first seed. I am a firm believer in momentum and a winning culture (regardless of what happened in '87, and they lost the last 5 games of the season).
  12. It's all because of the shutdown bullpen they put together... and the 9 plus September era starter. Genius!
  13. Tying run at the plate. 3 hits. No give up. Not bad. Cleveland has now won 30 of last 33. We can take the 3 game series tomorrow with Santana on the mound. Not bad. Mejia.... not so good......
  14. 12 Ks and 2 hits after 8 innings batted. You weren't hoping for momentum from yesterday, were you?
  15. Cleveland is deciding on Salazar and Clevinger, and we get to see guys like Colon, Tonkin for the umteenth time be the same as he ever was, Boshers, Pressly, etc. Big difference in these two teams on the mound.
  16. Our announcers are such whiners about the expanded rosters. I love it. Yeah, it is different. But it is wonderful. This is exactly why it is in play. To give teams a chance to see what they got before they have to DFA people for the off season and rule 5, and to see what they have for the playoffs. Crybabies. I love the rule.
  17. This is the team that has only lost 3 of 32 or something like that, and needs to keep winning to stay ahead of Houston for home field. Highly motivated. Smart.
  18. How can we NOT throw a terrible reliever? When we are behind by 3 and have 2 hits in mid to late innings....
  19. I took some of it as complimenting his total performance.... hmmm. But good observations.
  20. 2 runs because of a walk/HBP and a throwing error. Both with 2 outs. We'd still be behind 1-0 6 innings batted with only 2 hits.
  21. 2012 -2017 Adding a 2nd Wild Card era. Bingo. Only took 6 years. Teams around .500 can now, some seasons, be a playoff team. I am not discounting the accomplishment, but pointing out something that is a significant change that was recently added.
  22. Wow. 3 balls to Buxton. Three swinging strikes instead.
  23. Another dead red first pitch take by the mauer.
  24. I score an error for Dozier, or should I call him..... ahem..... Dr. Clutch?
