  1. What the hell is Buxton doing bunting here?
  2. Polanco must have missed a hit and run sign at the end of that last inning. No reason for Mauer to be trying to steal there. Or maybe Mauer did. My bet is it was Polanco. And he took an easy pitch to at least touch with his bat to protect the runner.
  3. I get that it's not prospects. But Tonkin has spent multiple years in the show for some time. I think that would disqualify him more than all the others. Thanks for the (non?) clarification, though. Fuzzzy voting, I get it, now. Thanks for the reply.
  4. I don't quite understand how Tonkin can be considered, especially since he had spent so much time in the show. He certainly has as many, and without looking it up, I would say more innings in the majors than Hildenberger. So I am not saying either shouldn't be considered, but I don't understand what disqualifies someone from your award. Busenitz has been wonderful in his appearances in the show, Curtiss pretty awful (and I see that two of the voters didn't even have him in their top 5, and Cody Christie didn't have Curtiss or Anderson in his top 5), and Wimmers, Rucinski, and Turley, also saw time up, but were still in the mix. What was the line drawn that made someone ineligible? And congrats to your winner, Curtiss.
  5. Moya is either not set, or he is set several times. There is really no difference and enough time still.
  6. And we play the White Sox and Tigers 38 times a year (almost equal won-loss records as the Giants and Padres) and are only 5 games above .500 and the Diamondbacks are 22. So what's your point? That this means nothing? Mybe not, but it is to our credit that we beat the Diamondbacks, who just swept the Dodgers, twice. I certainly to not underestimate the Diamondbacks, at this point, and the Padres have been doing OK lately, and it is again to the Twins credit that they are pouncing on this team. And....... I remember the KC series with the 17-0 win in the middle of two losses.
  7. Garver..... I call Garver going yard in the 8th.
  8. idk, I guess one should just discount that they are 83-61 overall.
  9. Tonkin looks like a tall Opie Taylor with a beard.
  10. This is the same Padres that just took 2 of 3 from Arizona, and swept the Dodgers, who swept us..... but then, everyone is sweeping them now.
  11. Or keep him on rhythm, confident, and strong.
  12. And Cleveland with a massive need not to have him pitch the innings. Good for Francona. I hope Molitor pays notice.
  13. All that time Perkins had to get himself in shape, and he looks softer and 20 lbs heavier.
  14. Gibson in total control, with a low pitch count, and gets no chance to pitch a shutout. I get it, and why, with all the pitchers there is to take a look at, but it still blows. And as a die hard Gibson supporter, never giving up on him, I say for him once more to all those that did and have..... while I have the opportunity...... "Bite Me"!
  15. Soooo..... What did the melancholy librarian say when the book fell on her head?
  16. This sure is fun! I wish some of these hits and runs could be saved for one run games, though. I remember KC.
  17. Press your luck long enough, and the inevitable will happen, and repeat itself. Nothing sexy about it. And Molitor only has Busenitz throw 5 pitches in 5 days, 6 with the day off coming.
  18. Fine. The more clunkers, the less likely he will be "around" to literally be "rolled out" more next season. Clunk away.
  19. I bet the Braves would call that folly. I would call that foolish. Colon has only had one clunker since he was added? I'd have to go back and count, but seemed 3 out of the first 4 would qualify, too. And there was another on in there since and before this one. Best to not see another clunker.
  20. If Mejia doesn't replace Colon, it will be a real shame.
  21. Lost in this pitching debacle, and Rochester replacement team now on the field, is that our 1 through 4 batters went 0-13, with an OBP of .000. In September, we haven't been able to win one of the three series, all against teams with a losing record, while hanging on to the 2nd wild card.
  22. Smart. AND.... they know how to bunt.
  23. We don't swing at first pitches. No way. We watch the meat. We swing at pitches out or on the edge of the zone later in the count.
