  1. Trevor Hildenberger just recently gave up another 2/2 inherited runners scored to add to the 7/7 stretch at the beginning of the year....... which is not thst far behind us.... to make 9 that I can remember without looking them up to see if there is more. Inherited runners scored, to me, is the most important stat to indicate the effectiveness of a reliever. It is, after all, supposed to be relief, and not let the runs be charged to someone else, and I still look OK with the other stats. I certainly don't think Hildenberger is the long term answer, but he is what we have.
  2. A one week of slowing down, and that negates the rest of the year? He had weeks like this in AA, too. He will have weeks like this in the Show. What he has been proving, with the whole sample size, and not just the couple weeks in AAA, is that this is the outlier, and not the trend. Sure, just keep him put, and waste it in the minors instead of seeing if he can help the only team that counts. Nobody is ever sure of readiness, until the opportunity is present. No one can know unless the opportunity is given. It surely can't hurt the big league team to see, at this point.
  3. Mauer 0/10 with 2 strikeouts and no walks? More than ready for the current Twins' offense, eh?
  4. Try to trade Sano now! Talk about a total devaluation of a very high value asset since Falvine took the reigns. Their fault? Not necessarily, but happening under their watch. This all is. And it is not going very well, as a whole, eh? This was the year that it all was to fall into place.........
  5. This is now one horrible team. So totally disappointing. Can't even win a series against the Tigers. The Falvey/Levine coaches seem to have no inspiration or ability of right the ships either, and throughout the minors, too. So much for the change in leadership. For those of us that wanted to see Doug Mientkiewicz get the manager's job instead of Molitor, and stuck up for him when fired..... how is he doing?..... 39-25 for Detroit's AAA team. the Toledo Mud Hens. Still winning, inspiring his players who love to play for him, no matter where he is. But not good enough for this FO. Very telling.
  6. Exactly. It could have been 8-7. The one run lead in the 8th is the only important point at this time in the game.
  7. True, but the fact is he is sooo hitable. Every pitch can be touched and made contact with. And a single is a single is a single. In the end, it doesn't really matter. Every batter was hitting the ball.
  8. I just threw up again tonight when I thought about the Belisle signing........
  9. Regardless of the offense, they had the lead after 7. Molitor chooses to give it to Reed. Keeps doing the same thing and expects different results. 5 out of the last 6, now, isn't it? Hello Magill. Stick a fork in Reed. This is sickening.
  10. Is the second pitch 93 mph fastball right down the middle to Escobar a "mistake" when he swings and misses?
  11. Belisle was the dirge of the Cleveland bullpen that is in shambles, the bottom of the heap, the chaff to get rid of, the pitcher to cull. If this is the "move that the front office is giving Molitor and the team, a veteran, in an attempt to win this year", then the FO has lost their mind. Seth listed the pitchers in AAA. I am one disgusted 58 year Twins fan.
  12. Matt Belisle to the rescue! And a damaged May and Santana, and an out of practice Polanco are on the way, too. And don't forget that other damaged and overweight tourist pitcher in the wings. Yup, anything can happen.
  13. This is the FO looking to the future? This makes me sick.
  14. Are you talking about the voting booth? Or Baseball?
  15. I find that if I want to know something about someone or something, I can find out tons just by looking for it. If I just ingest the "marketing", I likely will still not really know much, and what I know will be designed to sell me something, instead of really be educating me. If you can't find anything about Mike Trout, then you aren't really trying. And if you don't just ingest the marketing, you might find details like that his dad, Jeff Trout, was in the Twins' system and quit baseball when Ron Gardenhire was traded for and took his spot in AAA that he deserved and earned (his AA stats were off the charts), and the Twins then wanted Jeff to go play in AA for a third year....... Gardenhire could very well be the reason Mike Trout is around, for if his dad wouldn't have quit then, there probably would have been no Mike... Jeff would not have stopped and started a family.....some other child of theirs later, but no Mike. The timing of the creation of Mike Trout might be Gardenhire's greatest accomplishment, little known that it is. My source for the info was in this cover article in 2012... by Tom Verducci https://www.sportsmemorabilia.com/sports-products/2012-sports-illustrated-mike-trout-anaheim-angels-signed-magazine-psadna-coa.html?sku=8024692&utm_source=SportsMem_PLA&utm_medium=cse&gclid=Cj0KCQjwu_jYBRD8ARIsAC3EGCKt3Uv9vZ6Z9UVtV2GW6qtUmt-ejusht9xRzGn1XY-biJvDjrdBivgaAi6_EALw_wcB
  16. Sano needs to ride buses for a couple of weeks. And learn to wait, and swing naturally. Time for the message two weeks ago.
  17. Three times now, in this game, a base runner on first only made it to 3rd on a double, and didn't score. Grossman twice, and now Garver.
  18. Maybe. I can't, however. He had plenty of time, for the grizzly vet that he is, and he kept throwing on his own. He didn't come to camp unprepared. And regardless, each and every appearance counts. He said he was ready. I am not one to say he doesn't know what he is talking about. And a player can only get one qualifying offer, now (at least two years old rule, I believe), so no comp pick or anything else. I saw Nolasco have good months, too. That didn't fool me either. Nor other GM's that could have acquired him.
  19. Reed in with a 4 run lead in the 7th. Overuse seems to not even enter Moltior's mind.
  20. I'm sorry. I didn't mean the updates. Just being snarky in regards to the draft. I truly appreciate the tracking, and your work.
  21. Nothing to see here. Looks like I didn't miss anything.
  22. Lynn's implosion to start the year can just be thrown out the window? Remember, this is after TJ surgery that took 2016 and some of 2017. A good month can be disregarded very easily for Gibson, but for Lynn? I won't be holding my breath for a substantial return if Lynn is traded. He still has to pitch well for another month. That is yet to be seen. I hope he does.
  23. Add the 2 inherited runners scored to Reed's 4 earned in the last 5 innings (it was the first game of this run). Those runs lost a game, too. The pen is imploding, and Militor has worn out the two that were doing the best. Not anymore.
  24. Coaches are there to help fix, find changes, for the batters that aren't hitting, no? When a player hits, no matter what they are doing, there is no coaching. Leave them alone. They coach themselves and develop confidence. Now...... when that reverses, and the batter is struggling.... now you coach them. In the end, it is all on the player to be the player. Most of the time, the off field activity isn't involved at the plate. The batter just isn't performing.
  25. I am sorry. Almost always almost always means almost always to me. In fact, it does. Not almost always, but always. Does it to you? In regards to Revere, when he did hit .300, he always had a job, regardless of the power stats.
