  1. Pressly = worthless for the last month.
  2. Hey... when did playing a catcher, or any position player, out of position, ever bother the Twins Way, anyway? It is still common for the Twins to bring someone up, and then play him at a position he hasn't been playing, or never has played, and then ask him to do it in the show. If they play Astudillo out of position enough to make it his new position, then when they bring him up and he plays catcher, they will be following their MO and playing him out of position by having him catch again. It all makes Twinsense to me.
  3. It's like Mauer can't really see the ball well again.... and he's not talking.
  4. Aw come on, that is just too simple for the sabrmatic mindset.
  5. The right call is never the wrong call, even if it is called wrong and the pompous umpire wants it to be right. Sticking up for it just makes him look even more pathetic, I think. If the original call is wrong, I hope it is fixed, even if it is against my chosen team. I hate wrongs calls being converted to right by some stupid irresponsible outdated rule, just because an umpire called it incorrectly.
  6. 11 hits in 6 inning? Pretty terrible, today, in my book. And I am a consistent Gibson supporter, and not a fair weather one.
  7. Bobby Wilson, the .145 thunder turning the order around. The fire on the base paths.
  8. Some would call that 5th pitch to Cave, right down the pipe, a mistake. I guess it is only a mistake if the batter can hit mistakes.
  9. Just stopped by to see the fandom excitement. 1 hit off Shields? Nothing to see here, I guess.
  10. .... but let me (you) take this opportunity to be political? hmmm... especially when it is total pat on the back opinion. Perhaps The Sports Bar forum is the place to discuss this high class? http://twinsdaily.com/forum/12-the-sports-bar/
  11. Two ways to virtually say the same thing. Respect is a judgement. One that doesn't focus.... is lazy. One way uses imagery, and the other seems to come from a suit and tie. But they both say the same thing.
  12. #1 can't handle AAA pitching so far this year, either. And #3 can't handle high A yet, either. Oh... but let us be kind...... it is a small sample size.... Personally, I think they both just need better, more effective coaching at the MLB level. That is the pitching they need to learn to hit.
  13. Should we review the TD posters' preseason projections for Buxton and Sano? Maybe MVP meant something other than MVP?
  14. I don't know. Who's on first.
  15. ?? Here is no error in the official box.... am I missing something?
  16. But apparently, you can stay on the prospect list here on TD indefinitely....... like Garver..... wait! There is no longer a #15! Perhaps you can finally not be a prospect on this list! Exactly. Did the full game yesterday with a homer and 2 Ks call for a rest? Is he OK?
  17. Any time Wilson gets a hit, it is a monumental event. If there is an RBI included, one may feel the earth rumble.
  18. Good thing we have a pitcher! It seems that is the only way this team will win these days. Pitchers just can't give up any runs to win. Just ask Gibson. We need to clone Berrios. Thankfully, they did get 2 runs and the pen didn't blow it. It is nice to win a close game. Colon had an ERA just under 10.00 (9.87)for the month of June, coming into this game. And this team could only score 2 runs! He has been pitching like this.... 3.1 innings and 8 runs.... https://www.mlb.com/gameday/rangers-vs-dodgers/2018/06/12/530408#game_state=final,game_tab=box,game=530408 and this.....3.0 innings and 6 runs.... https://www.mlb.com/gameday/rangers-vs-angels/2018/06/01/530267#game_state=final,game_tab=box,game=530267 but the Twins make him look good.
  19. Bye Bye Belisle!
  20. Wow! All but one other in Fort Myers hit ferociously except Sano. In High A ball! Talk about devaluing an asset. Nooooo. Don't trade him. I mean, could you even trade him now? For high value? The only thing you can do is hope he starts hitting. Now 25..... it is not like he is a kid anymore. At least he walked 2 times to go with 2 Ks in the 0-4.
  21. Tyler Jay - a totally failed top 10 draft pick. A college conversion to starter then not conversion to starter and still getting torched in AA ball after 3 years. Add him to the list.
  22. Maybe. It is nice to have someone that can play lots of positions in the field. But not everyone has to. Maybe just one player has to have this versatility. These days, it seems that players can be versatile, but are negatives at every position they play in the field! It might behoove a team to just cultivate a player at the one position, and then play him at the position when called up. Then you have a good fielding (hopefully) player at every position, instead of a bunch of players that are a liability at every position they play, even though the manager thinks they can be plugged in anywhere. I hate it when I watch a game, and just about every player is playing out of position, or not their best position, just to accommodate the lack of the right player for the position. And who the hell is Rupp, anyway? Just another cast off that nobody else wanted. Not the catcher we want, right?
  23. It's a lineup saved for the hometown crowd. Nothing but the best.
