  1. No problem. There are a ton of drafted SS that can't play SS to watch flail in center field.
  2. All that cocky narcissistic selfie pic crap, scrap meat roll being their spirit animal, and here they are. It looks even more foolish, now.
  3. They could always enlist Tonya Harding and need an injury replacement.......
  4. Lewis used up all his "hero" last year. The biggest mistake he is guilty of, is perhaps, "I don't do slumps". Lewis is reminding me of Danny Valencia, who had an incredible last half of a season to start his career, and was toast after. Never was really given a position, but was used mostly at third.
  5. ..... only after they let the meat go by down the middle, and the close pitches on the edges of the zone looking for walks.
  6. Time to replace the starter with the dregs of the bullpen. Encouraging.
  7. Because they listened to the fancy stat guys say "RBI are a meaningless stat" and they didn't matter, and it is all luck? And were busy trying to get walks?
  8. And maybe called third strikes, maybe total called strikes. They sure like to watch close pitches begging for walks. But I have no data. Don't know how to look it up. But it feels like that watching these games.
  9. Batting practice day for Ober. 6 hits and 7 outs. Chumping it.
  10. Morneau might need a sub sometime.... 😇
  11. Pretty sure, eh? Translate: you actually have no clue and it is all repeated supposition.
  12. Neither was Santana. They both either thought the only chance was the other guy or that it would go foul. Pathetic effort. First Lopez, and now Ober. Leading the rotation. Good thing they had a day off to get some energy going. This team has turned into a real joke. Maybe the crowd should all leave early to give them a very strong message.
  13. “The problem wasn’t the decision-making—it was the options available” The options available are perhaps the largest part of the decision making, especially now. In fact, in this case, it was the decision.
  14. How about that pace? Yup. Pace does not exist. No need to ever really project it. Individually, or as a team. But hang on to it if you must, pacers. Baldelli was announced to be next up after the break on the post game, but he was a no show. Then sent out the kid, Matthews, instead. Talk about leadership. Oh well. Maybe he was in the clubhouse injecting the high paid vets and best in MLB bullpen and fearsome mostly low average and mostly mediocre OPS offense with that famous Baldelli inspiration. Or maybe he was attending to all the players that say they are better than this and trying to stop them from all choking in 28 part unison. All expanding the playoffs does is put teams that don't deserve to be competing for the championship into the mix, and tends to give us a World Series of at least one mediocre team on a streak, instead of the World Series that teams actually earned the right to be there in the playoffs AND the marathon regular season.
  15. This team would rather pop up and strikeout, than advance a runner with a bunt.
  16. And once again, they just watch a close pitch for strike 3. Pathetic. 0-30. Nice round number, eh, Baldelli?
  17. Unbelieveable that Baldelli will just keep slamming his head against the wall and pinch hit 0-29 Margot. Slow learner.
  18. And with the bases loaded and one out, game tied in the 10th, Correa and Buxton are coming up. The money men. The franchise men. No hero among them. Otani got twice as many hits as the Twins did, all by himself, today. But that post game talk by Baldelli was sooooo inspiring that I am sure they will now win out. So inspired they will finally perform again. Done deal. That man just oozes inspiration.
  19. Meanwhile, earlier, in the 6th, Correa watched a perfect pitch for called strike three for the 2nd out of the inning with runners on first and second, as he got the perfect center center straight fastball as middle middle as can be with no movement, and watched it, betting on a breaking pitch. Very sad. You can't hit the ball, and close pitches that should be really good pitches, it you don't even swing.
  20. The Big Choke. Less than a month ago they were 17 games over .500. If they just could play .500 ball.......... just win one lose one........ Ober is really getting screwed by his teammates these last games. They can't field, they can't relieve until let his baserunners score. They can't hit until the game is almost over against a very mediocre starter. Fitting that Steer started it all and Wallner can't make the play. And the fiery manager found a way to let Ober go 90 today. Stretching him out. But same old story handed down to him by the best bullpen in MLB.
  21. The thing is, all those hits matter. And even if the batter doesn't get a hit, they are making tons of contact. Lots of people on base. I don't think it is out of line to note that, or to have expectations of players. That is why they are all on the team. Because they are expected to perform to their best potential and ability. It is not out of line to be disappointed when they don't. That is part of being a fan. I think that he is somehow tipping his pitches. Even his heater is getting a ton of contact. Even he himself has said he is not having a good year, and even Rivera had a bad year (but I can't remember when that was..... ). And both Jeffers and Vazquez call a ton of breaking pitches to start the at bat. And in very important counts. All hits count, and especially to the tune of a ,326 batting average against.
