    I don't think that would matter. People just don't go to MLB games much in Florida, Tampa or Miami, which always seemed odd to me, as Florida houses the Grapefruit League!

    Can't one follow and talk about what Cruz does without it being second guessing? Yes, they can, and will. How did Strotman and Ryan do for the Twins?     Yup. I agree that Cruz was to be traded. There is a choice of who he is traded for, though. Prospects make for great reading and there is always the yearly prospect book......

    Prospects. Whooppee. More hope and dreams prospects. Just what this team doesn't need. Back of the rotation pieces. Isn't that all we already have? We need good and better MLB players. Not prospects. But such is the "box" now, and formula. Did it win a single playoff game yet? I guess one just stays in the box and goes for the 10 year plan again.

    You have to be kidding me. Colome with the bases loaded? Giving any pitcher in our pen 3 inherited runners is a recipe for disaster. Probably on the first couple of pitches.

    There really isn't any need for Sano to swing with a 2 strike count, unless it is 3-2, and maybe the percentages would say even then. The pitcher is going to just throw it outside at the bottom of the zone level. It will be a ball. But Sano just has to swing at it, every time it seems. They should just give Sano the take sign, perhaps, and go with the odds, like the shift.

    Delmon Young in left field...... And scored a triple. Yup. A single and two base error scored a triple.

    This outing reminds me of Johan Santana. He would pitch a 2 hitter, both homers, and lose the game (or win, but too many times would get no run support). "deGrom'ed" before deGrom. Berrios is by far the most consistent starter we have, and all teams would love to have him. I know I want to see him paid and stay.

    I'm still in this one. I like watching Berrios pitch. Works fast. Focused. And skips off the mound at times. 2Ks in the first. I'm still interested...... so far.

    Yes. All but the last inning. Seems Jeffers could use some time in AAA, too. He can't hit a lick either in the show these days (except he did today). Berrios needs to have a 7 inning stellar outing to win this game, as the pen is pretty bleak for him after game 1.

    It seemed to me, watching Simmons pat his chest as he walked in with Gordon, that the communication was made and that Simmons bailed or felt that Gordon wasn't going to stop and bailed. Simmons was owning the horror of what had just happened. Without hearing from Simmons and Gordon, all is just supposition on what happened as it was apparent that either could have caught the fly if the other wasn't there. Gordon was playing deep, and got a horrible jump, but the fly was in the sky for plenty of time. The Baldelli assumption that they both lost the ball ...... seems conjured up by Baldelli for the press conference, as he had to say something that could be sold. “It’s obviously a hard way to lose a ballgame; a game that we played pretty hard in,” manager Rocco Baldelli said. “It’s a tough time to be in the field and have to go get some kinds of fly balls. Obviously, Nick lost that one in the sky.” One would think that Simmons would speak out about it, as the veteran. They both made the decision to not hit the other. Probably the right decision, considering the season. No need to take each other out for with no stakes on the line in this dreadful season. “We are challenging our guys and we are sending them out there in unfamiliar spots and seeing what they can do,” Baldelli said. “And this is going to happen. It’s not something you ever want to deal with or you want to see, but when it does happen, you understand why it happened.”
