  1. Luck. You make your luck. The Twins just play horribly.
  2. Not to continue this tangent, but this and done. It looks like Ynoa isn't too smart, though.... "Ynoa broke his hand after punching the dugout in frustration following a tough outing yesterday against the Brewers, and will now spend approximately two months or more in recovery. It’s a very unfortunate setback for a player who has become an unexpectedly big part of Atlanta’ rotation this season."
  3. Hope vs Reality. I take Reality. This trade still only sucks. Looking like the Expert Pitching Identifiers in the FO laid a monster egg on trading Huascar Ynoa (who is looking like a stud for the Braves) for Jaimie Garcia flipped for Enns and Littell. Is anyone still believing these guys can select and develop top notch pitching? I sure don't.
  4. Donaldson steps into the path of the runner that would have been out at second like he is trying to take a charge on the Basketball court. Stands/moves right in the basepath, in the runners way, trying to impede him or slow him down. I guess that ump didn't think that was interference or obstruction, because NO CALL. Intentional and malicious, and not the "runner stick my arm out so I touch the defender that isn't in the basepath anyway".
  5. Exactly. I plainly see Andrus reaching out with his elbow, moving a bit out of baseline. Thank you. Judgement call. Umpire made it. He was wrong. Andrus is laughing at ump as a sucker. I get all you are saying. I know the rule. They would not have touched anyway. I have eyes and can still see.
  6. Andrus put his elbow out and ran into our catcher, not the other way around. Easy to see. They don't touch unless he does. You are imagining things, I believe.
  7. Happy for you that you think a pitcher does his job perfectly when he is called in FOR RELIEF with the bases loaded and no outs.... AND ALL THE RUNNERS INHERITED SCORE. ALL OF THEM. I know what happened and how (one can watch the game and not be part of the game thread, eh?). Miss bats and things are different. That would be perfect in my book. Relief is not letting all the runners score. I know Duffey had help. He is still on the mound called in for relief, not to open the faucet. The ump should never have called interference. It did get to that point, and the runner should have been called out. Period. Umpire made a horrible call. Well documented. Easy to see on replay. Hate the catcher if you like, if that makes you happy. I have already adressed that he had other options, and should have done them. But the umpire made the call that was horrible, and the wrong call. And I won't call your behavior stupid, even if you call mine stupid.
  8. Totally agree that the correct play was to run the runner all the way back to third. But in regard to blaming teammates for not yelling.... how does someone playing in the show, especially as a catcher, not know that? Or someone playing in the lowest levels of the minors, even? Still, the umpire made a horrible call. Flopping in baseball. These are our times.
  9. If a batter moves his arm into the pitch, is it the pitchers fault for throwing it inside over the plate and it is still a strike, if not for the batter moving elbow into the ball? Rortvedt doesn't touch Andrus. Andrus reaches out and touches Rortvedt. The umpire never should have made that call. Flopping Andrus should have been called out, as he was. Sometimes players like to cheat to win. Anything to win. Hrbek comes to mind.....
  10. 3 inherited runners, 3 inherited runners scored. If it ain't about the flop, it ain't about any other excuses.
  11. Lots of details to moan about. One that will get lost in it all.... Duffey - three inherited runners. Three inherited runners scored. It never ends. Donaldson - just wow. Simmons can't throw now (4 errors so far this year) and Donaldson can't catch an easy throw. That was a double play and out of the top half of the 9th. Instead, that's the loss and the ball game.
  12. "Miguel Sano's homer only had an exit velocity of 99.8 mph and had an expected batting average of .120." How a ball that goes off the bat at 100mph and goes over the fence comfortably has an expected batting average of .120 is just BS. Crazy talk. How has stats come to this?
  13. Exactly. And Rogers is a 5 of 6 inherited runners scored at 3.21 ERA/0-1 W-L/2 blown saves out of 4 chances. When it comes to relievers, since the job is relief, IRS and %IRS is the best indicator of if they did their job and provided relief, rather than pass the runs given up to their teammates.
  14. I vote ABSOLUTELY NOT. NEVER. 10 THOUSAND FOREVERS BEFORE THAT SHOULD HAPPEN.
  15. Good thing they are saving Rogers, Duffey, Robles, and Colome to blow future saves. No need wasting them in games that they can't blow saves. With the camo hat, they don't even look like a baseball team, anyway. And I could still see them lose.
  16. “Horses run around the track. Players run around the bases. Same skill set, same concept. To suggest otherwise is a perfect example of cancel culture, frankly.” Sometimes things can be so simple one just can't see it. Bring on the BOB! Reel them in, Stu!
  17. hmmmmm...... must be doing something wrong. 01521MINAL461381291627712622644.209.250.326.5765742112008/H201622MINAL923312984467196103810223118.225.284.430.71490128234308/H201723MINAL14051146269117146165129138150.253.314.413.7289319114522*8/HDMVP-18,GG201824MINAL289490814400450328.156.183.200.383518101008/HD201925MINAL87295271487130410461431968.262.314.513.827116139322118/HD202026MINAL39135130193330132721236.254.267.577.84412775210208MVP-16202127MINAL249892193410091750423.370.408.7721.1802367102000*87 Yrs4561602147222336387176018967995467.247.297.451.7489966410131483162 Game Avg.16256952379129316216724334166.247.297.451.7489923645531
  18. Run expectancy again, eh? How is that working for the Twins in the tenth? The almighty expectancy is not the end all. Especially in baseball.
  19. Premature to think that, I think. Pineda walked 2. Big deal. Especially since ball 4 to Abreu was actully strike 3, and the umpire blew the call of a great pitch! So bring Robles in with runners on 2nd and third with one out, and you know he will let the runners in. I am amazed he didn't let both in. All it took was one pitch from Robles. Just like has been happening. ONE PITCH! Obviously, even if Pineda had walked the bases loaded, Robles was brought in at least one batter too soon. Pineda didn't get the chance to end the inning, and no run scored in the 6th on his watch. All this pen does is let inherited runners in. I say let the starter decide the fate. The pen is trash.
  20. Watching the Abreau triple in the first, and Kepler playing center, is a glaring play of how much Buxton is missed. Can Kepler play center? Sure, and Astudillo can catch. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/twins-vs-white-sox/2021/05/12/634160#game_state=final,lock_state=final,game_tab=videos,game=634160
  21. I think it's inevitable that Sano gets released at some point, because nobody is gonna want to give him a shot except for MLB minimum.
  22. None have trust. You can't rank something that doesn't exist.
  23. Wow. This is dramatic. And the lefty Rogers (.947 OPS in 19 plate appearances) takes away any thoughts that his ERA is in any way representative. This team is performing incredibly poor.
  24. I believe that is my unquoted post..... exactly.... and I believe I read it in a piece at MLBTradeRumors.
  25. The only level that players can be promoted from this year is AAA. That and the taxi squad. So when AAA completes against others the win loss matters. It is not looking good for reinforcements from that supposedly awesome farm system after week one.
