Twins media emergency kit. If the rubber band breaks you use the lipstick! http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_zhEQ2mSGLhg/TK5Gec6uaFI/AAAAAAAAAFs/V6EwVkil6LA/s1600/IMG_0380.JPG
Right now only one AL team has fewer wins. 12 teams have better records and we are one win worse than last year at this time. Maybe talking playoffs should be put on hold until they improve their record to at least mediocre.
They did this to Ramos not long before he was traded. Finding some things that weren't up to par kind of like setting up a reason for the trade. Can't think it will be fun down the road, for Pinto, if they get back on the field together.
Management 101; don't berate employees in public! For some reason the Twins coaches and front office think this is a way of improving performance. I doubt you'd find many books on management (non-military) that would agree.
6. Thinking of the rubber band. SI says the Twins have a 9% chance to make the playoffs. A rubber band is what 1/4 in wide but they are in Canada so we need to convert into mm which would be .635 mm but only 9% remains so 9% of .635 equals .057 mm and I'm in Mn. so I have to convert back to inches which equals .0022 inches which is about the thickness of a thread which is what we are hanging by. It all checks out. When I looked for a pictures of Twins hanging by a thread I got this: http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQAGyJqhbBr9R7iXOrO0aV4qWXffuBZ6tZ_VdmgItXCSsgaeuDQ Works for me!
The Twins moved on quickly with Pelfrey. I wish they would now do the same with Correia. Oh sure he pitches a 1 hit shutout tonight and you'll be back on the band wagon blowing the horn!!
It sounds like Morales only speaks Spanish and we now have several other Spanish speaking players. Is it time to get a Latin/Spanish speaking bench coach that can work with these guys during the games?
It's a good thing to bring in players that are better than what we have. On the other hand there are 11 teams with better records and only 3 with worse records in the AL. Is it realistic to think this makes them a playoff team I'd say no. Now if they really really think they are, the thing to do is go get David Price from the Rays. It won't be cheap but if you are really serious about this "win now" approach that move would show it.

Prospects are prospects and certainly not sure things. To always worry that bringing in a good/decent player that would improve your team is somehow going to muck up the entire flow of great players coming up makes no sense. If prospects were sure things Joe Benson and Hicks would be playing every day and we wouldn't even need to talk about Jay. Get as many good players as you can, figure it out as you go. Having an extra good player is much better than playing shorthanded for a half season or more.
I think he'd be a good pickup and not just if he's free. Stuff that's cheap or free usually turns out to be worth just that. He has a few years of control and would improve what is a poor outfield defensively.
