    Mauer had an OPS+ of 99 while Cron had 123. He'll make less than 25% of the money, so what's the problem? If he doesn't work out it's only a very small amout of money invested.

    I think I'd rather have Moose who plays 3B where we only have an iffy Sano. His bat is close to what Santana does and wouldn't need a trade and likely costs less. I just don't think they can count on Sano, fool me once type thing and Sano can play 1B or DH if he shows anything.

    As an unwritten rule I'd stay away from NL starting pitchers.

    According to Fangraphs Polanco was one of the worst defensive SS in MLB. Lets get a good defensive SS and move Polanco to 2b where his defense isn't such a negative.

    Now get him some better players. Don't go into the season hoping Buxton and Sano turn things around because, fool me once...… If those guys do turn it around make it icing on the cake. Get some better players stop with the mediocre!!!

    I want a manager who will post an intro for the game thread with witty informative BS (ala Riverbrian) and is good at math (analytics) but not in the game thread. Being nice to Seth would be a plus.

    One platoon partner for Austin, who would probably come cheap is Justin Boar. He has a career ops of .853 against RH pitching while Austin had an ops of .846 against LH pitching this year.

    The only reason Kepler plays now is his OF defense his bat doesn't by itself and certainly doesn't play at 1B. No to Myers just another mediocre player we have plenty of them. Anyone thinking about Myers look at his contract coming up.

    If you move Kepler to 1B his bat doesn't play. The only reason it plays at all in RF is plus defense. Sano sub par defense would play better at 1B than at 3B, imo. This team scores enough runs and should be better with anything next year from Buxton and Sano. Imo help the defense all you can, improving 3B, SS & CF would help the pitching a lot. Keep Grossman off the field, this team doesn't move forward with 1 tool players. If you need a DH other than Sano or Austin (both HR or K guys w/no D) find one that can hit and also play some decent defense.

    Just a guess but most innocent people don't offer to pay medical bills.

    I'll say again if Moose doesn't have his option picked up sign him to play 3B. At this point Sano can't be trusted to be on the field or produce if he does get on the field. He can be a DH if he does show up to play.

    Trying hard to think of something Paul did that I thought there you go he has it. It seemed like this lineup makeup often left me sratching my head. He overworked the bullpen and it showed. He really lost me this year when he finally showed some emotion on the day they were eliminated. If last year was his best 85 wins is not a great year by most standards. When you play in the Central with some really bad teams this team has to be better. Now will the next guy be better? Only if they get some better players because this group is mediocre at best and that, at least, wasn't Paul's fault.

    They have infielders but they need good ones not the junk they have unless you want another losing record.

    Seems like most people just want to keep the band together and hope for the best.

    I'd look in to Moustakas to play 3B for a couple years. Sano/Kepler/Austin/Garver can take turns at 1B/DH. Sano can play 3B when they face LH pitcher that Mous has trouble with.

    Hildy is a borderline ML pitcher I don't get why he is being put in this situation. His overall numbers are not very good. Any decent bullpen he'd be a mop up guy, imo.
