  1. Do you ever get tired by playing your heel role when it comes to anything Minnesota Sports?
  2. Is johnnydakota fatbeer's bizzaro cousin?
  3. derp http://i48.tinypic.com/2eg8rnq.png
  4. Maryland, Maine, Washington all have votes to legalize gay marriage. Minnesota is the only state with a constitutional amendment against gay marriage. I'm also interested in the Washington and Colorado votes on legalizing marijuana. I think they both pass. Only way that Romney wins is if the polls are all systematically biased and/or a late break in his favor that is not being captured in the polls. Yeah, I am in Seattle for the week and I am looking forward to a pretty fun night of partying tomorrow, in the span of one night Washington is going to advance like 60+ years with the passing of gay marriage and the repeal of Marijuana Prohibition.
  5. Inge sucks.
  6. **** Ponder and **** Musgrave. Hopefully we can trade for Flynn
  7. Crazy is right. Why the hell would the Mariners want freaking Zack Greinke with they already have an abundance of pitching and pitching that will be up soon. The chances that Lohse comes back to Minnesota are about 1 i 10,000,000,000
  8. Why are people upset with this? I thought the general consensus is he wasn't worth the money that we would have owed him in arbitration.
  9. Now that he is a free agent, what would it cost to bring him in? Obviously there weren't a ton of teams willing to bring him in via trade, so maybe we could get him on a year year 9-10 mil deal where he tries to up his value and go for a multi year deal next off-season? Thoughts? I'd prefer a 2 year 18 mil deal over 1/10, but either one would help this team.
  10. Thanks. As far as the deal goes, I still stand by it. It is done. I would suggest to wait until Baker "signs elsewhere" to call this busted.... Teams take time to announce things (esp. the Twins.) I will give you a recent example from about a year ago: I found out that the Twins agreed with Willingham about a week before it was "made official" last off-season. I tweeted that. Same source with this, btw... Lots of deniers then (because they all loved their "Cuddy"), lots of deniers now. We shall see. No, your report is "busted" the minute Baker doesn't sign a 3 year contract. 95% of the people here think, have thought he would resign with the Twins. Glad to hear you are doing ok, somehow we only got some flooding here in our neighborhood in Brooklyn, we have a lot of friends however who weren't so lucky, a lot of their families lost entire houses and lower Manhattan is an eerie ghost town these days. (and starting to smell)
  11. I'd be pretty surprised if he retired, other then his injury the guy has been pretty productive the past couple years, he's not going to make a ton of money but he seems to generally enjoy playing still. If he comes back healthy I could see him bouncing around the league for another 2-4 years potentially.
  12. I'm sure he is fine, Leigh Valley is pretty far inland.
  13. What a terrible example. I'd also prefer that contract over Vernon Wells, Werth etc etc
  14. Span for Minor: Why exactly would the Braves make this trade? Marcum for 6 mil a year for 2 years? That is extremely wishful thinking, Marcum is one of the top 3 or 4 pitchers on the market. He is going to get paid.
  15. 1. Sign Mark DeRosa to a minor league contract. 2. Trade Rosario+another prospect or two to the Marlins for Josh Johnson, sign Johnson to a 4 year/ 75 mil extension. 3. Sign Kelly Johnson 2 years/11 mil 4. Sign Eric Chavez 1 year, 1.25 mil. 5. Sign Scott Baker 1 year, 3 mil base, up to 2.5 mil in incentives for IP 6. Trade Denard Span+ Hendriks+ C+ prospect to TB for James Shields. 7. Sign Liriano to a 1 year 4.2 mil deal Rotation: Shields Johnson Baker Diamond Gibson/Liriano Roster: C: Mauer 1B: Morneau 2B: Johnson SS: Dozier/Carroll 3B: Plouffe Chavez as a back up LF: Willingham CF: Revere RF:Parmelee DH: Doumit Bullpen: CL: Perkins SU: Burton LOOGY: Duensing MRP: Fien MRP: Guerra MRP: Liriano?
  16. If the Twins are truly serious about fixing the rotation it can't/won't be done through free agency alone, one of Span/Morneau/Willingham/prospects will have to be moved for a front line starter as well.
  17. Time for the return of the Debbie Gots? Forum?
  18. I didn't read the article, but the clear answer is: No.
  19. .......
  20. I wouldn't give Youkilis anything more than a 1 year 4-5 mil contract, the guy was ****ing terrible this year and in 2011 his OPS dropped by 140 points. A 2 year, 12-14 mil contract would be a recipe for disaster, I know he didn't get along with Valentine, but he was one of the most popular Red Sox, they wouldn't have traded him for nothing if he had anything left in the tank.
  21. I wouldn't give up anything close to Hicks in that scenario.
  22. No, but they are who we thought they were. Let's face it.....Other than then the SF win, the Vikings victories have come against some very mediocre teams. They'll be in the middle of the pack this year, like 8-8 or 7-9, and will pick about 14th, 15th in the draft. Certainly an improvement on last year. The Seattle game will be very telling IMO. If they can somehow pull that win out, they should go into the bye at 7-3
  23. Lincecum will eventually end up in Seattle, maybe not 2013 but 2014 for sure.
  24. The sky is falling!
