I will tone down the Hicks stuff in the Twins forum (I already have! The only responses this week were literally when someone else brought him up) For the game threads: I do apologize if that was annoying you guys, those posts were getting a lot of likes and I thought it was a fun little bit (that some people seemed to at least like) the gamethreads are wacky and off topic anyways, an occasional random red flashing light bit I thought was light hearted.

Mauer is very very strong defensively at 1st base. I think that is very important with an INF featuring Sano and Polanco. I get that 1st base is the easiest position and all of that, but Mauer is one of the best ones in baseball. I don't think moving him to the OF us a solution. I'm also not saying Mauer needs to ply every game, but he should be starting in the majority of them.

Alcoholism isn't a valid excuse for aggravated DUIs Allen broke the law (repeatedly), Harvey didn't break any law, he drank too much one night. It happens. Don't get me wrong, I wish him well in his recovery, and I don't think he should have been fired. I'm glad he has turned it around. People deserve second chances, Harvey obviously does as well.

I don't think the Twins at any point were really actively shopping Plouffe, IIRC he was injured at the trade deadline as well. Duffey? Prob not, because Duffey is young and a prospect still. But anyone that can be a 7th inning guy would be a massive upgrade for this pen.

Over his last 10 starts Mauer has a .900 OPS, has 4 doubles etc H He is clearly starting to produce.

I think there are enough that are adults. They barely passed the ACA repeal, you only need the moderates to turn against Trump once the smoking gun is revealed.

Buxton, Kepler and Rosario should be playing every day, so the need for a 4th OF is minimized. Just go sign a guy off the waiver wire. The bullpen is where this team is doomed, trade Grossman for BP help.

I think he actually "turns" into Saul starting next episode. They hinted at it in the "scenes from next week" teaser. I think him "beating" his brother in court really took a lot out of Jimmy, I think that more or less breaks him.

Yeah, that's the whole thing, Grossman is probably good enough to be playing close to every day for a team, however the Twins don't really have the at bats for him. Instead of having him ride the bench, PH, and platoon at DH (Bad idea) they should really look at how best to help the team. I agree that he won't get a great or even good prospect, but I am very confident he can get a RP with team control. Frankly, this team needs all the BP help it can get, I don't have confidence in any of them besides Duffey at this point.

This adds a potential wrinkle to the story Guy was heartbroken, went out, had a bit to much to drink. It happens. Again, the Mets should have kept this in house.

Yes, but most teams would keep it in house instead of having the press do their dirty work AND making public statements about it.

That's the thing, Grossman isn't a DH, he is a guy who hits well enough to be an OF, but the Twins already have a full OF of Buxton, Kepler and Rosario. Grossman is good enough where he can be an upgrade for some teams in RF or LF, yeah his defense isn't great, but the bat makes up for it.

Taylor has some good scoops, but he gets sidetracked too easily. His whole twitter feed over the last 24 hours is basically retweets about how CNN didn't credit him, how he knew it first etc It ends up distracting quite a bit on what he is reporting and looks a little childish tbh

I don't think comey was very good at his job. But that's not why he lost his job, this is very clearly trump trying to back his way out of this Russia problem. Unfortunately for Trump he is about to find out that dodging this investigation isn't as easy as stiffing a contractor.
