  1. I agree the cheap twins did this on purpose, if only they would have spent an extra $200 mil to build a retractable roof this would have never happened!!!!
  2. They offered Hughes the money, he said no
  3. Sign Hughes to a 5 year 70 mil deal this offseason. Basically a 3 year 48 mil extension to his current deal. That is how you repay him correctly.
  4. The twins should introduce a program where if they are more than 3-4 games under .500 they cut the price of beer in half.
  5. Lastly, I don't see how the team would be miraculously better if gardy wasn't around, even if you think he is bad, a top flight manager or whatever would only add an additional 2-3 wins tops.
  6. Also buying MLB season tickets is a pretty awful investment overall, the face value on tix are always way too inflated. In the 30 games or so I have been to in the past couple years: target Field, AT&T stadium, Yankee stadium, Citi Field, turner Field, Fenway, Wrigley, Camden Yards, nationals stadium etc I haven't had to pay face value or higher even once. Most of the time I was able to get tickets off stub hub for over 50% off face. The only real benefit I could see to season tickets is first crack at playoff tickets, however with your savings through the year you can easily get into a playoff game which usually don't get very expensive til the ALCs and World Series.
  7. I haven't watched an inning of twins baseball this month. I suggest you all try it, it's good for the soul and mind.
  8. I think it's a perfectly reasonable take, what hard working adult wouldn't want the company they spent years of their lives at to suddenly just fold and be out of a job!?!?
  9. Serious question: Is there honestly any reason to watch this team at this point? I can't ever remember a time in my life where I was this apathetic towards the Twins, but over the past few weeks not only have I had zero desire to watch/listen to a game, but really don't even care to see the boxscore every day. Even when I was just a lad in the mid nineties it was always exciting to see the boxscore. Surely I am not the only one...
  10. He is at 83 pitches in the night cap of a double header, I think you have to toss him back out for the 6th,
  11. Hughes has been great, his results have been very good and his advanced metrics actually tell us he is pitching close to a "legit" ace type. Not sure how willing Hughes would be to listen, but if I were Terry Ryan I would seriously consider approaching him with an extension. Maybe tack on 3 years to the current deal at 14-16 mil each season?
  12. Flip deserves an A+ for this trade. I liked Love, but he was gone. Wiggins is a potential stud, Young is a very solid PF and Bennett is sorta a wild card who has a ton of potential. Good for flip.
  13. I'm not sure their record now is really "dismal" I think there are 8 teams with worse records, and I think this team can play .500 from here on out which would have them end up with 75 wins (which I would consider a bit of a success to be honest.
  14. Mauer. Is. Back! 0-2 count and he hits an RBI double. This team is going to be fun to watch the rest of this season and into 2015!
  15. It was me! I think Markakis would be a perfect fit.
  16. Hopefully the Twins keep doing what they have been the last 24 hours. My prediction: Twins 7 Tigers 3. May goes 7 IP 2 ER 6K 1BB for his first win.
  17. I think it is pretty clear at this point regardless of what caused it Mauer went on a once in a career style prolonged slump, the good news is that it is pretty obvious that he is back to his old ways. I am looking forward to him being a catalyst in a lineup featuring Dozier, Santana, Arcia, Vargas, Sano and Buxton. Exciting times ahead! Hopefully he can stay healthy, I would gladly trade a couple healthy years when all those guys are up for these last two years of injury issues on a 90 loss team.
  18. The bullpen has been pretty solid overall, and the rotation actually has some guys in it who project to be above average from here on out in Gibson and Hughes, last year our best pitcher literally was Kevin Correia (who is no longer here) additionally heading into the off season you have several other guys who can be average to above average starters in: Nolasco, Milone, May, Pino, Meyer. At the end of 2013 we ha Correia and DeDuno as our two "legit options"
  19. This years team is a lot different. All the prospects are a year closer and the rotation actually looks like we have some major league pitchers heading into 2015. Hughes and Gibson are both gonna be very solid, Nolasco is just fine as well if he returns to career norms. Milone should be fine (even after today) and we have a whole lot of young guys with potential who can take the last spot: May/Meyer/Pino etc. The thing this team is missing the most at this point is a couple bats in the OF, the good news is one is ont he way in Buxton, and the other good news is that finding a solid bat to play in the OF they are the easiest to get in free agency. Plus, Santana, Suzuki, and Vargas at least look like solid options for 2015 as wel.
  20. I mean at this point I think the twins have a decent stop gap for a couple years in an Escobar and Santana combo. I'd rather they bring in a big bat to play the corner OF spot.
  21. *him in bubble wrap
  22. Unlucky injuries happen, you can't wrap him bubble wrap. Things happen, if he is meant to be a star he will be a star. Nobody said these sort of things when Griffey got hurt.
  23. Gibsons biggest thing moving forward will be consistency, if he can limit his "bad starts" to less damaging types: 3-4 ER in 6 IP we could be looking at a number 2 type
  24. They had one on facebook as well, a lot of teams do use social media to advertise, however for a crappy law firm with tacky creative etc it just didn't make a whole lot of sense. I am fine when they tie it into a promotion (i.e. Pepsi Bat night or whatever)
