  1. Always was a big fan of Grif, and Buhner growing up (non Twins) Unfortunately Hunter is looking very Griffey like in his return season to the Twins when he is past his prime (to be kind) ala Griffey. If only we had a Nick Punto for him to accidently punch in the face to get things right again....
  2. Terrible signing. Hopefully the Twins find a way to trade him or cut bait before to long. Or he could do the honorable thing and just retire/give the rest of his salary back to the Twins. His "Leadership" skills clearly aren't paying off much at all as well. Thanks for nothing this time around Torii! Enjoy that 10 million you conned Ryan out of.
  3. I was expecting a photo of USAFChief
  4. As others have stated.I'm not sure you know what the first amendment actually means/stands for etc....... Detroit does suck however.
  5. #cy milone!
  6. I'd like to change my thoughts from 3 wins to 7 wins.
  7. It was like 2 or 3 innings away from an all time record. Which would have been absolutely hilarious.
  8. Which of these 2014 ERA's are unlike the others? 3.18 2.46 5.48 3.51 3.25 While yes, any pitcher can have a bad outing, I think it is pretty clear that this was closer to the norm for Nolasco in a Twins uniform then some "random bad day"
  9. You know who I am talking about..... That's right..... You know whats coming...... Some say he is over the hill and past his prime...... We need, Nick Punto! Fact: We haven't made the playoffs since we became Puntoless. Face: Punto has made the playoffs 3 of the 4 years since leaving the Twins. (Even has a ring to show for it) Terry Ryan: GET It Done!
  10. And all the LA women on twitter who throw themselves at him apparently. Tough life. I bet he would trade it all to be a 52 year old living in Detroit with a mortgage a wife and a few kids who just got laid off from the Ford plant a couple years ago....
  11. Oh, poor Ricky Nolasco, having enough money to make sure your immediate family, your kids, your grand kids and most of your extended family will never have to worry about money must be so much pressure! Guy is getting paid 50 million to pitch for this team, and hasn't earned one single penny of it thus far, in fact he has earned negative dollars worth IMHO and has brought negative value as his innings up to now would be much better served given to any number of players in the Twins system, including, May, Meyer (who are both MLB ready) and several others. Nishioka was a worse as a player, but at least we didn't dump 50 million into him, the amount we paid Nishi never stopped us from signing any other player, when you have this much money on the books for a guy like Nolasco you bet that it affects the overall payroll enough (where he is taking up over 12% of it total!) to sign other players.
  12. Whoa Whoa Whoa, let's not say things we can't take back.
  13. Agreed 100% You don't just end up the GM (who has had some solid success btw) of a major league baseball team due to luck or accident.
  14. Buxton is 3 years out? lol no, 3 months maybe.
  15. I wish I had more time to write this thoroughly, but I don't. 1. Schaefer isn't a starting CF or OF even. To be fair, I don't think TR ever thought this, Schaefer was brought in to be a 4th OF. Hicks SHOULD have been able to win the gig out of ST but of course he does nothing but disappoint. Also Buxton likely will be up in a couple months anyways, so committing to anything more then a very short term stop gap wouldn't have made much sense. 2. Nolasco, Milone and Pelfrey aren't good. Disagree, all three have had decent track records of success before coming to the Twins, Pelfrey the least, but still looked like a back end guy at the time (with a good fastball). Milone, they got for next to nothing, so I don't see why you are hating on this one, and in his time in Oakland Milone looked like a decent SP. Nolasco, though nothing too sexy before the signing, at least looked like a guy who could give you 200 IP and pitch like a number 3. 3. The bullpen sores are painful. I'm not a fan at all with going with mediocre veterans vs higher upside youngsters. 4. Pinto should be on this roster. I realize he isn't because his injury, but good chance he wasn't either, because of what we know, TR doesn't. Agreed 5. We are in for a long season until the rotation and BP gets an overhaul. Meyer and May should be up here pronto with Berrios to follow. Probably a long season regardless. While I am excited for Meyer+May, we have to temper our expectations with them as there will likely be some growing pains.
  16. Not talent wise, but total lack of production wise on what would be expected. Ranks right down there with Juan Castro, Brett Boon and yes even Nishioka at this point.
  17. Glad to see Nolasco serious about that great rebound year this year!
  18. Good for hunter. West is a clown, hunter also is a good leader in this regard by showing some fight, also takes a lot of the pressure off the rest of the team for their otherwise lackluster opening day.
  19. Mega-Hunk Joe Mauer: [Joe stands up] Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do. Glen Perkins: What's that? Mega-Hunk Joe Mauer: Win the whole ****ing thing. http://i.imgur.com/Y7kXTOG.jpg?1
  20. Needs more Nishioka. In sad news, sony music entertainment took down the Nishioka story youtube video. Jerks.
  21. Asking for a friend
  22. It's an honest question. I'm one of the more homerish twins fans here. It's also a big compliment to the twins current high minors.
