At worst Boyer is a tradeable asset? Gotta disagree with you on that, all of the signs are pointing to Boyer pitching himself off a cliff very soon, the guy just doesn't do anything well, why the Twins continue to fill the bullpen with 30+ year old guys who A. Can't strike anyone out. B.) Have little to no success in the majors prior to joining the Twins, is truely baffling. The comparison to Pelfrey doesn't make sense either, Pelfrey had several years as a starter for the Mets where he rated as either a #4 or #5, much more potential when signed then Boyer, apples/oranges etc. I wish the Twins would give Tonkin more of those high leverage innings, guy looks solid on the mound in the minors etc and can at least strike some guys out. The funny thing is, if Santana doesn't get suspended, the pen might look even better, I for one thought that Pelfrey would thrive in the pen and possibly become a shut down 8th inning type, clearly he has earned his spot in the rotation in the meantime though, so maybe that will happen if he struggles somewhat.
