  1. I don't get pulling Milone here...
  2. As of now? Little. Best case scenario is to let Nolasco come back healthy early next year, get out of the gate halfway decent and then trade him (When he has a tiny bit more "value") once Berrios is ready. I don't mind Nolasco "blocking" guys like Milone at this point, I do mind him blocking guys like Duffey and Berrios however.
  3. I would target Papelbon in a heartbeat. He's a douche, but who cares, Harper is a douche as well, plus he isn't the first guy to ever go after a teammate. (Hunter v Morneau anyone?) He is still a great RP and the Twins could get him for nothing most likely.
  4. Vikes up 10-7. Rhodes is hurt, bad.
  5. Vikings on the TV (Sunday Ticket Online Package) Twins on the Ipad RedZone on the computer
  6. Twins up 6-0, Vikings up 10-0. I'm still nervous for both teams though..
  7. I dont think that's the case. Good day to get Buxton in anyways.
  8. 10-2 win would be nice, save the bullpen for the big upcoming series.
  9. His k/9 is up, but that is because he is facing more batters (BB+H= more at bats against him) His K% which is a much more telling stat IMO shows he had a 16.7% K% in the first half, and a 17.6% K% in the 2nd half, its an uptick, but not much. (One more strike out per 101 batters faced)
  10. Dozier has looked so so so much better as of late.
  11. Gotta bring home Escobar here.
  12. I would give Kepler and Vargas starts today.
  13. Perkins should be shut down.
  14. Terry Ryan can't build a bullpen, and Molitor can't manage a bullpen. Not a good combo, one HAS to go, hopefully both. Leaving Perkins in for his first multiple inning appearance in forever...yeah, who didn't see that disaster happening. Not sure I can even take this team seriously until Terry Ryan takes some blame for the ****ty bullpen he put together. I'm sure of course he won't though, 1 playoff series win in 17 years.
  15. Honestly it's pretty hard to get "Stoned" off second hand smoke, that is one of those myths. But with that said, since it is illegal for kids under 18, I imagine the same sort of punishment would happen if a parent gave a toddler a beer. They would likely goto jail and potentially lose the kid. But I don't know the exact punishments/laws.
  16. Just be careful with those, especially if you are a first time user. Edibles are much more likely to get you "messed up" then smoking.
  17. You trust Perkins less than a guy who has walked 9 and given up 12 ER in his last 8IP? Harsh.
  18. I trust him more than anyone not named Kevin Jepsen in the pen at this point. (yes even over Trevor May) A Perkins at 85% is still better than the majority of our other options. I think he will be a big reason why this team someone sneaks into the playoffs.
  19. I think this is certainly the case when it comes to batters, I reject the notion of "clutch" quite a bit in terms of talking about hitters (but it does exist) Pitchers...I think that is a different monster entirely, for example, baseball history has been littered with otherwise good pitchers who frankly fail pretty poorly when they become a closer. There are also a good number of pitchers who pitch poorly under pressure (playoffs etc) as well. I think this is because a pitcher has a lot more control on a game then a single batter, the mental game is significantly more etc thus the "clutch" "non clutch" "high leverage vs low leverage" has more of an effect. Just my two cents at least.
  20. The problem is, as we have seen is that most states can't be trusted to actually look out or give a **** about the poor working class. (Look at how many states want to cut welfare significantly, or do other outreagous stuff to it, just yesterday a Mississpi policitian said he wants to make all welfare receipts adresses and idenitites public knowledge, WTF! This seems to be happening once a week or so) But I agree with the premise, I'm not sure $15 is the magic number everywhere, I think in places like NYC, LA, Chicago, SF it should be somewhere between $17-$18.50. In places like Dallas, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Phoenix, Seattle maybe somewhere between $13.50-$16 Rural areas, smaller cities, it still needs to be higher then $7.25 IMO, it should be at least $10 an hour. Have it go up to $8.50 in year one, and $10 in year two. If a business can't figure out how to keep the doors open for a $2.75 raise over two years, then frankly, let them fail. That's business. Even in a rural city $10 an hour should be the absolute bare minimum. $400 a week is still a joke to try to live on.
  21. Fun stat on Perkins career numbers: High leverage: .292 wOBA Low/Medium: .321 wOBA This is why he is a great closer.
  22. Diving deeper into the numbers for Gibson (Career) Low Leverage: 140 k, 57 BB, 13 HRin 190 IP Medium/High Leverage: 132k, 83 BB, 24 in 228 IP
  23. I added Hughes as well, looks like Pelfrey is another guy who struggles in medium/high leverage situations (shocking! I know), but his wOBA difference is about .13 I will look up some more data in a bit.
  24. Check out the stats in the post above this. FWIW:Leverage Index depends on the inning, score, outs, and number of runners on base. So yes, it does have some to do with later in game at bats, but that is only one factor.
  25. Ervin Santana career numbers: Low leverage: .323 wOBA Medium/high leverage: .317 wOBA His xFIP is neraly identical as well Hughes Career numbers: Low Leverage: .325 Medium/High: .318 Lower xFIP in medium/high leverage as well. (FYI Gibsons career numbers are in line with his 2015 numbers, his wOBA jumps 40 points in medium/high leverage)
