  1. Should be one out two on with Sano, instead one on with two outs.
  2. Terrible ****ing send there. When can we get a competent 3rd base coach???
  3. Nice work by Hicks! Let's get a run or 3 of these back
  4. include him in a trade for Chapman in the offseason
  5. Gibson needs to be more consistent. Otherwise he will never be more than a #4 type.
  6. No one is saying the GOP hates poor people, they LOVE poor white southerners, those make up a huge part of their base (go look at who makes up Trumps voting base) They just hate poor people and minorities who live in the cities.
  7. Instead of everyone playing Sports Docter and bashing Perkins and his nutrition/work ethic etc with no real basis, maybe the more likely scenario is that injuries happen? Especially to pitchers, especially to pitchers over 30? Holland was just lost for the season, do you think Royals fans are trying to blame him for it?
  8. Nobody is saying that he is 100% currently..
  9. Hilary is -300 to win the Dem nomination. There isn't a "good" chance that his opponent won't be Clinton, nearly every expert states this.
  10. I forgot about Duensing, yeah he is a lock. That probably keeps either Pelf or Robinson off the roster.
  11. It would pretty much be a fact. Perkins held together that pen all by himself.
  12. Uh no 2016 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION - NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES Odds as of September 20 at Bovada Hillary Clinton +150 Jeb Bush +450 Donald Trump +500 Joe Biden +800 Bernie Sanders +1000 Marco Rubio +1400 Scott Walker +2000 Carly Fiorina +2500 John Kasich +2500 Ben Carson +3000 Ted Cruz +4000 Chris Christie +5000 Elizabeth Warren +10000 Rand Paul +10000 Martin O'Malley +10000 Jim Webb +25000 Rick Perry +25000 Bobby Jindal +25000
  13. Never too early to start another thread on what the playoff roster should look like if the Twins keep up the winning. Here is what I would like to see: First off lets go with the near "locks" assuming no more injuries: Lineup: 1. Hicks 2. Dozier 3. Mauer 4. Sano 5. Rosario 6. Plouffe 7. Hunter 8. Suzuki 9. Escobar Bench: Hermann Buxton (PR, Defensive Replacement) Nunez (Util INF) SP: Gibson SP: Duffey SP: Hughes SP: Milone CL: Jepsen SU: May SU: Perkins MRP: Boyer MRP: Fien MRP/LOOGY: Cotts So that is 22 "locks" by my count, which leaves 3 open spots. Ideally I would like a "deeper" bench rather than a deeper bullpen. I think Vargas should be a near lock to make the team, his bat off the bench provides the only "pop". So that brings the number to 23. The bullpen needs at least one more arm, and you have some intriguing choices to choose from: Pelfrey (Long relief), Graham (Long Relief), O'Rourke (LOOGY). Out of that group I think you have to go with Pelf. Just for his ability to go 5-6 innings if a guy struggles early in a game. That leaves one spot open for the following candidates IMO: Robinson ORourke Graham Santana 3rd catcher (please no) Nolasco? Kepler I think Robinsons speed/Defense would be the best bet, he also has played all year long and has "earned" it. What do you all think?
  14. He is only 23, his plate discipline with improve with time. Against RHP I would actually move him up to 5th in the order behind Sano at this point. This off-season in addition to his plate discipline, I'd also like to see him work on his stealing of bases. I think with a little work he could be a 25/25 guy in a year or two. Heading into 2016 it's really nice to know that there aren't very many "holes" to be found on the everyday playing roster (other than Catcher and potentially DH if Plouffe is traded)
  15. All the pledge of alleginace, star spangeled and God Bless America achieves is creating more xenophobia in an age where the US (and world) could really, really, really use a lot less. If you want to have it (Star Spangeled Banner) played on opening day, Super Bowl, Olympics, the world series and the 4th of July? Fine by me, but from every freaking game? No.
  16. I will give you 20:1 odds that Rubio won't be the next president of the united states. $10 to win $200, which I will gladly pay right before I leave the US for Canada.
  17. I can't like this enough. Off topic, but the pledge of allegiance everyday in the classroom needs to go. Ditto with the star spangled banner before every single sporting event (even the NFL draft....ugh) and don't even get me started on God Bless America during the 7th inning of every freaking Yankees game.
  18. Mariners are such a hot and cold team that they can beat anyone. If their bullpen was league average they likely would be contending for the West Division.
  19. Give me a break, Perkins has never been a LOOGY, everybody knows this including you, so bringing up his stats vs LHB in order to try to prove "he is done" is irrelevant. A quick glance at his career numbers show a .733 OPS against RHB and a .723 OPS against LHB. In fact LHB have .20 points higher in BA and OBP against him all time. The concern with Perkins is his health, if Perk is healthy he is a top flight closer (Seriously, did we all suddenly just forget his last few years?) If he isn't healthy then clearly he struggles a bit, but that doesn't mean he should be run out of town or given the Tim Stauffer treament. That's just preposterous. Ideally he is able to "gut it out" enough to be a solid 7th/8th inning guy or so the rest of the season and playoffs for us, then he can fully recover over the off-season and be the top flight shut down closer again in 2016.

    10-3

According to fangraphs: Twins have a 14.5% shot at winning the wild card. Stros havea 68.5 % chance of making the playoffs (Them and Texas have a combined 70% chance of one winning the wild card) Angels have a 20.2% chance of making the playoffs. The numbers are a lot smaller because they "expect" the Twins to end up with 83 wins.

I think 85 gets the Twins a decent shot to win the spot, and if not a decent shot to at least "Tie" and goto a game 163. 8-3 would still be better
  22. he is a streaky as hell guy. Hopefully he doesn't revert to bad Santana the rest of this season.
  23. I mean technically now they do without a doubt. They have the same number of losses as Houston and everyone else behind them has more losses
  24. Other than Jepsen and May, there aren't a whole lot of other options. Perk is going to be in some high leverage situations from here on out, and I have confidence he will do just fine.

Twins are tied with Houston in the loss column. Control their own destiny!
