  1. Thats a good point, I forgot about Kepler. There just isn't any room for Hunter on this roster unless it's a minor league deal or a one year 1 mil deal with the expectation that he could be released once better options are ready. His best bet might be to goto a team in need of a corner of bat for 2016. Padres, A's, etc Come to mind Hopefully the twins win the World Series and he can retire on top

    10-3

IMO the only way 8-5 gets it done is if 5 of those wins are against the Indians, and then the Astros would have to collapse (and LAA would have to go 7-6 as well)

    10-3

They came back from 3 down with 4 to play (in a classic prediction from myself at BYTO where statfreak said he would leave forever if the Twins pulled it off) They are still very much "in it", by Thursday morning they could find themselves a game out or even better.
  4. Hunter doesn't hit enough to be an everyday DH. I'd take a flier on Morneau personally. Still not too old, if he stays healthy could have a nice season as a part time DH
  5. I would shop "proven closer" Jepsen very aggressively. If you can pull off a Ramos type deal, you do it in a heartbeat. Perk will be the closer next year and if you can get an everyday type player in return for Jep, you do it. (Though if you can't, i am excited for him back in a pen with Perk and May) Plouffe should be traded almost at all costs. Sano should be the everyday 3rd baseman and DH should goto whoever earns it between Vargas, Arcia and maybe a veteran signing. I'd shop Gibson, Milone, Nolasco aggressively as well.
  6. The worst thing that could happen to the twins: Miss the playoffs by one game this year, Ryan decides they have "the team" to do it next year. Resign Hunter Resign Pelfrey Fail to upgrade the pen or catcher in any meaningful way. Because hunter is resigned, they trade Arcia or Vargas for next to nothing. Hunter should not be back as a "4th" OF. He would be ok as a 5th OF I guess but I'm not sure the Twins need a 5th OF at the beginning of the year. I'd prefer if he comes back it's on a minor league deal, provides org depth etc if buxton isn't immediately ready or someone gets hurt. Under no scenario should they bring him back as a regular or as a 4th OF.
  7. 13 games left. 10-3 gets them in the playoffs IMO. 9-4, gives them a 50/50 shot IMO Can they do it?
  8. So this definitely had to be his last start as a Twin, right? In honor of the day, I think it's only approriate we say something nice about his tenure as a 3 year Twin. I will start: You weren't as big of a dissapointment as Nolasco. I think you actually could find a decent career as a MRP, next time a team sends you to the pen, accept it. Don't fight it, just accept it.
  9. It was moving day alright, just in the wrong direction
  10. Go A's if try can pull it off the Twins still have life...but they got to start winning soon.
  11. If everything holds constant the rest of tonight, as ****ty as the twins have played lately they will be 1.5 games out of the wild card and 1 game back from the Angels. If they can manage to win tomorrow (Sunday) they suddenly are pretty much exactly where they were after the solid road trip. May the least choke artist team win?
  12. Over/under on bunts by the twins: 2.5 Please please please be under.
  13. Haha. Nice. For all our sakes he hopefully will learn what it's like in game two tonightx
  14. So estentially that means the squeeze was not fine. If anytime called for a PR it was that. Even if you are going for the SF etc, PR Nunez or Santana for Plouffe in that situation.
  15. Yeah, a stupid bunt basically screwed that inning as well.
  16. That bunt decision is so ****ing stupid. Thanks for another loss Molitor
  17. Just a classic case of the manager outsmarting himself
  18. What a god awful call on a squeeze play.
  19. Put Nolasco in, take Pelfrey out and put him in the pen where he can be an asset.
  20. Plouffe is a no brainer to trade. Dozier, I would only do it if the return was good: High Upside young SP, or a catcher/SS. (Move Escobar to 2nd)
  21. Carson came from such an insanely hyper focused profession I'm not sure I would trust him. That's not a knock on him personally, just when you are that skilled of a surgeon in that field I'm not sure you can"see" the bigger picture all the time. I think there is some value in having a president with at least a tiny bit of political or at least international experience. Paul and Kasich are ok, but neither has a shot in hell to get the nomination IMO.
  22. Back to the question at hand: yes he could help out the pen. I would have more faith in him then Achter at this point (who has pitched twice this week) so there is definitely room.
