    10-3

WIth the Astros win, at the Twins upcoming schedule, I think they need a sweep to stick in this one against Cleveland. Hopefully Angels can take one of the last two games against Houston and the Twins can get it back to 1.5 games back heading into the weekend.
  2. Honestly, I don't recall any readl outpouring of fan/media love with the return of Bartlett, Kubel and Guerrier, I think most people realized all three were pretty poor signings at the time and had little chances of working out. And this is coming from someone who is a HUGE Kubel fan, and actually didn't mine the signing, but I wasn't going crazy over it. Hunter at least had a real nice career as a Twin and was one of the faces of the franchise for a bit. Kubel? Nice couple years. Bartlett? lol no. Guerrier? Nah.
  3. What is hilarious is that Joe Mauer is a significantly larger/better/more prestine "Twins Legend" yet gets criticized left and right for everything he does. Hunter on the other hand gets some ridiculous pass.
  4. Actually by every single metric he is not obviously still "good", offensively with OPS+ wRC+ he is a bottom 6 CORNER OF in the entire major league this year (of 40+ total) He is below average at best. At that is before even bringing in his subpar defense.
  5. Yeah, I was all over a Cruz signing. If Seattle was in the playoff hunt he would likely be the AL MVP. He would have made perfect sense for this club moving foward.
  6. There was a 20 year gap between when Brunasky last played as a player and when he became a MAJOR LEAGUE hitting coach. My point is, Hunter shouldn't be a Twins coach automatically next year, could he eventually become a good coach etc? Of course, but let him earn it throught he minors/org like everyone else does. I still think the most likely course is a TV guy for a couple years, then maybe eventually heading into a front office position role for a few years (not a GM) with someday potentially being an asst GM or a GM.
  7. Should have been called up 3 weeks ago. Better late they never, though if he was called up 3 weeks ago this team likely would only been 1 or 2 games out instead of 3. Dude is on FIRE lately, I think he absolutely should get the start either tomorrow or Wed. 3 games back in the WC race at this point, nothing to lose, everything to gain.
  8. Yeah, I am all for legalizing everything for consumption (Won't ever happen). Heroin is obvioulsy a nasty drug and I don't think you will have Target selling it, but you should not send users to jail, with the money you save by not putting them into the system you could send them to treatment for significantly cheaper. Also, prostitution should have been legalized 100 years ago.
  9. http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/21/politics/pope-francis-congress-republicans-politics/index.html This is truly hilarious, the GOP has an issue with the pope coming to the US and talking to them on such things as climate change because "he doesn't know what he's talking about"....even though he was a Chemist prior to being a pope. Wasn't this the same party that let Netanyahu address them with a bunch of fear mongering anti muslim/anti Iran propoganda a couple months ago? Also, the Pope is viewed favorably by the majority of Americans, and very favorably around the globe. I personally am going to try to see him on his visit to NYC later this week, the GOP sort of "****ting" on him is just another headscratcher IMO and shows they are truly out of touch with resoanble Americans.
  10. I lost all respect for Carson ( I didn't have much to begin with polictial wise) with his absurd blatant racism towards Muslims.
  11. To be honest, Alcohol is significantly more damaging to society. Just look at drunk driving numbers and domestic abuse alone.
  12. The funny thing is, gasoline is poor for the enivornment and slowly killing our future of this planet, Cigs are the worst thing you can consume, Liqour, while delcious also causes a ton of health and societal problems. You know what product does none of those things? WEED!

    Term limits

The numbers clearly show year in and year out that minorities (especially African Americans) vote very heavily democratic. And lets say we will agree to disagree on Clinton vs Bush when it comes to miniorties (In in sense of the word)
  14. The Twins suddenly now have "two proven closers" teams will often overpay for a "proven closer" which is why I would shop Jepsen. Especially if you can bring back a catcher or some young high upside pitching.
  15. I'm not sure why everyone thinks Hunter would be some great coach/front office guy. His approach to the plate is pretty poor, and I don't want him teaching the youngsters his style (Though he has been very successful, I wouldn't want Puckett as a hitting coach anyways!) That leaves base coach or bench coach, not sure any current guy deserves to lose his job TBH. Maybe start out as a coach in spring training with the OF? Hunter has always been a great interview, I think the much more likely route for him is to goto MLB network or ESPN. He would be great to watch.
  16. I know that was sorta my point
  17. No.
  18. How can someone say that his "leadership" has "won" the Twins 2 games? That is just baseless, I'm sure. If Hunter was such an amazing all time great leader that added wins alone by his leadership, then why has he never lead a team to a world series appearance? Sano adds wins to this team, Hunter is basically a replacement level player who has a smoke machine and dances sometimes.
  19. Um what? His leadership may have led to one win, but his .150 batting average for 2+ months probably contributed to at least one or two losses. He came nowhere close to being "worth" the money this year. He had a few nice weeksand wasn't a total disaster but he was worth 10 mil
  20. Ideally Mauer would be hitting 2 next year with Sano batting 3rd. (Dozier or Vargas batting 4th to give him some protection). You want Sano to come to bat in the first inning of every single game IMO.
  21. I'm not sure how anyone in 2015 can knock a guy for taking walks. Especially when said guy is taking walks right in front of Sano.
  22. Not really, you still have enough room to roster both Vargas and Arcia to start the season. It's highly likely that Buxton starts 2016 in the minors, that opens up an OF spot immediately for Arcia. Vargas could start out the everyday DH with Morneau serving as a backup and PH off the bench. My ideal bench: Morneau PH Backup catcher (preferably Suzuki) Util INF (Santana or Polanco) 4th OF (Robinson?) Additional bat or util guy. Opening day lineup: Hicks Mauer Sano Dozier Vargas Rosario Arcia Escobar Catcher Starting out with a normal 6 man pen would Help too.
  23. When Pelfreys "spot" shows up, I would rather they just go with a bullpen type gameplan. 3-4 innings from Pelf. 2-3 from Graham. And roll from there.
  24. I'd say they have a Sano's chance
  25. Could you imagine if the Twins make a game 163 and toss out Nolasco or Pelfrey to start the game? That is actually a semi realistic possibility.
