  1. It's actually a bit of a shame, instead of talking about Rookies like Sano, Duffey and Rosario who have come out of the gates like this, or the vast improvement by guys like Escobar and Hicks we are stuck with piece after piece about Hunter. A below average corner OF bat who has no value defensively anymore, the occasional piece about his leadership is fine, but for that to be one of the largest storylines for a team witha season like that? Please.
  2. Yeah, that was the July 1st thought. Berrios won't break camp with the club and the 5th spot will likely goto Milone or Nolasco IMO.
  3. It's very cliche then, it had nothing to do with "fight" and everything to do with tossing out a lineup half full of replacement level players and a pitching staff full of them. Gardy won 5 division titles in like 8 years, I'm not sure why you needed to take a pot shot at him in an article about the 2015 Twins. People seem to forget that Gardy was once considered one of the best 2 or 3 managers in the game and will be back in the majors again in 2016 as a head skipper.
  4. Great article as always. Santana is definitely a bright spot to look forward to in 2016, if Hughes can bounce back healthy we have a pretty nice looking July 1st rotation going with: Santana Hughes Duffey Gibson Berrios
  5. He looked solid the other day again, I just wouldn't trust him to pitch any more than one inning at this point (Which is what doomed us in that heartbreaker last week)
  6. Agreed, I can think of like 8 games off the top of my head where I just know that the Twins would have lost without Sano.
  7. I don't see how you have Hunter and Mauer over guys like Escobar and Hicks, two guys that solved long standing issues at their respective positions, but also played very well overall (and amazing during a stretch that got the Twins back "in the hunt") MVP Sano Dozier (Power Gap) Hicks Escobar Rosario Perkins (Power Gap) Gibson Duffey May ROY: Sano Rosario Duffey Cy Young: Perkins
  8. Yeah, that Gardy led team that was 3 games out of the playoffs with 4 games left in the season had no fight in them whatsoever..... Timely pitching, timely hitting and Miguel Sano have gotten the Twins to this point.
  9. I still haven't heard a good reason why they couldn't help the catching position, you don't even need to get a starter like AJ, they could have at least gotten a halfway decent backup. Because trotting out Herrmann and Fryer, two guys that can't hit or throw out a runner to save their lives as your backups is embarassing and a big reason why Kurt was over worked most of the year.
  10. We need to also be rooting for Toronto to win and KC to lose. KC is two back in the loss column from "home field advantage" ideally they are 3 or more back by the start of the Twins series and have a little "less" to play for.
  11. Also any voter that gives Hunter any top ten votes should have his voting privledges taken away. Sano, Dozier, Hicks, Rosario, Escobar, Plouffe, Duffey and Perkins all deserve votes more than Hunter.
  12. If Molitor truly believes this, he really has no business being a major league manager. If he is just saying it to compliment Torii and knows in his heart that he is full of it, then I guess its "ok". And no, Hunter should not be back.
  13. Double header tomorrow. Hopefully the Twins will just be one game back of the Stros by then.
  14. ****. Postponed? That works against the Twins big time, it's hard as all hell to sweep a double header. Stupid Cleveland, you are the worst city ever. Ichiro put it best: “To tell the truth, I’m not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to,” Ichiro said through an interpreter. “If I ever saw myself saying I’m excited going to Cleveland, I’d punch myself in the face, because I’m lying.”
  15. According to Accuweather, the rain should stop around 10pm.
  16. I'm not on Twitter, any ETA on first pitch?
  17. C The Jepsen move has worked out, but failing to acquire an additional arm likely is the reason we aren't ahead of the stros and Angels at this point. Failing to upgrade the catcher spot at all was also a huge mistake.
  18. I actually think this and Uber are great for the economy and the everyday person. A lot of the people who drive uber do it as sort of a part time second job/side job.
  19. I mean, I agree, that thinking rationally it makes the most sense, but we also would have likely said this 4-5 months ago that he wouldn't have lasted this long. But you can't argue with the support/exposure he has gotten, I could see him sticking in until the bitter end if he doesn't win the nom (And still running 3rd party/independent, he has done it before after all) The thing about Trump is, I honestly don't think he cares one iota about the GOP, I don't even think he considers himself a Republican when it comes down to it. So I think he would be much happier helping "cost" the GOP the presidential election by running 3rd party.
  20. Amen. Military spending is out of control and has been for a very, very long time.
  21. Except there have been proven studies that show that pot actually helps in a myraid of different "real" illnesses, such as Glaucoma, Cancer etc.
  22. Because it's pointless blind nationalism and a waste of time 5 or so total minutes that could be better spent on hilarious kiss cam hijinx.
