  1. None of this is a surprise, nice to see a national publication point it out though. The Pohlads have long conned the residents of Minnesota. Hopefully they can sell the team to a better owner sometime in the next couple decades.
  2. or not trading one we already had to begin with.... For a backup catcher.
  3. I'm not thrilled by Sano in the OF...but I think you are forgetting that Rosario also would be in the OF in that scenario....
  4. First thought at a quick glance: I don't see how Hughes out performs Santana by that much. Also team totals of WAR are a flawed way to guess how a team will do overall IMO. But it's a fun excersize and I like that you put in the effort. Buxton as a near 5 WAR player would Be amazing!!!!
  5. He looked fine in 2015, looked fine in the minors as well. Also 3B isn't a premium position anyways, even if he is below average it's not a big deal. Again, keeping league average all around guys like Plouffe and displacing an elite talent like Sano is beyond perplexing.
  6. Austin Jackson makes sense if you have a team who wants to compete for a playoff spot and those 30-45 games He starts are needed. However by every other move this off season TR has shown that isn't a priority, so no need to bring him in. I'd rather Buxton take his lumps and continue to improve if the twins are set up for a 76-84 win season either way.
  7. Sano should be plying every day at third, you trade Plouffe and Nunez becomes the backup at 3rd. You don't need any more than that......
  8. Cespedes basically is setting himself up for a 180 million dollar payday if he has a monster 2016. Smart move on his part.
  9. Knowing the Twins major league scouts and their results, I'm guessing he won't be better than Darnell. Just seems like a pointless signing all around. Instead of trying for an impact player Ryan goes back to his favorite hobby of dumpster diving for RP help. I hope this dude ends up ok, but I doubt it.
  10. WE GOT HIM!!!!!!! The hot stove just heated up so much it canceled out the blizzard out here in the northeast!
  11. Instead of right field, why doesn't Mauer just move back to catcher?
  12. Mets aren't giving up Harvey for a league average third baseman and a couple of decent prospects.
  13. I have been beating the "Trade for Chapman" drum for well over a year, the guy is an immense talent and the Yankees got an absolute steal. I understand why the Twins wouldn't want to trade for the guy when the legal issues were still unknown (plus what he did was pretty awful ****) but I have a feeling, even without any legal issues the Twins never would have had interest anyways. BIG trades is not something Ryan has ever really done. New York is probably a pretty good place for him though, it's pretty much impossible to own a gun here, so at least that problem is immediately solved. Hopefully he can learn from his mistakes and become a better person, it has happened before (see: Brandon Marshall)
  14. Ah got it. Plenty of smart people from the "good" parts of jersey, Princeton, Montclair, Piscataway even Hoboken has some solid folks etc but yeah, a decent amount of it is trash. (Just like upstate NY for that matter)
  15. Good to hear for sure! He will hopefully be a masher for this team for the next few years. Good to hear he has a good attitude and head on his shoulders.
  16. Dave's day as GM: 8:30 wake up 8:31 call up Jim Pohlad telling him I want to cut bait on Nolasco (trade him and 50% of salary for a PTNBL to an NL team) 8:32 tell Pohlad I want to offer Cueto a 5 year deal (for less AAV then what we currently are paying for Nolsaco, Hughes and Milone) 8:33 Pohlads fire me and rehire Terry Ryan (who said 2 days earlier he was stepping down from GM)
  17. Every person I have met from New Jersey with a brain and a good job hates him. I can't speak for the hell hole that is south jersey though.
  18. Call it under the table all you want, it actively ****ed over a lot of people I know as it is the busiest bridge in the entire world. He should be in jail for that as well as embezzlement (don't even get me started on his other mafia style tactics when it came to handing out state contracts as well) Christie is a straight up scumbag. Everyone in NYC knows it and anyone with an IQ over 75 in Jersey knows it,
  19. Yeah, markets have taken a hit, one of the few investments I have that are actually up a signiciant amount over the last year is Bitcoin (go figure!) Oh well though, great time to buy as I still have another 20-35 years in the workforce. I would NOT be wanting to try to retire in the next 12 months, I feel bad for those folks.
  20. fair enough, and I gave credit to three of them, but Rubio is just a shade worse than the front two. Christie, I mean, he seems ok at sometimes and such a scumbag at others, he just comes off as a huge liar (much more so then most other pols), don't even get me started on bridge gate, which he should be in jail for.
  21. Christie...level headed.... lol Paul, Bush and Kasich seem like decent enough humans but none of them stand a chance. Rubio is like one step behind Cruz and Trump in his fear mongering and hate speech towards women and other groups. Just because he isn't as crazy doesn't mean he is even close to level headed.
  22. Terry Ryan drops the ball again! Not really shocked since he never spends on RP and Ryan rarely if ever changes his ways (even with the glaring lack of success the Twins have had under his lead) April can't come soon enough (NFL Draft!)
  23. So if they decide to actually wise up and put the DH in the NL, how many years "notice" will they give teams? To immediately implement it would put some teams at a disadvantage IMO, maybe a 2 to 3 year notice would suffice?
  24. I'm guessing yes.
