And yet the game and strategy changes.... #3 hitter will have more plate appearances then a #4 hitter, so why on earth would you not have your most productive hitter period hitting 3rd?

That's a losing strategy. Your best "average/OBP" guy should be batting 2nd, your best all around hitter (highest OPS) should be batting third. Sano should be coming up to bat in the 1st inning 100% of games.

Very well said. I like Bernie and some of his ideas, I think it's important that we have some senators like him (I would prefer more) however in 2016 his ideas etc aren't going to work out. First off: He can't win a general election against any GOP candidate who could actually reach the middle (Rubio? Kasich? Paul?). He can't do it. Maybe he could beat Trump or Cruz heads up, but I wouldn't want to roll those dice. Second: As you said, he would have zero GOP support for any of his ideas and would struggle to get 50% of the Dem support as well. Essentially the Dems would be wasting 4 years and dooming the party. Sanders just isn't a viable candidate in 2016, if he somehow wins Iowa (and landslides in NH) then I think you see Warren jump into the race.

I know you think that Trump is a super secret Democrat and all, but why do you just blindly assume Cruz would get all of Carson's support? Trump and Carson are closer to each other than Carson and Cruz. People like Carson because he is a Washington Outsider....sorta like Trump.

Looks like a normal teenage reacting to a parent trying to hug/kiss them in public. It's a funny gif, and Cruz is a scumbag, but it's annoying how people are trying to make this a bigger thing then it is (reported all over the place etc).

Mitchell is such a clown! Good lord, I think coaching is over-rated in the NBA, but good lord, I think this team has like 8 more wins at this point with ANY other coach in the the NBA.

Yeah, that is definitely the smoking gun in this scenario. I hate to say it, but for the good of the overall franchise the best thing to happen to the Twins this season would be this: Win 70-75 games Sano hits for a .950 OPS and 35 HR's....but struggles in OF. Bullpen implodes Then perhaps things will change.

The Shield is awesome, and gaming is only getting bigger and bigger and bigger. (Just look at your average yotube channel these days) VR will hit in some form. I think Nvidia is an excellent one to buy currently.

One of the companies I worked for got bought by Disney, I cashed out my shares luckily at the right time. The ESPN issue (it's a huge one) as well as TV in general is a huge issue for them. Star Wars is big for them in the near term (as is Marvel) but eventually the Marvel gravy train will slow up a bit (I for one am getting tired of all the comic book movies and retreads that keep coming out.....Deadpool excluded). Disney eventually will need something to pick up the slack for ESPN IMO (Again these aren't exactly deep financial thoughts, just my "guess" on how the business by and large will go)

This is for a 2016 fix, in this scenario (where you trade Plouffe) and put Sano at 3rd, you currently go into the spring with the current guys battling for the OF: Rosario (lock to make the opening day roster) Arcia (I think he can rebound too, but good lord was his 2015 horrendous) Buxton (Looked overwhelmed his first call up to the majors, its not crazy to think he may not be ready until June or so) Kepler (Way to early to just expect him to do well in 2016 in the majors) If you trade Plouffe then I think you need to sign someone (nobody that great is left) or trade for someone like Bruce just to give you a "sure thing/known commodity" in the OF, otherwise things could get ugly pretty quickly (i.e. Santana or Nunez starting in the OF) if the youngsters don't immediately contribute. Again this is with the idea that the Twins would get him without giving up a whole lot.

Interesting list indeed. Well yeah, that probably kills any reasonable discussion then since I imagine he would make the Twins automatically pick up his option if he was traded.

Bruce is also significantly better defensively then Arcia. It all depends if you think Bruce can rebound or not I suppose, I for one think he can become a 120 OPS+ 30 HR guy again.

I don't, everything Ryan has said has indicated they haven't seriously looked at trading Plouffe, which is what this thread is all about. Catering to the mediocre to (or in this case: average) veteran and messing with your real stars.

Couple thoughts: -First, this assumes that the Twins find a buyer in Plouffe, so Sano can move to 3rd base. -Bruce has had a couple of down years, so the price tag shouldn't be too high. The power is certainly there as he posted 30+ HR each year in 2011,2012 and 2013.(121 OPS+ 2010-2013) -Pretty solid defense for a corner OF -Only going to be 29 next season -Left Handed Bat -Has a team option for 2017, so if he reverts back to his 2010-2013 ways, he becomes a real nice asset as you can keep him for 2017 as well (or rebuild his trade value at that time if Kepler, Rosario, Buxton, Arcia are all producing etc) -Absolute worst case scenario is he gives you a little better than Hunter production last year at the plate, with much better D. Again, the price tag shouldn't be too high, the Reds are in full rebuild mode so one guy from the Twins 12-16 range of prospects along with a couple in the 25-40 range should be enough to get it done. Potential opening day lineup in this scenario (if things break right) 1. Buxton CF 2. Dozier 2B 3. Sano 3B 4. Bruce LF 5. Park DH 6. Rosario RF 7. Mauer 1B 8. Escobar SS 9. Suzuki/Murphy C If Buxton isn't ready, you switch it up a bit with Rosario in CF and Arcia in RF I imagine. Thoughts?

The real thing people need to look at is the following: Is the team better off with Plouffe at 3rd and Sano in LF or with Sano at 3rd and either: 1. Rejuvenated Arica in LF 2. Kepler in LF 3. FA signing (earlier) for LF or 4. Trade for a corner OF I think the team is best off with Sano at 3rd (I think he will be league average defensively) and a big bat in the corner OF (NTM Sano is going to struggle defensively in the OF) If it were up to me, I would trade Plouffe for (A solid RP and a couple far away but high upside prospects) And then I would trade/buy low on Jay Bruce and have him play LF. You should be able to snag him from Cinci for not a whole lot, and if he plays well, then you have him on his player option for 2017. Almost as importantly it gives the Twins another nice left handed bat.

The lack of fixing the pen and all the other holes/question marks (OF/CF) makes me honestly question if this is the Twins sincere "goal" for 2016
