  1. Have they actually banned it yet? YOu can still play in NY, Illinois etc in the meantime.
  2. Ok just looked him up, apparently a dude from the morning show? Can't say I have ever really Listened to that show, but from what I read he is funny/not afraid to call out Twins management, sounds like a solid dude to me! Might have to check out the morning show soon.
  3. I will bet you any amount of money that Detroit doesn't finish 4th or 5th this year.
  4. The big ten was awful. Nebraska and Minnesota had no business being in a bowl Game to begin with.
  5. I'm excited the overall price has gone down, even with the discount it's worth getting the full "package" for all teams, especially if your team is still in it and you wanna check in on other teams in the division or you like watching some Vin Scully narrated baseball late nights (worth the extra $25 alone IMO)
  6. I don't know why people are doubting Stewart so much. I know the Twins haven't drafted a lot of high upside high school pitchers...well... Ever sorta, but other than his K rate his numbers have been damn impressive. Keep in mind he was only 20 years old last season and still posted only a 3.20 ERA in A+ last season, now, that isn't the most amazing state ever, but it indicates that he is able to get guys out on a regular basis who are older than him. Now, do I wish he went all Shelby Miller on us and pushed his way to the majors sooner than all expected? Sure. But I'm not going to get discouraged from a young pitcher who has had good results, is only 20, and will still Be found on a good number of top 100 prospect lists heading into 2016. Make no mistake, behind Berrios, Stewart is still by far our best SP "prospect" with the most upside.
  7. I always thought the 15 day DL was stupid. Expand the rosters to 26 overall, and make it so a "DL stint" is 4 games for position players and RP, and 7 games for SP.
  8. I wouldn't give up Stewart as its wayyyyyyyyyyy too early to give him away. Arcia+Murphy in a heartbeat. Murphy is a backup catcher more than likely and the Twins aren't going to play Arcia anyways.
  9. I listen to Common Man, PA and Barriero (the last only once in a while the first two maybe once a week or so). I can't ever recall hearing "Meatsauce" being mentioned. Is he a regular caller or something? TBH I tune those guys out.
  10. If the Twins arent going to try to make any legitimate signings or trades prior to this season starting to make them a real contender, there really isn't a reason to bring up Berrios prior to his "deadline" the way The Twins view 2016 now (even if they don't admidt it) is that it's still a rebuilding ball club, might as well bank that extra year of control for Berrios and anyone else while you can.
  11. Kaat should be in the HOF, but then again, so should Bonds, Clemens, Rose, Bagwell, Shoeless Joe and Edgar Martinez. It's time we all realize the HOF has the credibility of your average US senator.
  12. They still are fine in that scenario even if they lock them up early. They basically will be buying out their arbitration years in that scenario along with a couple of the initial free agent years. Even if they overpay for a couple arb years to earn the FA years part of the contract there still will be plenty of money to go around. I'm not saying go out and sign 4 guys to huge contracts, I'm saying, go out and sign one impacts guy to a large contract. None of that would stop the twins from locking up any player they wanted to.
  13. First off:Don't be an *******. Second off: don't be so salty. 630 dollars is 630 dollars, and I am pretty sure he does a lot more for charities as well (I think I read some stuff about him raising money for a charity to run a marathon or something?) your comparison is weak too since most people buy Girl Scout cookies to actually eat the cookies, not to hand out money. When was the last time you gave significant money or a gift to someone you never met before for nothing in return? Good for Glen, guy is an awesome pitcher, a class act, likes good beer apparently, likes to BBQ and was a battle your tail off fan. Cheers all around to him, he is on the short list of my top people I would love to by a brew for someday if I ever run into him. Those ball players at Minnesoya must be stoked! Scholarship or not, luxuries like the best gaming systems are hard to come by in college since it's nearly impossible to make any sinificant money legally while in college. Less so when you are on a college sports team.
  14. Honest question: who/what is meatsauce? Is that some nickname of a twins player i missed over the years? Matt lecroy? Sidney Ponson?
  15. Exactly nobody is saying that in the least. The argument that many are making is that instead of signing a bunch of below average to above average type players (Santana, Hunter, Nolasco, Hughes) to contracts, perhaps spend that money on one elite guy and one "above average guy" instead. Quality over quantity, etc etc. As mentioned, for the same amount of payroll the Twins rotation this year could be: Cueto (or almost any other top ace pitcher), Santana, Gibson, Duffey, May (Berrios in the wings) That seems a lot better to me then the Santana, Gibson, Hughes, Duffey, Milone, (Nolasco in the wings) rotation we are tossing out this year.
  16. Buxton+Sano+Rosario+Berrios etc aren't due a big pay day for the next 7-8 years or so. Signing a guy to a big 5 or 6 deal doesn't stop the Twins at all from retaining any of their current young core. It doesn't even preclude you from locking up Dozier and Gibson. Remember, a lot of money comes off the books well before that anyways in the Mauer, Hughes, Santana, Nolasco (yuck) contracts.
  17. Indeed, Durant isn't sticking around with OKC, he is going to fully maximize his value on all fronts. Additionally as mentioned Suh is a good example as well, Roc Nation found him the absolute max amount of money (and Suh himself said repeatedly that he was going to goto the highest bidder) As far as a baseball example: Cespedes is a client of Roc Nation, and he also is holding out for the highest bidder. Make no mistake, this isn't just some hobby for Jay Z who is an extremely accomplished and savvy businessman. He is trying to build Roc Nation into one of the premiere agencies in sports.
  18. So that 10 year deal that Jay Z got Cano wasn't playing hardball? Cano will never need another contract the rest of his life because they were able to get the absolute max for him. The other guy is Kevin Durant, who is about to get a max contract, Dez Bryant is another guy they just played "hardball" for and got him a huge deal as well. Suh also got a massive deal by leaving the Lions for the Dolphins. The idea that Boras is the only agent who will play "hardball" is just a silly notion in general. He is also about to get Cespedes paid max dollars as well.
  19. Nearly every big named free agent will follow the money...
  20. Wow. Tigers could be a 100 win team next year if things break right. Or a 82 win team if things break wrong,
  21. Wish you guys were doing this the weekend of the outdoor hockey game! Have fun though guys. Pavano was one of my fav players on those teams. Someone needs to ask him a Alyssa Milano question for me.
  22. wrong and wrong Boras almost always takes his guy to free agency. Also, that is exactly what Jay Z has done, if he wasn't playing hardball he wouldn't have a roster of CC Sabathia, Cano and Durant under his agency. Agencies play "hard ball" with major league owners, that is literally their biggest and most important job by far.
  23. Tigers have gotten a helluva lot closer than the Twins in the last 10 years. How has the Twins uber conservative approach worked again? One ALCS appearance since 91? Worst playoff results of ALL Minnesota pro sports teams in that time. Not. good.
