  1. I mean, I also enjoy playing MLB the show. If you want, you can be the Twins opening day starting pitcher as well. With that said, for reality, I don't see this happening for opening day. Not for THIS team with THIS front office and coaching staff.
  2. He will, absolutely. IF his shoulder is healthy, and that was the issue this past season, I think that will happen. I also think they know where he is at right now, which will show how aggressively they go after a 1B/DH right handed hitting option via trade or free agency.
  3. I think analytics (aka knowledge and learning about something) is great. I think one should be as informed as possible before making a decision on anything, be it where to get food for a meal, how to travel from A to B, or even if generally a decision during a game. Knowledge and understanding don't guarantee success in whatever you are doing. No one can predict the future. But it also is good to make a decision based on the best information you know at the time. We are all human, and we all make mistakes. Hopefully we tried our best, right?
  4. I still have quite a bit of hope that Miranda can get healthy and be a solid bat for this lineup. Not certain where he can play defensively other than 1B, but if he can do that AND be able to backup 3B, that is a good player to have.
  5. I hate looking at it this way, but for pairing down to a roster of 26, I don't know that I A) See BOTH Castro and Gordon on the team AND B) See both Farmer and Polanco on the team. I think two of those 4 are still on the team opening day 2024, barring injuries of course. Thanks Seth!
  6. OTHER than 1B/DH, do you see any position that his arm (Julien's) isn't a hindrance? I'm hoping he can be an option at a few spots to keep his bat in the lineup. For example, left field occasionally makes sense to me as well as 1B/2B.
  7. Agreed with most timelines. Just came here to say that the list is exciting to me, and I'd also be willing to bet that Jenkins pushes closer to end of year 2025 instead of mid year 2026.
  8. You mean we can't just trade all the players we don't necessarily/hypothetically love for another team's best players? What's up with that? :) Also, I'm trying to find, in the settings menu, where to turn injuries off for 2024. Have you been able to find that? :)
  9. You know, I THOUGHT I had read they wanted a SS, but now maybe that's just me going crazy and thinking something.
  10. Also, generally, I THINK my head has gone with Lee as a potential trade chip a bit here and there too. Seattle has been vocal about wanting a SS (which Lee has only really played in the minors) and Seattle definitely has some interesting young pitching. I'm NOT jumping to conclusions. Ok, maybe I am
  11. I feel like "preferably" is strong here, but I see where you are coming from
  12. Depends on the pitcher. I really like Julien's bat, and actually think he should start trying left field a bit to be honest.
  13. Curious where you see Julien line up defensively? I don't really see him full time anywhere, but possibly 1b/2b/LF? I do think his bat should play still, but I have a hard time penciling him anywhere and feeling confident about it.
  14. I'd be fully on board. His range is solid, and I THINK I like Lee's arm a little bit more, so having him at 3b and Lewis at 2b makes a world of sense to me too.
  15. Yeah, I think Martin can absolutely be in the CF mix, and probably play multiple positions. I don't see him starting fully from day 1. And Lee, I do think his bat is ready. How to find a position on the field (and assure he is actually ready?) is another story
  16. That could be. I've always figured Lewis would end up in the outfield anyway. But truly, with the team (at their end of year/exit interview) said they were planning on Lewis being the 3B, my assumption for early 2024 is that is where he is right?
  17. Curious which rookies you listed you think would be the sole owner of any position 100% of the time from day 1? At best, of the guys you mentioned, I could see Lee being very much ready for 2B (or 1b?) and Martin in the mix as a utility guy. Is that asking a TON of either of them? Maybe? But I have to believe the coaching staff knows their abilities and how ready they are to produce much better than any of us do.
  18. I 100% expect Varland to be a high leverage reliever, as I'm certain they will bring at least one starter in to complete the rotation. I'm also really excited for Festa and Lewis and Ohl. I think all of them could theoretically get start(s) this year, and all have really exciting stuff. Fun to see legitimate depth that isn't far away.
  19. Correa did get more, no? Even though he had opt-outs initially right?
  20. I wanted to throw out a name I read could/should be available this winter; Harold Ramirez of Tampa Bay. He is team controlled through 2025, and is definitely a decent right handed 1b/dh bat who wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to acquire. Last year for Tampa, he hit .313/353/460 with a 5.1% bb rate and an 18.2% k rate. He did have a crazy (lucky) babip of .359, so he most likely isn't a .300 hitter, but he doesn't strike out all that much and he has a little bit of pop. Seems like a good platoon bat (he hit .387/411/555 against lefties in 2023) with a healthy Kirilloff or Julien at 1B. And who knows, maybe a trade could net us BOTH Glasnow and Ramirez? Thoughts?
  21. To me, looking at the list, the one that is easiest to cover for (if traded) is Wallner. This will be an interesting offseason, and I'd be willing to think an over/under of guys traded on this list specifically could be over 1.5.
  22. He got divorced the month he was traded. That’s a factor. But yeah, if he is healthy and right, I’d argue he wouldn’t be behind anyone on the twins other than López
  23. It may not be a problem to be honest. About 20 or so teams are in the same boat with Bally going bankrupt, so I'd imagine most of baseball is looking at free agency/spending the way the Twins came out and said they were.
  24. I would absolutely bring on Hendricks for his presence/personality in 2024, and I'd sign him to a 2 year deal so he could be pitching in 2025. That would be the hope. I would also absolutely bring on Giolito. I know there is another thread on this, but I feel as if there is a playoff caliber starter in there, and he will be an awful lot cheaper had he not had the last 2 months of production in 2023 after both A) Getting divorced and B) getting traded. I also would love it if the Twins kicked the tires to see if Chicago would be open to trading Michael Kopech. He was terrible production wise in 2023, but the arm talent is in there too. Just wanted to add that. Tim Anderson on the other hand, I will him well, but I don't see a place here.
  25. This is clearly music to the Twins' ears. Trade for pitching and supplement offense via free agency. Win Win
