    Let's say, hypothetically, they do take Moore at 21 (as of today that would be the pick I would love based on who could be available) but then who would be good to pair him at 33? Prep is probably the way they go right, but would you lean an arm or a position player at that point? Because, I gotta say, Moore at 21 and buying one of the many intriguing prep arms down to 33 sounds exciting to me.

    Gotta say, I really like the idea of Malcolm Moore. He has a solid bat that SHOULD translate, and the Twins, if anything, can help a catcher refine their skills, similar to what they did working with Jeffers early on (at least in theory.) Great write up as always!

    Lewis and Lee getting healthy will certainly help this lineup. IF everyone is healthy at that point, that'll be a good problem :)

    Great article as always Seth! Now I have the tune of "how much wood can a wood chuck chuck" but trying to tie it to Mitchell Stone's somehow. I haven't gotten it to work in my head yet, but there has to be something there, right? :)

    His stuff is still pretty elite, it's always been command of it. IF he can get to anywhere close to average command, his stuff will play. But you are right, this ain't SEC competition.

    So Brecht may be figuring a few things out. Over his last 3 starts, he has thrown 7 2/3, 7 and 8 innings respectively, with 3, 3 and 2 walks, and 12, 11 and 13 k's. 2 earned runs total in that span. If he continues this, he won't at all be available at 21.

    I would be excited if the twins took Brecht. I don’t know how much to trust his command overall, but if they took him, that would tell me their trust their development enough to get him to meet his ceiling (even if his floor is a reliever potentially.)

    What is a more probable Minnesota sports thing to happen? 1) They stick at 11 and 23, take bpa (one probably being a qb) and roll with it. (Maybe it "works" or maybe it doesn't, but most likely this doesn't end in a super bowl over the next 5 years right?) 2) They trade an enormous amount of draft capital for a QB they want, and it is exciting. They go on to win the super bowl in 2027. 3) They trade an enormous amount of draft capital for a QB they want, and it is exciting. By 2029, people don't talk about the Herschel Walker trade anymore, they talk about the Maye/McCarthy/Daniels trade. Historical Minnesota sports aside, will there be anything but schadenfreude from this draft? I'd like to say I hope not, but I guess we will find out. That said, I want them to get and get their guy too, just like others have mentioned here. You have to try, right?

    Gotta say, I'm hoping for Drake Maye to be a Viking. I don't know how much I want to articulate beyond that, but getting a guy that they believe in at QB is what I am hoping to see. Anyone else?

    Record wise, 6-11 is exactly how the 1991 Twins started. But yeah, the offense just isn't there right now.

    I'm curious if there is a comparison for ANY 17 game stretch for any season of the last 50 years? Why do the first 17 games feel like it means more, when a 17 game stretch in June not as much? Not defending the Twins here. It's been atrocious at the plate. But there have to be worse 17 game stretches during a season, right?

    I do think this wouldn't be showing it's head so fast IF Lewis and Kepler and Correa were healthy and performing, as well as Buxton and Julien performing, and Wallner, like we all expected them to so far. Farmer, fwiw, is well liked and from all accounts has been a good mentor to Julien. I'm not as down on him. Lots of season left still. If players get healthy and he only faces lefties, I think his bat can come around for what he can provide. Santana, ugh. I'm still befuddled that they didn't get a real power option here. I would have loved Rhys Hoskins here, and although his bat isn't showing a ton yet early on for Milwaukee either, I would have really liked a gamble like that. A trade for Pete Alonso would help the middle of the lineup a ton. I wonder if they bring up that conversation again at some point. I also get the idea that Santana historically takes good at bats and doesn't strike out (something this lineup needed more of obviously) but he just isn't right right now. Having Brooks Lee get hurt so fast hasn't helped either. Ugh. IF we are still saying these things in mid May, then the yelling will get much louder. Hopefully the rest of April, with getting Duran back soon and Correa, and facing the white sox and Angels a bunch, we get out of it close to a .500 record.

    Makes me think Miranda has a place on the team if he continues to hit in St. Paul. And Martin should get a chance to hit too. Both are good at making contact, and that's something that Kepler and Wallner (and others) aren't doing to start the season.

    Woods Richardson is slated to start for the Saints tomorrow (Tuesday.) I have a hard time NOT having him at #1 on this list, especially with how he looked in the spring with a bit of added velocity. Hopefully Headrick and continue to look solid as well.

    I'd be on board with Boyd of the players you mentioned. I'd also still watch the waiver/opt out wire. Jake Odorizzi certainly has an opt out and would be a good fit here if they wanted depth.

    I'm not saying they have to add every single time it comes up. But I am saying they have depth right now (and will add more depth with the draft in June/July.) They have a lot of depth, and I believe enough they can trade to add to the team prior to the playoff push this season. I think it would be negligent to not add. I also think they can add without trading Lee or Jenkins. Are you saying you wouldn't trade from our prospect depth to help the team ever? That's what I would argue was the biggest downfall for the Terry Ryan led teams.
