That's why I fault the Twins for very limited vision. Half measures only lead halfway to a title.

Darn. Good enough to put up a fight but not good enough to win might be the '26 Twins in a nutshell. We'll see how they do from here.

KC is a winner. That's clear already. Now get Jenkins up here and let these kids join the hunt.

If there isn't a 2027 season, I wonder how many fans will leave MLB for good? I personally can't imagine going back or caring even a little bit about MLB after that. I'd just as soon the league dissolve and spend my time watching town ball.

Welcome! I hope this team's brightest days are ahead. But I don't want an owner to curry my favor. I simply want my team to win a World Series title. These deadline trades didn't really move the needle for this year, and they may make it harder to win in the years ahead. Winning will rebuild support. Nothing less than that will do the trick.

Here's the only problem, though: Tom Pohlad and the Pohlad family were the causes of the "poor timing." This wasn't a fluke or a glitch in the offseason schedule. The grace is kind of you and speaks to the core decency of you as a Twins fan. But it's also fair to judge any Pohlad based on the decisions made by the Pohlad family. They were the owners then and still are now. The success or failings of this organization are their sole responsibility.

No one can explain this. Pohlad painted himself into a corner with a series of offseason decisions that were mostly delusional. He had an assist from a surprisingly feisty Twins team in a surprisingly flat AL. If they fall short in the weeks ahead, this team is going to be even further from building a winner than they were at the end of last season. That's the cost of a lack of vision and an unwillingness to make unpopular but necessary decisions. But, a rough '26 season where you're out of the hunt by June or July was going to be the cost of a rebuilding vision, too. That's the tradeoff. They better get Buxton and Ryan healthy and get it together offensively. And fast.

There's just something about this team that struggles at the first sign of expectation of success. I was hoping it was just a Rocco thing, but it seems to run a little deeper in the culture. We'll see. This team has positively surprised me a few times this season. Here's hoping for a few more. But it's possible that the gas has finally run out. And, of course, at just about the worst possible time.

It shouldn't cost too much to pry Ohtani and Betts away from the Dodgers.

I was all ready to slap a good wet blanket on any comments about the trade deadline: "If you can't beat the Royals at home, you don't need to worry about any trades." Shelton's Hellions weren't having it. Now, superstition compels me to say it: this team stinks and is going nowhere.

I was watching Gameday and they were headed to the 9th down 3-0 with like one hit all day. What did you all do? Which one of you knows sorcery? -

This '26 team has a habit of proving me wrong, so I'll just say no. They're not gonna win anything. I do hope I'm wrong. A playoff berth would be a nice way to turn the page. But I still fear that even if they make a tepid little run at the playoffs, their longer term chances would have been far better served by trading their assets, taking their lumps and upgrading their prospects.

I've lost count of the number of season-saving victories in just this week alone. What a goofy year.

Well, the dream of a plucky WC contender was fun while it lasted. But it looks like gravity is still gravity. One more loss in this series should do it.

I think by that point Falvey had become addicted to the rush. Insiders say he even tried to trade TC Bear and the Minnie and Paul sign. -
