  1. Looks like Keaschall's arm isn't quite all the way back. Good scoop by France on the throw.
  2. I disagree with that. Buxton's speed has won games and certainly helped the Twins "bottom line" as far as extra bases taken. It doesn't make anyone else faster, but it neutralizes most of other players' mistakes. Also, adding both Keirsey and Keaschall as well as Harrison Bader has added speed and base running proficiency.
  3. With the glimmer of success that Paddack has shown in his last starts, I think he stays in the rotation for now. Zebby and Morris have both been knocked around lately, so it isn't like the Twins are keeping a young Koufax in the minors.
  4. Buxton will probably be forever frustrating as a hitter, but what he has done this season on the bases and in the field show why it is fun to be a fan of his. Keaschall adds a (so far) good bat with pretty impressive speed. I'd like to see him more in the field, but as long as the Twins are playing shorthanded there are plenty of PAs for him at DH. Too many guys not hitting to have any kind of consistent offense. I think they should give Bride some at-bats, particularly since none of France, Julien or Lee is setting the world on fire.
  5. Matt Canterino released. As I understand it, he is a free agent and there’s a decent chance that the the Twins will sign him to a minor league contract.
  6. Count me in as saying that Rocco has a flawed product to work with, first and foremost. I put most of the failures of '22, '24 and so far in '25 on the players themselves and secondly on the front office. That said, Baldelli probably deserves some of the blame. I don't know if he reaches enough of the roster with his big picture analytics approach. The Twins have walked through too many games and made too many fundamental mistakes and Rocco Baldelli is not the taskmaster to demand and receive better performance.
  7. The reverse splits would seem to limit his value to the Twins, but he hit well just last year, so there should be hope that he can help. After all, who is behind France if he gets injured or continues to struggle?
  8. One ex-Twin hurler is placed on the IL and one is activated. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/red-sox-expected-to-activate-liam-hendriks-tomorrow.html https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/martin-perez-headed-for-mri-with-forearm-soreness.html
  9. D-Train didn’t know DeSclafani was on the Twins only last year, but otherwise he’s been a fun listen.
  10. Good battle from Julien there, but it ended with a K.
  11. Dunno, do they try to squeeze another inning out of the Sheriff? 88 pitches and a couple hard-hit balls in the fifth.
  12. Eddie Rosario gets a shot with the Dodgers. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/dodgers-to-select-eddie-rosario-place-shohei-ohtani-on-paternity-list.html
  13. Adding Bader, Keaschall and Keirsey does improve team speed and athleticism. It's good to add, especially since the Twins had so little speed last year.
  14. It is in the 26 and 40 man roster moves thread.
  15. He couldn't put Braves hitters away and ended up with about 35 pitches in two innings. Not that impressive, but two scoreless is two scoreless.
  16. I'll be interested in seeing tonight's lineup. I would presume Keaschall will be in there and quite possibly Bride. Speculation for the 26- and 40-man moves would be a DFA for Gasper. That would take care of both roster issues. I believe Bride was a catcher in the minors, so that would provide the Twins with an emergency backstop.
  17. I think Baldelli reflects the front office's preferences, by and large. I don't think that the front office has supplied the big league team with enough talent because of decisions made. First of all, too many bat-first position players and secondly too many injury-prone players. Also, I think the Twins have picked the wrong guy to move too often. Would the Reds have been satisfied with José Miranda? How about the Giants taking Jake Cave instead of LaMonte Wade Jr.? I don't think that the Twins are a small-market team. They are more accurately a mid-market team, so they don't have to keep payroll in the lowest reaches of all teams.
  18. Gasper hasn’t done a single thing in the regular season to show he belongs in the majors. I reacted to the absolute the he can’t play second base.
  19. I have a hard time believing the bullpen has been overworked up until now and with eight-man bullpens it’s hard to see that becoming a huge issue in the future. That said, innings will have to go to less desirable options at times and that will probably hurt. Griffin Jax has put together a good run of multiple years in the bullpen, being more effective in three straight years. The stuff still looks outstanding, but the results haven’t been there so far. Maybe it’s regression to the mean, maybe something else. I certainly think the Twins should stick with him quite a while longer.
  20. Yep. Keirsey should be getting some starts in the coming days with Wallner on the IL. With Castro and Correa at least nicked, I'm presuming Bride will get plenty of playing time to see whether his start this year is the outlier or whether he is a major league hitter as he was in 2024. Despite reverse platoon splits, he should be the choice over Gasper against left handed pitching for the platoon role at second base. Bader will probably be pretty close to full-time and he provided both offense and defense against the Mets. It would appear that Lee will get third base unless he is needed at shortstop and that Castro will continue to get most of his time in the infield. Despite a pretty deep slump, Larnach would seem to be the primary DH against right handed pitching.
  21. I'm over twice as old as Correa and have never been thought of as a candidate to be a professional athlete, but the way I see his description of his wrist injury is something he felt occasionally, but something that didn't keep him from playing. I would think that most guys have at least an area or two of past injury that might flare up at some point, but wasn't disabling (Lee's back, Larnach's foot, CC's back and foot, most of Buxton's body etc.). With cold weather and an awkward swing, Correa tweaked a tender spot, but it is not like he intentionally let an injury slide and become a problem. 40-man rosters are tight leaguewide because so many pitchers are on all of the rosters. Having an injury replacement for each position isn't possible, so utility is needed. Unfortunately, the Twins Swiss Army Knife hasn't looked good in the field and it's a bit of a risk to keep using him at shortstop. On the ball Castro didn't field cleanly, I don't think he had a prayer of throwing Acuna out anyway and the runner was on third base and would have scored. If Castro has to miss time, the Twins lose a lot of flexibility. Adding Bride, who has played quite a bit at three positions adds back a little utility, but doesn't directly help at shortstop.
  22. Surprised by this. Chargois has been pretty effective when healthy. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/rangers-release-jt-chargois.html
