  1. I think Kyle Hendricks will be available to the rest of MLB at this point.
  2. Gasper in for Keaschall. Why can't we have nice things?
  3. I don't know if it's my internet, my TV or mlb.tv, but the freezing on Twins broadcasts was brutal. I am watching on my computer. Smaller screen but no buffering.
  4. I predict the Angels hit at least one homer this game. The question will be whether the long ball(s) come with runners on (and there have been plenty of guys on so far this game).
  5. "Hit". Ty is not having a good game in the field so far.
  6. Well, CC produced an RBI and didn't hit into a DP, baby steps.
  7. It looks like the concept of a called strike will be up for discussion all night.
  8. They scored zero runs in both of Paddack's outings against the Sox. It seems he is the scapegoat of the pitching staff.
  9. Alcalá can't be optioned since he has gone over five years of service. I am close to being done with him as well. He continues to tease with his stuff, but disappoint with the results.
  10. Correa has been terrible. There's a lot of other stars in MLB in the same boat. I don't think it's in his best interest to play if he's impaired and he's been through plenty of injuries, so I'm believing he will come out of it. From the Twins point of view, they don't have any reasonable alternative to C4. Maybe they could be blamed for that, but they are invested in Correa.
  11. David Festa optioned to St Paul, presumably to make room for Pablo López tomorrow.
  12. Maybe today. Castro to IL, Gasper recalled.
  13. When Keaschall scored on a short fly ball in Atlanta, the graphic said his sprint speed on that play was 29.0 (Buxton is 29.5), that is in the elite range. I think his sprint speed on his last SB was measured at 27.9, which is above average, but not elite. He's fast and aggressive, but I don't think he's otherworldly. LK had a bad day in the field last night. I guess I'm more concerned about the one-hopper from behind second than the whiff when the base runner obscured his view, but both plays were pretty bad. I like Lee at third base, but when Lewis returns somebody will be displaced. The fastest way to improve the Twins infield is for Correa to start hitting like he did last year.
  14. I don't blame Rocco for pulling Festa. Four good innings, but the pitches weren't that good in the fifth.
  15. Festa has had a tough time on the third time through the order.
  16. The lefties get a run across against a lefty. I know their numbers are underwhelming, but let Wallner, Larnach and Julien hit against lefties in the middle innings (BTW, Rocco has this year). Improved base running, okay hitting with RISP, and lefties not being pinch hit for--so why have they been so disappointing?
  17. It was the "Year of the Pitcher" and the mound was lowered the next year. McLain won 30 games, Gibson had the low ERA and a lot of guys set career highs or lows. I believe Carl Yastrzemski won a batting title with a .301 average, the only guy above .300 in the AL.
  18. Last week Provus noted that France was one of the top guys making scoops at first base. While his overall defense at first isn't stellar, he hasn't missed many so far this year.
  19. Ten of sixteen reached against Wilson, but only managed one run.
  20. Always on base (Keaschall). Laz Diaz having a really tough game behind the plate.
  21. Looks like Keaschall's arm isn't quite all the way back. Good scoop by France on the throw.
  22. I disagree with that. Buxton's speed has won games and certainly helped the Twins "bottom line" as far as extra bases taken. It doesn't make anyone else faster, but it neutralizes most of other players' mistakes. Also, adding both Keirsey and Keaschall as well as Harrison Bader has added speed and base running proficiency.
  23. With the glimmer of success that Paddack has shown in his last starts, I think he stays in the rotation for now. Zebby and Morris have both been knocked around lately, so it isn't like the Twins are keeping a young Koufax in the minors.
  24. Buxton will probably be forever frustrating as a hitter, but what he has done this season on the bases and in the field show why it is fun to be a fan of his. Keaschall adds a (so far) good bat with pretty impressive speed. I'd like to see him more in the field, but as long as the Twins are playing shorthanded there are plenty of PAs for him at DH. Too many guys not hitting to have any kind of consistent offense. I think they should give Bride some at-bats, particularly since none of France, Julien or Lee is setting the world on fire.
