  1. He’s only played back-to-back games twice and I don’t believe he played nine innings on both games of those back-to-backs. Probably just part of the plan.
  2. I’ve pretty much agreed with Nine of Twelve that Maeda deserved the starts he got, but he really didn’t fool very many and had two trainer visits. I would think he has to go on the IL and go through a rehab assignment and have lots of information available to determine if he can help the club sometime this year.
  3. I didn’t see that. Makes sense not to push Polanco, but he’s the hottest hitter.
  4. Odds are we’ll see one or more of Headrick, Moran, Pagán or Stewart. I guess I’d most like to see Stewart.
  5. I’ll be there this afternoon! No Buxton and Taylor. Castro at third, Gordon in center and Miranda at DH. Seven LH or switch hitters, only Vazquez and Correa right handed.
  6. I figured a couple of regulars would be out for the day game after a night game. Buxton and Taylor out, with Miranda at DH. Castro at third base, Gordon in center field.
  7. The rotation last year just wasn’t good enough to get to the sixth and seventh inning with any regularity. They weren’t going to push Archer beyond 18-19 batters and there were reasons every time a guy was pulled “early”. It seemed someone in the rotation was coming off illness or injury and was ramping up for the entire season. This year, the rotation has been both effective and healthy.
  8. I don’t think there were many that wanted Coulombe at the expense of Acalá or Moran. Coulombe’s unusual contract provision of being able to opt out if he had a major league offer got him a major league job and he has run with it. If anyone says they wanted Coulombe for Pagán, hindsight is showing they are right so far.
  9. Winder is giving every indication of being converted to relief with his rehab. Adding him for occasional multiple innings makes good sense.
  10. The pitching has been outstanding so far this year and I think there's reason to believe it will be really good all year. What it means is they can make a bad play and still survive and also they don't always need four runs.
  11. I'd say an underrated play was Jeffers infield single, which gave Larnach a swing in the inning resulting in two runs. A 4-2 lead doesn't feel nearly as secure as a four run 6-2 lead.
  12. Luis Arraez is missing time due to a knee injury. Not sure if the Twins factored his durability into the trade, but it has been an issue for Arraez in his career.
  13. I wonder what the home-road splits are for Rizzo and Judge.
  14. Not to diss Mr. Wallner, but have you seen him play against big league competition?
  15. Ryan: "Only six runs? You guys gotta pick it up"
  16. I'm afraid Hicks will do something good before this series is over.
  17. I'm glad they put Gallo at first.
  18. Kirilloff 2-5 with another homer in Rochester New York. I don't think Wallner is next up.
  19. Jeffers is running far better than last year. Don't know if it will last with the wear and tear of catching.
  20. Miranda is in a funk. Do remember he was hitting less than his weight for about 30 at bats last year.
  21. That was gone in 45 degree weather.
  22. Do you think Arraez is really 5’10” and Solano is 5’7”. I don’t believe either are true.
  23. It bugs me to see another short first baseman for the Twins.
  24. Yes, no Gold Glove at first base. IMHO, they probably should flip-flop Miranda and Solano.
  25. This has the look of a make-or-break inning.
