  1. One high-stress inning for each of Jax, Thielbar and JLopez. Saturday's bullpen will feature Stewart, Winder, Moran and Duran if he's back from his immigration hearing.
  2. It varies from year to year, but somewhere between 2-120 and 2-130 is where the line has been drawn. Arraez qualified at 2-121 year before last. A month, putting his time at 2-111 would almost certainly be enough for the Twins to avoid arb.
  3. Back to the OP, I don't foresee Miranda being the regular at third base in 2024. Brooks Lee and Royce Lewis should be surrounding Correa IMHO. That would push Miranda to the DH/1B along with Edouard Julien and Alex Kirilloff. There would be a ton of positional flexibility with Miranda's ability to play third, Lee and Lewis as minor league shortstops, Julien as an option at second and first and Kirilloff's ability to play the outfield corners.
  4. Kirilloff’s service time going into 2023 was 1.141. He’s already accrued 30 more days of ML service time while on the IL, so he only needs about ten days more on the major league roster to pass two years of service time. If he is optioned on May 1, the service time accumulation will stop and 15-30 days in AAA would likely keep him from being arbitration-eligible this offseason. So long answer shorter— no sending him down certainly wouldn’t be about free agency and team control, but an option could benefit the Twins financially, by avoiding AK being classified as a Super 2, and arb eligible.
  5. 1/6 of season is complete. Twins are on a 96 win pace. April Goals: Winning month--check. First place at the end of April--check.
  6. Dunno if Lopez was shaky or the Royals were dialed in, but he got the job done. He got the 1-2 hitters on few pitches, but then couldn't finish off Salvi and Melendez.
  7. That was exciting, and not in a good way.
  8. I'm sick of a lot of commercials on the broadcasts, but I chuckle every time I see the BMW spot with Buxton, Albies, Buehler and Cortes.
  9. If it's garbage time, Vazquez and Correa could use it to make some good swings.
  10. Pablo hasn't had a lot of run support this year. He's got plenty today. If he doesn't get the W, it'll be his fault.
  11. Polanco says "I got your back Carlos!"
  12. And Correa can't get Taylor in, ughj
  13. Taylor has tried to bunt four times, made contact each time, if I remember correctly. He bunted into a fielder's choice, got the bunt down in extra innings that the White Sox screwed up, bunted foul once and this time got a bunt "double".
  14. I'll admit I didn't like the signing. Gallo has been everything the Twins could ask for and a lot more.
  15. Melendez misplayed that ball. Gallo says thankyouverymuch.
  16. Royals getting their second look at Pablo this month. They're certainly doing a better job of hitting him.
  17. Taylor's a good outfielder, but teams are quite willing to run on his arm.
  18. Getting two in when the bases were loaded is usually disappointing, but a win for the 2023 Twins.
  19. Boy, I thought Witt's ball was going a lot further.
  20. We've seen this movie before, haven't we? Same as last year, while the Twins were in first place.
  21. Yeah, but he swung at pitcher's pitches with the count in his favor and should have been out on the pop fly.
  22. Boy, it looked like Miranda left early on the fly ball.
  23. Pretty poor at bats after Miranda's double.
