  1. But on the bright side Captain Sisko has reclaimed the station from Gul Dukat and the Dominion. And got his baseball back. So all is right in the Alpha Quadrant.
  2. I would think that depends on the terms of the contract. And if the Rangers had recourse, they would have exercised it. Or do we think they'll be paying him out of the kindness of their hearts?
  3. For what it's worth, watching Star Trek DS9 streaming episodes is pretty fun.
  4. Seems like a good place to start. http://www.real-world-physics-problems.com/physics-of-hitting-a-baseball.html
  5. Get a room.
  6. So you're saying wait a couple of weeks before putting him on waivers, then?
  7. Wasn't everyone saying this game wouldn't start 5-0?
  8. All I know is that the A/C is *still* busted in my office so I'll be working from home this afternoon. Means I should be able to follow the first game. Also, I do remember the tornadoes of 1965, and actually seeing some of them in the distance. Fortunately, New Brighton is in something of a geological depression so they passed over us there. Still one of the scariest things of my childhood.
  9. I respectfully disagree.
  10. I'd find it difficult to have much interest in an employer who treated their people in the manner described in some of the above posts. I'd treat all prospective applicants the same: We know we have some problems here; would you: 1) identify what you think they are 2) propose the outline of a plan to address them 3) propose a timetable for the plan 4) propose a budget for the plan 5) be loveable Then I'd recall the old engineering maxim, you can have this a) done right, b ) done on time, c) done on budget. Pick two. So basically like any other Product Manager. Except the 'be lovable' part. That's there by Mr. Pohlad's special request.
  11. That's when all that bad flooding in Houston was, wasn't it?
  12. I really did like the way Go-go was with the young fans. There was a genuine bond there that was pretty cool.
  13. Facts may indeed be just facts, but conclusions are often confirmation bias. At least that's been my biased experience.
  14. My condolences. That's always a terrible thing.
  15. Nothing like celebrating 3000 hits to bring out the latent hostility in people.
  16. He could take Buxton under his wing.
  17. It takes a lot of guts to swim in shark-infested waters.
  18. Nobody puts Pseudo in a corner.
  19. Hopefully not on Delta.
  20. The Twins are currently at the number five pick in the draft.
  21. Definite First World problem.
  22. I'd give him a better chance at this than Curt Schilling becoming President. Try it while you can, kid.
