  1. Gotta love that Glynn-Rosario magic trick.
  2. Now I want to go to the zoo. Maybe Como.
  3. Given that some pretty good pitchers in the NL are being injured during hitting-related activities (not all of them in-game) I think they may well reconsider the DH.
  4. If Joe gives up on trying to pull the ball and just whacks it deep to left a few more time like that, that also goes along towards solving the problem. That always was his power alley. No voodoo required.
  5. Go through his pockets and look for the emery board.
  6. Quoth the poet Randy Moss: Straight cash, homie.
  7. Nothing. I will continue to enjoy the successes and failures of the teams I like, but they're sure as heck not my life. Now if it was to be on the first manned mission to Mars, otoh, then my interest would be piqued.
  8. The State of Minnesota holds it's breath...
  9. I want dibs as the coroner in Munchkin City.
  10. Sounds like they're going to try for 7:30.
  11. @MikeBerardino: Indeed, this is the first time in #MNTwins history that the starting pitcher is batting 8th. @Me Although Walter Johnson did a few times back in the old days, per the article linked above.
  12. Hopefully knowledge will lead the way to answers. http://www.bu.edu/cte/news/press-releases/september-14-2009/
  13. Here you go. https://prestonjg.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/a-history-of-pitchers-not-batting-ninth-and-the-managers-who-did-it-most-often/
  14. They're no more qualified to make medical calls than the rest of us. The only opinions that really matter here are Joe's, his family, his doctor(s) and Twins management.
  15. I really wonder if something like that might happen. Along with either an executive position like Puckett had or a roving ambassador like Tony O.
  16. Interesting! Anything that gets more than one run out of three triples will make my day.
  17. And I'd think that tiny advantage assumes the pitcher can execute a sacrifice. I suppose May bunted in the Phillies organization once or twice.
  18. Hope the rain holds off. I'm thinking we might see that first hit tonight.
