  1. Sounds like they're going to try for 7:30.
  2. @MikeBerardino: Indeed, this is the first time in #MNTwins history that the starting pitcher is batting 8th. @Me Although Walter Johnson did a few times back in the old days, per the article linked above.
  3. Hopefully knowledge will lead the way to answers. http://www.bu.edu/cte/news/press-releases/september-14-2009/
  4. Here you go. https://prestonjg.wordpress.com/2013/03/09/a-history-of-pitchers-not-batting-ninth-and-the-managers-who-did-it-most-often/
  5. They're no more qualified to make medical calls than the rest of us. The only opinions that really matter here are Joe's, his family, his doctor(s) and Twins management.
  6. I really wonder if something like that might happen. Along with either an executive position like Puckett had or a roving ambassador like Tony O.
  7. Interesting! Anything that gets more than one run out of three triples will make my day.
  8. And I'd think that tiny advantage assumes the pitcher can execute a sacrifice. I suppose May bunted in the Phillies organization once or twice.
  9. Hope the rain holds off. I'm thinking we might see that first hit tonight.
  10. Another one young enough to be my kid...
  11. Interesting lineup announced; May batting 8th ahead of Buxton.
  12. Looks like Lackey tonight and Wacha tomorrow.
  13. Buxton batting 9th, Hicks to DL. My expectations for his first game are to have fun and have the team win.
  14. Post pictures if you're able. A lot of us will be living vicariously.
  15. I heard that was a very popular idea in Luxembourg and Kazakhstan.
  16. Definitely have to catch a Saints game (or two) this Summer.
  17. So, effectively what you're saying is "All your pesos are belong to us."
  18. If you want to find the relationship between multiple variables, it's called multi-variate (or multiple) regression. Probably a second year college course for a Statistics major, maybe third year for someone in experimental sciences. At least back in the last century. http://www.statsoft.com/Textbook/Multiple-Regression
  19. Hmmm, looked at that picture with the article and the first thought was: young Justin Morneau.
  20. A Boyer's beard double play moment.
  21. Smalley made a physics joke. And Dick got it.
