  1. Both will be in majors come Sept 1st but they arent ready for AAA?? Think you're overvalueing that league.
  2. Better than broken ankle i guess....hopefully more of a tweak
  3. On the Twins site Walters shoulder problem isnt thought to serious.....from the site, but this is the Twins medical staff
  4. Personally I dont blame Dozier one bit for the loss. Twins led 3-1 with 1 out & nobody on with their current/future closer out there. I get the whole 4 outs thing, but a pitcher cannot give up unearned runs without takin blame either (unless the error directly affected the run). Pitchers need to man up too.
  5. Trevor Plouffe tied Harmon Killebrew (who did it 3 times) as the only Twins player to hit 17HR in a 39 gm span.
  6. I cant disagree with ya more. How do you build arm strength if you dont pitch??Diamond should easily be able to get to 200 IP this year from 163, about a 20% increase which is what MN often talks about. Getting to 200 is a nice round number to shoot for. Can shut him down after that, if needed. However, what is the distance you go with DeVries?? Not a guy you're probably looking at for the future, will they go past their own rules?? Liam Hendriks, while drivin many crazy, is also @ 91.2 IP combinedbut had 162.2 IP combined last yr, so he should be fine getting to a combined 200 PJ Walters & Sam Deduno should also be good to go for IP as they were over 100IP each last yr. Possible the rotation could get worse as the year gets into Sept w/Frankie dealt & Diamon/DeVries shut down??? The rest of the yr should show if MN/Gardy make up the rules for certain players & not so much for others.
  7. If you watched SAT's game, you'ld know Mitch Williams believes you should always waste a pitch on an 0-2 count. Again, when it can be disputed with numbers....makes ya look like an idiot.
  8. Who do you put in.....Gardy already decided, even with the 4 day break, that the game wasnt important enough to risk pitching Jaret Burton. Gardy lost this game before it started with that attitude.
  9. Its not because of this...but when you arent trying to win, you dont win. What do I mean. Its more important to Gardy to rest Burton than pitch him in the 8th. This happenned in DET with the lead & Burnett lost the game. Happenned tonight & tho Fien pitched a great 8th, its still the mindset. 2 games that were lost on this trip in games gardy didnt do everything he could to win it. Team got what they deserve
  10. Nobody has heard anything about his injury...good or bad???
  11. one of the hottest hitters in the organization. Since June 1..34gm .333/.371/.568 21runs 11doubles 1 triple 7hr 32rbi 27k 6bb may be bumped out of an OF spot w/Joe Benson back this weekend & unfortunately is blocked by Clete Thomas in ROC (ha ha) Overall 82gm .267/.311/447 38 runs 19 doubles 3triples 11hr 62rbi (leads Eastern Lg in RBI) 19k 82bb Interesting to see what they do with Bigley as he has played 243 AAgms but dont always treat their own players with respect Got 2 more yrs before 6yr FA, so he has ROC written all over him, why not now
  12. Like it had been hinted, Scot Diamond will be slotted into Monday with the reasoning that Scot has already pitched 113.2 combined IP with a career high of last yrs 162 IP . Fine Cole DeVries and Samuel Deduno are scheduled for game 2 following Liriano on FRI. Assuming its DeVries, after his gem tonight, does the organization have any idea that Cole's 100 combined IP are already more than he threw in either of the past 2 years...90 last yr 90.1 in 2010 as he was a fulltime reliever. That's ok tho??? PJ Walters, who is out of options & must return from his rehab, is scheduled for a Thur ROC start & then Tue with the Twins, as his rehab time will be done--or close to it. He had a setback & is returning to MN for a checkup on Mon. Guess that means Duensing is back in the pen after the SUN game or, like I believe, Deduno is on a start to start basis, but is out of options also
  13. guy who's playin well in Ft Myers is Daniel Ortiz. Unfortunately, he's blocked in AA by Benson(by weekend), Hicks & Arcia. Do that means we have Clete Thomas essentially blocking him & Evan Bigby. Get rid of some of these AAA duds.
  14. if ya watch Mitch on MLB network, you get this type of analysis most nites. Is he the Rangers color guy on TV/radio??? I dont mind a guy voicing his opinion, esp if he's against the grain...but when it can disputed by fact or a rulebook, you look bad
  15. agreed.....would ya rather deal with the mental part getting corrected or the talent part
  16. wouldnt put Hendricks into AAAA yet. Personally, I take that term to mean a 25 yrs old or higher. Liam still is only 23 as he rose fast. Dont forget Luke French (9wins in 25MLB starts) with Jeff Manship (parts of 4 seasons in majors) in rotation there. Prospects galore.
  17. Remember how TRyan was NOT sold on Revere...wonder where he stands now. That cost us signing Komatsu/Thomas....tho Bens time in AAA with Bruno turned his swing around (thanks Joe Vavra). Dont know how many people forget Ryan Doumit was our opening day RF. It took forever for TRyan/Gardy to get an idea of what this everyday lineup should be....for the most part (not perfect by any means). Gardy had Kubel/Cuddy hangover also.
  18. also time to start changing the culture/attitude here. Couldnt stand hearing those 2 bitch/moan about not being able to hit in Target Field. Man up. Other dont have a problem there. Plouffe .633 home slugging Willingham .601 Span .503 Doumit .460 Mauer .444 vs .406 in 10-.350 in 11
  19. a guy like Plouffe is a tough example of the difference between AA & AAA as he's become a totally different player the last 3/4yrs as he's developed his power. Bill Smith was also his GM his first couple yrs in AAA & thats not a guy to analyze talent. Watching the Braves & their new SS....22 yr old Andrelton Simmons got 43gms in AA this yr. Went from SSeason to A+ to AA to majors in 2 calender yrs. This is the new style of baseball that MN needs to catch up with. ONE of the reasons IMO why they are so far behind the curve of other teams.
  20. Nick Blackburn 8 shutout innings so far in game 1 of a DH. 9hits allowed 2k 0bb 99 pitches. Not my wish, but he will be back up SOON after the break.....Gardy's wish, probably after Frankie is dealt.
  21. Kubel season is due to his finally bein able to hit lefties .287/.346/.468 in 94ABs vs a career average of .239/.312/.365 with Twins Coincidence that he finally left MN & Joe Vavra???
  22. No question he'll get another shot this yr....sooner than later. If they are gonna go with PJ Walters & his 5.4 ERA or Sam Deduno after the break, it'll catch up with them eventually. Need another starter w/Liriano is dealt
  23. Got JO Berrios, Luke Bard & JT Chargois.....wouldnt say they got nothing. Saying one of those is worth 10-12 game difference if pretty funny. If they woulda kept one of those, then Ben Revere doesnt play....& then we have the worst defensive corner OF in majors. Great decision to let 2 overrated/whiny players go & start rebuilding.
  24. those guys never dominated AAA the way Liam currently does.......just dont think MN will wait thru 2 more yrs of dominating minor leaguers if he cant help the big club.
  25. those numbers show why it was a great decision to let them go
